colbert-oreilly.jpg Stephen backs up his "Papa Bear" and defends his "non-ideological" crusade against JetBlue and DailyKos.

OReilly: "It's like the Ku Klux Klan. It's like the Nazi party."

Colbert: "Exactly! The Ku Klux Klan and the Nazis were both notorious for allowing people to express unpopular views in an open and free forum."

As an added bonus, Colbert defends Sean Hannity's bizarre conspiracy theories about the Clintons!

I agree with a comment from the last thread.

THIS is getting fun.

From CNNMoney: Dow down over 300 points.

The sissy who pushes someone already in a fight with someone else, and then runs off become pundits safe from all counter attack.

That 200 point stock market drop is now 300 points http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070726/ap_on_bi_st_ma_re/wall_street going down faster than Bush and Cheney's approval ratings!

Leahy said today he would subpoena Rove today. :)

One more wonderful time I get to say that I heart Colbert

Subpoenas, market crashing, economy collapsing...

I hate to say I told you so.

The false flag occurrence could occur any time now.

vince foster? hannity is talking about vince foster again?

I knew this would be on this site. Stephen is the man when it comes to mocking wingnuts.

Hannity and his minions are nothing but moonbat tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy theorists.

OK, I gotta know, how do you post Daily Show and Colbert Report clips without having Viacom threaten to run you out of existence like they did with YouTube?

Site Monitor: We have an agreement with them.

Every stock market correction, out come the I told you so's. Look for a Paul Krugman column tomorrow in the NY Times. He won't be able to contain his glee either.

Surprisingly, no comments when the Dow hit 14,000 last week. Because the stock market doesn't really matter. Unless it's going down.

Maybe Hannity figures that Clinton was the one who arranged the strange suicide of Margie Schoedinger the woman who accused Shrub of a rape he committed in 1999 while Governor of Texas

Yes, what will it be this time?
More blocks of cheese taped to a cell phone charger?
Some guy with an olive complexion who said something unkind about the president at a bar somewhere in Florida?
More pizza delivery men with a tentative plan to maybe storm a heavily armed military base by themselves with a couple of rifles?
Bin Laden's #3 man killed for the 20th time?

As we have seen, damn near anything is possible. The power of Congress is the only way to slow this administration's progress toward destroying America -- if they would maybe try a little harder instead of playing it safe.

I goin to serious withdrawal when they don't have Colbert on. Great stuff (ppsssttt I have intelligence so I believe I can figure out what is true and what is a joke), I do have some condern for the anal retentive and the christian right as they don't have any brains and they may take this as a for real thing oh well so goes the RACIST NAZIS COMMITTEE (RNC) and Fascist NEOCONs'.

Ah for the good ole days of the Clinton years. A literate president, competent leadership, qualified judges, an intact constitution, a strong military, A Nation Guard at home instead of in Iraq to protect Americans against national emergencies like Hurricanes, checks and balances, record prosperity and peace, balanced budgets, a unified country (except for the 20% Clinton haters who would have hated Clinton if he were Jesus Christ himself)....

....and when an impeachable offense was being less that forthright about consensual sexual relations with an intern.

**Sigh**, those were the days my friend, I thought they'd never end.

As long as the $dollar$ does a swan dive into the abyss Corporate America will benefit right up until it hits the water I don't know if destroying our currency justifies the Corp greed

This is all good for Daily KOS.

When I had a nasty troll trashing me on Jim Kuntsler's blog, my web traffic suddenly had a veritable flurry of hits. I got 400 views that day! Weehee!

I can just imagine how busy Daily KOS has become.

I find it interesting that B.O., in his hysterical crusade to attack DailyKos, calls out the Dems for attending YearlyKos. "Like lemmings" he says.

It would be interesting, in the name of balance, to hear why O'Reilly finds this any different than McCain, Romney, Guiliani, et al making their pilgramage to Pat Robertson. While there are sometimes some over the top posts on the Kos, to my knowlege, Markos has never advocated the assassination of a head of state (Robertson on hugo Chavez), brought a curse upon a head of state (Robertson on Ariel Sharon) or attacked a whole group of people just for existing (Robertson on gays). The man's self-serving hypocracy is stunning.

When the market is up, Bush takes the credit. When it is down, the Republicons blame it on Clinton. 6 1/2 years later watch. They will still try to pen it on Clinton.

As far as Krugman containing his glee about being right? The Republican talking heads and propagandist would not be able to contain their glee either...that is if they were ever right about anything.

Faux news covered it extensively. Every time the DOW goes up, faux and the reich-wingers claim it's because of adolf dubyah. But, when it goes down, they blame Hillary, ACLU, NBC, activist judges, the DNC, liberal bloggers, Michael Moore, etc

BTW, dubyah's housing market has not only busted, it is crashing harder than dubyah's approval ratings.

Umm, I realize it's Comdey Central's use of the term, but what is a motherload, and when did that word enter our lexicon? I mean, motherload conjures up rather disturbing images of Senator Vitter, and I really don't need those images clouding my brain as I continue my righteous fight against the SP's, the MP's, the CP's and the PP's.

The loony left is truly the mother lode of all that is wrong in the world, don't believe me? Ask Poppa Bear, he'll tell ya all about it, while also encouraging you to kill Senator Clinton and bomb congress.

Isn't referring to O'Reilly as "Papa Bear" an insult to the Bear community?

It was funny how he mock Bill-low but he is an easy mark. Stephen did a super job taking it to the limits with the aryan airline. $5 a small price to pay to agree with everything Bill says, and I wonder if the $5 is just a way to track who writes to the forum. Knowing Bill-low probably use his security goons to snoop into your credit card. $5 for joining is not very much profit margin, so its seems to be a another reason for the fees.

