Responding to a question about a trilateral meeting between Trump, Xi, and Putin, Donald Trump ignored Russia's recent attacks on Ukraine and told the press that Russia has been fine with Ukraine, so he'd be open to it.
Russia hit Ukraine's "energy facilities, knocking out power for some 550,000 families," but Trump doesn't mind that at all.
Q: Mr. President, have you agreed to a trilateral meeting with President Putin and Xi to talk about Ukraine?
TRUMP: No, but I would do it. Not so much for Ukraine, because Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine.
They haven't been doing much. And the same thing with China.
Russia bombs Ukraine, that's fine. Ukraine responds, and they are the villains.
Is there a pee-pee tape? There has to be something.
During this gaggle, Trump then blasted President Zelensky once again.
Q: Zelensky says you're on the wrong side of history on this one.
TRUMP: Zelensky said it? Zelensky doesn't know what he's talking about.
Zelensky is a man that should have had this war settled a long time ago.
If he would have listened to me, he would have made a much better deal a long time ago, and he'd have a million people living from his side.
And to be honest, I don't think—I think it's time for somebody else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine.
Trump recent attacks on Zelensky are making him even more unpopular than he was in the US after he bombed Iran.
Trump's alliance with Putin is complete. Either he's mentally deteriorating, in love, or he has been compromised.
Take your pick.
Ten years ago today.
In just the last few days: Trump made a deal for the U.S. to buy Russian diesel, an economic lifeline for Putin; he and Elon Musk blamed each other for an order that slowed down Starlink satellite connectivity over Ukraine, hampering the country's defenses during a devastating Russian attack; and Trump waived sanctions on Russia that Congress, led by his late friend Lindsey Graham, had pushed for.
Now, Putin has proposed a summit with Trump and Xi to decide Ukraine’s fate for them, bulldoze a century of international cooperation, and frame Russia as an equal to the U.S. and China.
We’ll see if Putin’s puppet continues to dance on his strings.
