Lauren Boebert Faces Explosive Ethics Complaint Alleging Affairs And A $200K Payment

A sworn ethics complaint is making some explosive allegations about Rep. Lauren Boebert, claiming she had sexual relationships with three members of her congressional staff: former district director Clarice Navarro, current district chief of staff Raven Finegan, and former chief of staff Jeffrey Small.

The complaint, filed by American Muckrakers’ David Wheeler, was under penalty of perjury.

Navarro, a former Colorado state representative and Trump USDA appointee, is at the center of the complaint’s most explosive allegations. And then there’s the alleged $200,000 payment: Wheeler claims Boebert arranged for Navarro to receive the hefty sum to keep her from filing an ethics complaint of her own.

Via the Colorado Times Recorder:

Reached via text, Navarro vehemently denied the allegations: “These allegations regarding me are entirely false, defamatory, and beyond ridiculous. There is absolutely no truth to any part of this claim.”

The Muckrakers’ release includes a quote from Navarro’s ex-husband, Jace Ratzlaff. “I assumed this would eventually surface,” says Ratzlaff. I’ll have no further comment on this topic.”

The complaint alleges that the relationships involved more than one staffer and cites purported evidence including text messages, financial records, court documents, and recorded conversations. It also makes the particularly eyebrow-raising allegation that Boebert and former Rep. Matt Gaetz had a threesome with Navarro.

However, the allegations have not been independently established. Navarro has flatly denied the claims, calling them false and defamatory, while Boebert has not responded to requests for comment, according to the latest reporting.

If substantiated, the allegations could raise serious ethics questions because House rules prohibit members from engaging in sexual relationships with employees under their supervision.
