From 1968 -- Cream, Sunshine Of Your Love
The Sunday Talking Head line-up is ready for reading. Newt Gingrich will be on This Week, no doubt explaining why he's on the off-again cycle of his flirtation with a presidential run -- fickle little odious bastard, isn't he? Bill Clinton is making the rounds following the Clinton Global Initiative Summit in NYC. Otherwise, it's a roundup of the usual suspects -- with the exception of a Seymour Hersh interview set for CNN which ought to be intriguing and scary at the same time.

I just finished reading the NYTIMES. The magazine section has an all college issue. My 17
is in the throes of writing her college issues. Also the article about Freedom Watch...Its
really frightening to think about war with Iran...
On turning a dark page in history...
Newt Kapewt
Tom Friedman's New Book: ‘THE WORLD IS FLATULENT’
I was just jamming on my acoustic this morning.. thanks for more inspiration.
Newt won't run because he'll lose money and influence. Can you say Special Interest and Lobbyist...He'll still be a prick, just without the prestige of being a Presidential prick.
the threads talking heads, but say how can a republican talk while thier in a toilet stal with thier mouths full?
Today's topic on FnS: "Was the Democratic debate a big win for Republicans?"
If that's the case, the Republican debate was a HUGE win for Democrats.
What’s catching your eye in the news or on the blogs this morning?
Oh my God.
How evil is this?

Sy Hersh on Late Edition ought to be great.
One of the few real msm journalists with any credibility and integrity left.
Bill Moyers, James Risen, James Bamford, Dana Priest, ... I'm sure there are a few others.
There just aren't that many names left we can rely on anymore. Thankfully we have new media filling the void. Thank you Josh Marshall.
Oh damn. I don't have CNN where I am so can someone please post the Seymour Hersh interview, either on this site or with a link in the comments section?
Thanks!
Oh crap. The Sy Hersh interview is definitely going to be great.

INTERVIEW WITH INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST SEYMOUR HERSH
my god even bill clintons talking about jack bauher ,what planet have we been liveing on?
justabill @ 8:
I heard about this story on the network news last night.
Oops, waitaminute. No I didn't.
I'm definitely recording it and sending in the clip to C&L. (I may even write up a guest blog post for it, depending on what all gets said in the interview) I cannot offer any guarantee if or when it will get posted here, I just send the clips & the occasional post drafts for Nicole's & John's consideration, but I would say there is a very high probability it will be posted here later today or tomorrow. I think I can safely say that much. :)
This is what Sy will be talking about.
In next week's New Yorker:
Shifting Targets
The Administration’s plan for Iran.
by Seymour M. Hersh

