Rachel Maddow takes us through some of the history of government disinformation campaigns being used to put down past uprisings and why it doesn't look likely to work this time around in Egypt. Their government's attempts to agitate and then blame the violence on the protesters is being covered in real time by the media despite their attempts to shut them down and intimidate the press.

All I can say is that I hope she's right given the amount of violence the occurred there overnight.
