Rep. Nancy Mace stonewalled CNN's questions about Trump's indictments and instead deployed 'whataboutism' to deflect away after a new transcript was released about the former guy discussing attack plans against Iran and admitting they hadn't been declassified and before the indictments were unsealed.
CNN host Kate Bolduan confronted Mace with the newly released transcripts, but instead of addressing the issue, Mace immediately pivoted to President Biden, Mike Pence and of course, Hillary Clinton.
"Your reaction to the CNN exclusive reporting of what Donald Trump is heard saying according to the transcript of the audio recording that is now in the hands of prosecutors admitting that he held on to secret information, did not declassify it," Bolduan said.
"Right, this is the first that I heard about it, and my question is that the Vice President of the United States Joe Biden had classified information and he was not able legally to declassify it," she obfuscated.
Answer Bolduan's question, Mace. She's asking the questions.
In fact, vice presidents can declassify documents, Rep. Mace.
"And those docs were in his garage unlocked, scattered about," she said. "Former VP Mike Pence also had classified docs, he didn't have the ability to declassify information"
Bolduan explained that Pence was investigated and cleared and gave Rep. Mace another shot to answer her original question..
"It may not be what is on the document, it's the handling of which is part of this investigation," Bolduan said. "But Donald Trump is on the tape -- saying that he knows the information is secret, he could have declassified, he did not and also importantly he also knew that he was being recorded in this meeting?" Bolduan asked again.
"Right, well also Hillary Clinton had a private server in her home bathroom, with classified information on it, was sharing classified information via unclassified channels ...." Mace responded.
Don't look here, look over there. Hillary Clinton was investigated for years by eight separate committees, including a special Benghazi committee set up by Trey Gowdy. His committtee found no criminal activity whatsoever as well as the FBI.
Rep. Mace knows exactly why Trump was indicted on seven federal counts and she's covering up as best she can his alleged offenses by doing her best version of "whataboutism" as possible.
Mace then followed suit with the wackos of the right and without proof claimed Trump's indictments were timed to cover up a possible Biden indictment.
Now that the Trump indictments have been unsealed, it will be interesting to see how she compares what Trump did with Hillary's emails about friends and her daughter's wedding.