justabill@#8...yes that would be considered evil, wicked, mean and nasty....but where does this guy get off putting signs up on peoples property w/o permission or support.who ever this ass wipe is will surely lose.and what's up with the Cream vid
It's a lip sync huh? the drums are not in sync
FnS: Second time now, Kristol gives a "partial exception" when condemning Democrats on some "irresponsible position".
"What’s catching your eye in the news or on the blogs this morning?"
Todays MSM lineup:
Republican Talking Head: "blah, blah, blah, bullshit, bullshit, lie, lie, lie"
Democratic Party Talking Head: "straighten up or, or, or, we'll hold our breath 'till we really turn blue, then we'll give you everything you want and tell our brainwashed sheeple that our hands are tied as we wink and nod at our ReTHUGlican friends."
Already posted this in the open thread, but it seems newsworthy:
Just days after Congress passes Lieberman/Kyl amendment, Iran's parliament votes to declare the CIA and US Army as terrorist organizations.
mudshark @ 16
I can't believe anyone would just think they could put their campaign signs out on anyone's property, but apparently that jerkoff sure did. I hope someone goes to jail for it.
And as far as the Cream vid, well, you'd have to ask reddhedd about that. I like it though.
FnS: After a lengthy on the consequences of the Democratic debate and its possible positive effect for Republicans (again Fox shows its partisan preferences), there was not ONE mention of the recent Republican debate.
Gee, I wonder why?
(that should read: "lengthy discussion on")
tyree @ 6:
By Morse code through tapping their feet.
I was no fan of Bill Clinton even though he was an easy target of his GOP foes. Yes, the GOP deliberately attacked Clinton most of the time for no good reason but Wee Willie also enabled them to do so. I supported and defended Clinton when he was constantly attacked only out of fairness, by his GOP haters, but this does not mean I liked his conservative-like economic policies and his neoliberal economic agenda. Clinton was a conservative Democrat who used populist rhetoric and symbolism to get away with embracing a very conservative agenda which did away with the New Deal of FDR for good. Clinton ended "welfare as we know it," thus putting many single mothers already living under the poverty line in worse straits than they were no matter how Bill Clinton likes to boast about his b.s. welfare reform bill, which helped put way more people onto the homeless rolls and into prisons, than it did otherwise. More blacks went to prison during Clinton's 8 years as president than went to the big house under the administration's of Reagan (8 years) and Bush, Sr. (4 years) combined. Just remember than DADR was a failure just as healthcare reform was a loser under Clinton. Clinton also waged a unilateral war in the Balkans when he as president as well. Clinton also bombed Iraq and continually did so in the "no fly zones" the entire time he wa president. Clinton did not exacly have much care for the sick and starving Iraqi children either denying them food and medicine and then having Madeleine Albright say it was "worth it" to Leslie Stahl on 60 Minutes. Clinton's hands are not exactly clean in the matter of Iraq either.
Bill Clinton's new book is a lot of hot air as he continunes to run with the fat cats of money and wealth who are into philanthropy. Big Deal. Thank Bill for ending the New Deal so he can run around with his Big Deal fat cat pals who fund his new project. Clinton is doing this book for public relations for his wife's candidacy but will never admit to this FACT!!!!!
I would never vote for Hillary Clinton, and only voted for Bill once and still proud that I did not vote for him the first time, either.
justabill@#21...If anyone (particularly Repubs)put up signs on my propert w/o my consent.....they'd come down and go in the trash...if the were booby trapped....well.....lets just say payback is a bitch.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2007/09/30/internationa... Meanwhile back in Darfur....
Once again Newt won't be asked about leaving his wife when she had cancer. He gets to play Mr. moralist and talk about "solutions" the same solutions that led us into a 2 trillion dollar war and led to Katrina and the MN bridge collapsing
http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/30/us/politics/30watch.html?pagewanted=1&... a little tid bit on Freedom Watch.....these folks are scary.
http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/APWires/headlines/D8RVORKO0.html The SCOTUS...new docket.
Lots of "praise" for McCain from Big Dog. One can only wonder if he's intentionally trying to shake up the GOP race.
Iran MPs condemn US 'terrorists'
The guards force was established after the Islamic revolution in 1979
Iranian MPs have voted to classify the US armed forces and the CIA as terrorist groups.
I'm actually sad to see Newt no run. He was the primary reason Bill Clinton was so popular. He has such high negatives it may have helped Hillary even in the primary's. He would have at least galvanized the democrats to vote against him. I would suppose someone told him that because the man is a total disgrace to humanity!
Newty on This Week: "A majority of Americans oppose issues Democrats support: keeping "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance, capital gains taxes, Making English the official language..."
The big three! Forget about those superfluous issues like "the Iraq War" and "global warming". What most voters want is a candidate that will oppose flag burning because THAT is the major issue that will be on voters minds when they go to the polls!
Actually I believe Newt was against us going into Iraq. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Most paleo conservatives were against going. Remember it was the Neo cons/ lead by the Chalibi's and the ignorant and radical Zionist who brought us this war. Go ahead and call me an anti semite for saying Zionist. I know it is not the politically correct thing to say but it is the truth!
Did anyone catch Bill Kristol saying something to the effect of "Anytime I hear about children suffering, I usually support it"?
Is the use of words like "odious bastard" really necessary? And do you even know what "fickle" means? Because it's used wrong in this context. Personal attacks like this -- and the "Betray us" ad -- gain us no advantage, win no hearts and minds, and only give the other side a window of opportunity to change the subject from the horrendous policies of the administration to the "shrillness" of the Democrats. I'm just one dude here, but I'd find a nicer way of communicating in this post.
War is good for business.
[...] - Sunshine of Your Love Christy Hardin Smith posted this to Crooks and Liars. From 1968 - a sweet Sunday [...]
Does anyone else think Newt Gingrich is a very very weird name? Just sayin'...
“A majority of Americans oppose issues Democrats support: keeping “under God” in the Pledge of Allegiance, capital gains taxes, Making English the official language…”
Newt, will keeping "under God" in the pledge, and making english our official language, make one bit of difference in my health insurance premiums going up 10% each year, or help the nations debt, or win the war on terror, or keep big brother from reading my emails, or secure the borders, or keep your patriotic corporate friends from taking all of our good jobs from going overseas????
Please Newt, keep talking about the "real issues" like the words in our pledge....
