Republican congressman-elect George Santos has fabricated large chunks of his life, and he was just caught in a lie about how his mother died. His Mom, you guys. He lied about her death. He has lied about his education and religion and falsely claimed that he is the descendant of a Holocaust survivor and that he had worked for Goldman Sachs and Citigroup. He apologized for his previous lies, but another one has been unearthed.
On July 12, Santos claimed his mother died during the 9/11 attacks. On December 23, he claimed that that was the deathiversary of his mother's death.

I doubt this is true. Everything this guy says is a lie.
He needs to step down, but he won't. After all, it would be the honorable thing to do.
