The Trump-era administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, Dr. Mehemet Oz, is slated to appear on a panel that will be moderated by actor Russell Brand, who just so happens to currently be facing extensive rape and sexual assault charges in the UK.

Brand and Oz's involvement in the panel was pointed out by The Washington Post's Dan Diamond, who wrote on X, "Russell Brand, who’s awaiting trial in London next month on rape and sexual assault charges, will moderate a panel at DC’s MAHA summit tomorrow on reforming a U.S. health agency.”

The panel will also feature Department of Health and Human Services Chief Counselor Chris Klomp.

Following an investigation into Brand by British authorities in 2023, the controversial actor is now slated to stand trial on three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault. The charges stemmed from allegations made against him by six different women, with the alleged incidents spanning from 1999 to 2009.

In a video posted to his social media following the official announcement of his charges, Brand said, "I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile, but what I never was, was a rapist."

The actor has, however, admitted to a "consensual" sexual relationship with a 16-year-old when he was 30. He describes that relationship as "exploitative" due to the massive age gap and power imbalance, but noted in his interview with Megyn Kelly that the age of consent in the UK is 16, claiming that he was "a very different person" at that time in his life.

He certainly fits the theme of the Trump Administration; I'll give him that.
