Weld, Walsh and Sanford wrote a powerful op-ed in the Washington Post arguing that they deserve to challenge Trump in primaries.
Howie: There are virtually no races in Virginia more important this cycle than the one to reelect Lee Carter in the House of Delegates and the one to replace Trumpist Richard Stuart with Qasim Rashid in the state Senate.
Eva Putzova: If we didn't want people to have a chance to reconsider their vote every 2 years, then we wouldn't have elections every other year baked into our Constitution. The seats don't belong to anybody but the people-- despite Democratic Party elites.
Costa has not stayed in office all these years because he has addressed the needs of his constituents. He has stayed in office because the voters have had to choose between the party of Trump and a man who spent last Congress voting with Trump 47% of the time. This March, however, voters will finally have a choice, and this Valley will finally have a chance.
Bernie won Oregon's 5th district in the '16 primary. Now voters need to know they can elect a congressman who backs those same ideas that made them so excited about Bernie-- instead of someone vastly worse than Hillary was on her worst day.
It’s disturbing how so many of our so-called Democrats are willing to defy the will of the voters and shove "Republican Lite" down our throats, while fantastic progressive fighters for "The People" are marginalized and actively thwarted in their quest to serve. The DCCC Blacklist, for example.
Last week the DCCC announced a new rule-- something they've been doing, secretly, for years. Anyone who works with a candidate challenging an incumbent Democrat will be blacklisted.
Democrats need "a candidate who is a strong progressive who can excite progressive voters, who can at the same time appeal to the swing voters we need in the heartland, and who puts the work in to develop a bold and compelling issue agenda."
