A few years ago conservatives were hot for Allen West after he won his election in Florida because he was a The Jack Bauer Republican:

West was forced to retire from the Army and fined $5,000 after he admitted to apprehending an Iraqi policeman he suspected of planning an ambush, watching as his troops beat him, and then firing a gunshot by the Iraqi's head in order to scare him into divulging information. West said the decision saved lives by preventing an ambush. But no plot was ever discovered and the policeman in question later told The New York Times that he had no knowledge of any attacks.

Such an incident might be a source of shame for some officers. But not for West, who has developed a superstar following among Republicans by portraying himself as a real-life Jack Bauer.

Fox News began grooming him as a star because of their fascination with violent people, plus he's a very outspoken ex-military black conservative who just hates liberals. He quickly lost his House seat in two years time after taking the FOX megaphone and dispensing some of the craziest remarks this side of Michele Bachmann. (Don't forget to grab your muskets and bayonets!) Now he is being paid by FOX News as a shill so he can keep his visibility up for upcoming election. It's been over six months now since he's been on FOX tv and a nice fact is developing. Nobody cares what Allen West thinks. Case in point: West has attacked Lady Gaga over changing some words in the National anthem at a gay pride event by calling it reprehensible.

Lady Gaga for 'defiling' anthem with 'home of the gays' lyric

Former Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) is calling Lady Gaga’s rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner — in which she swapped the lyrics “home of the brave” for “home for the gays” — “reprehensible.”

The “Bad Romance” pop star is heard making the National Anthem lyrics change in a YouTube clip from a New York City gay pride rally held last week. While waving a rainbow flag, the hit maker, a vocal supporter of gay rights, belts out, “Oh, say does that star-spangled flag of pride yet wave, O’er the land of the free, and a home for the gays.”
In a Monday Facebook post, West wrote, “Having served in the US Army for 22 years alongside some very brave men and women, I find Lady Gaga's defiling of our National Anthem reprehensible.”
Said the ex-lawmaker, “We are the land of the free because America has always been the home of the brave from Lexington and Concord to Kandahar.”---

“This young lady should be taken to Ft. McHenry and given a history lesson as to why Francis Scott Key wrote those words incredible words," he said.
In this week where we remember the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and the 237th anniversary of our Independence is further evidence of the level of ignorance and disrespect some have for our national character.”

He ended his posting by writing, “She and all those who cheered her abomination should be ashamed and apologize to every serving and retired member of our Armed Services. But perhaps I ask too much…”

He's trying the Sarah Palin Facebook trick, but nobody cares anymore so it has fallen on deaf ears. Take a hike, West. Your torture porn cuteness is waning.
