"Mirrors" features Trump's terrible comments about women, but it reaches beyond Trump. He's just the messenger.

In what might be her most powerful ad yet, Hillary Clinton exposes misogyny using her opponent's own words as a powerful illustration.

I've seen many commentators say this is a great ad because she just lets Trump speak for himself. To me, it's a great ad because she uses Trump as the messenger, but it speaks to the larger place misogyny has taken in this election cycle not just from Trump but from the media, her critics, and more.

The words he says aren't the first time they've been uttered publicly. It's just the first time they've been uttered publicly by someone running for the office of President.

Women hear this kind of talk all the time. All the time. The only thing unusual about it is that it's being normalized because Trump is saying it. This ad speaks to that, and does so powerfully.
