Ron DeSantis' 2024 presidential announcement was supposed to be a groundbreaking moment for Elon Musk and Twitter. No other candidate has formally announced their candidacy on a social media platform, let alone a massive "virtual conference room" called Twitter Spaces.
Sadly, it did not go well. It was scheduled to start at 6pm EST, but it kept crashing.
It became a running joke. Crashing your campaign before it even started.
News outlets were all over it. Daily Mail, Washington Post, CNN, Drudge Report home page, and even FOX News.
Donald Trump even came out with an immediate response, mocking DeSantis.
But the BEST burn of all came at 6:16 from Joe Biden's account. It just said "this link works" with a link to actblue.
