Polio struck Cedell Davis at the age of ten causing him to have limited use of his hands. At the age of thirty, both of his legs were broken when getting caught in a stampede during a police raid at a nightclub, which left him wheelchair-bound from then on.

Hand him a butter knife and a guitar though, he could make some of the grooviest boogie woogie in the world. And he kept doing that for close to eight decades.

Cedell Davis passed away yesterday at the age of 90. One of the last originals left in the world is now gone.
