NEW YORK (WABC) -- New York Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver was taken into custody Thursday morning and is expected to be charged in a political corruption case. Silver, a Democrat, is one of the most powerful figures in state politics. The story was first reported by the New York Times. He likely will appear in federal court in Lower Manhattan. The charges come weeks after a corruption investigation launched by the FBI and the United States Attorney's Office
