This Week marks the passings of radio producer/director Himan Brown, former Kennedy/Johnson Assistant AG and civil rights advocate John W Douglas, prima ballerina Marina Semyonova. In addition, the Pentagon released the names of seventeen service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to iCasualites, this brings the total number of allied service members killed in Iraq to 4,723; in Afghanistan, 1,825, 147 are from Canadian forces. During this same period, Iraq Body Count lists 46 Iraqi civilians killed.