Colbert's the best satirist in the world

Big Mouth Billo had all sorts of hate speech on his site. Either he figured nobody would pony up the $50 to find out, or more likely Billo never looks at the writings of his (proven) idiotic fans.

Either way, Billo has been outted once again as a hypocrite- as well as a liar.

Well it's 'motherlode'. As in a lode of ore. In gold panning, its the source where all of the gold found downstream comes from.

Trees don't grow to the sky. Today's the day you should be looking for some cheap buys in the market, not a day to sit around and gloat over a little correction. To each his own, I guess; whatever makes you happy. Strange phenomenon, rejoicing over negative economic news. Never ask for whom the bell tolls...

When the market crashes harder than the Democrat Congress' approval ratings, then I might start to worry.
And when house values go below where they were when W started office, let me know that too.

Colbert was wonderful last night. I think he makes O'Really very nervous. Of course Loofah boy is a mess whenever he is a guest on a network other than Fauz Snooze.

The greatest was last fall when Letterman handed O'Really his ass, when asked about the war and being against it, Letterman said to nutsy, "I'm basically a thoughtful person." O'Really sat there like the ass he is--he didn't know what hit him, especially when the audience went crazy applauding Dave.

If you thought this was good, watch the Daily show segment on Alberto Gonzales. The highlight was when they showed clips of the Senators dissing Fredo.

The last clip was R. Lee Ermey (from Full Metal Jacket) screaming:
"THE BEST PART OF YOU RAN DOWN THE CRACK OF YOUR MOMMA'S ASS AND ENDED UP AS A BROWN STAIN ON THE MATTRESS!"

Of course, he could easily have been addressing Bilious Oh Really?, Bush, Hannity, any of the wingnut hemmoroids.

So, reich-wingers are now worried about the Congress' approval ratings??!! ROFL. For the last 6 years the reich-wing have ignored the utterly pathetic polls for herr dubyah and the Reich-wing congress. Again, reich-wingers are shown to be lowly hypocrites.

The reason Fox News does not provide commentary on its programs is obvious -- their lies, omissions, spin, and distortions would be exposed within seconds. The $5.00 that O'Reilly charges acts merely as a filter. It's $5.00 to mingle with O'Reilly's non-critically thinking lemmings in closed world of "let's pretend". A different point of view, no matter how small or harmless, gets one booted from his site. Imagine the reaction of one of his 65 year old lemmings reading posts that there is no Paris Business Review within seconds of it leaving O'Reilly's lying mouth, or his suggestion that we bomb Al Jazeer ? O'Reilly's site is not about an open exchange of comments and ideas. Not close.

The reason why they only charge $5 is because that is most his aging, uneducated audience could afford. If he was really "looking out for you", his site would be free.

Not worried at all about your pathetically weak Democrat Congress, I just said when the market plummets down to their kind of numbers I might start to worry a bit. But not at today's little hiccup. We're still up 9% on the year. I can live with that.

Apparently you reich-wingers are concerned, because you reich-wingers are predictably parroting the same talking point on every message board. The sad part is that the lowly and factless reich-wingers think the low Congress polls only relate to Democrats...they are a bit too obtuse that is also reflects the obstructive reich-wingers as well.

dubyah is a failure. When will you admit it? It has nothing to do with America. dubyah fails and America suffers. When will you anti-American reich-wingers hold him accountable? You anti-American reich-wing are so concerned with the Left (you're obsession with Clinton is proof) and gladly sell out this country for the GOPigs. The sagging DOW only effects investors. This is an investor economy; the economy has been piss poor for the 7 years under dubyah. FACT. Now that the DOW is failing, it's only completely the circle of failures for dubyah. This is indeed an investors economy. It has been for the last 7 years. Seriously, your lack understanding of the stock market almost makes me feel even more sorry for you. But, you hate America and put the GOPigs first...so, I could really care less about you.

It's comical, when the DOW "takes a dip" or the "housing market slows down" under a reich-wing president [sic], it's just a "stock market correction" or "shake out". But, when it happens under a Dem president, it's THE END OF THE WORLD. LOL. Apparently you are top of the reich-wing talking points for the day. BRAVO!

Princess @ 50:

The Dow isn't failing,

dubyah's economy [sic] is failing and is on its last legs, and the DOW is and will reflect the final collapse of dubyah's failing empire. dubyah investor economy was the only thing left standing and now it will only be matter of time before dubyah's utter contempt for America weakens this country even further. You must be proud.

Sorry, Mattie, I just can't remember back to sixth grade enough to be able to continue this discussion. But just one clue for you; when corporations' stock prices go up due to higher market valuations, it gives them all kinds of ways to expand their workforce, in many instances. You don't have to be an investor to benefit form a higher stock market. Likewise, if you're not an investor, you shouldn't celebrate when the market goes down just to prove a point that W is a disaster, since there are likely many people, non-investors, who likely will be negatively affected by it.

Don't accuse me of hating America when you admit you'd be happy to see this country's economy go down in flames to fuel your hatred for Bush. As if you needed another reason for that.

O'Reilly and the Fox crew who talk about the liberal blogs, I don't think get it right for the majority of posters. But you, they have you pegged spot on.

While I have no love for the Clintons, I have never understood the strange Borderline Personailty Order-like inability of the conservatives to understand that Bill and Hillary Clinton are two separate individuals. Conservatives act like they are some sort of separated conjoined twins that share an alien like consciousness.

If you hate the Clintons, fine, we are free in this country to dislike anyone and speak up about them, but for the sake of your mental health, at least hate both of them as two people and not as one collective "thing".
