This one-shot video blew my mind in the 2 weeks that "Lucas With the Lid Off" by Danish rapper Lucas graced the MTV in 1994. The black and white grit, camera twists, miniatures, reflections and a host of other tricks make the clip shine far beyond the toe-tappable but ultimately forgettable track. Only when I went back to look just now did I learn that it's the handiwork of a young Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind/The Science of Sleep).
