Mike's Blog Round Up
Hey kids, it's SteveAudio back again, and it Friday! What kind of sounds do we have today?
Torture chambers where John Doe's remain nameless, hear me?. . . Right-wingers keep on quibbling smugly over the definition of torture. And you can send a letter to your Senator about torture, if you think they'll listen. And If waterboarding isn’t used, why can’t anyone comment on it?
Got no human grace, your eyes without a face. . . My crime? Violating Facebook's Terms of Service by not using my "real name." It was just about the worst thing that I could do. . . Kevin Drum saves us all the most unpleasantest task of all, documenting the Worst Blog Posts Evah!
He's all of 31 and he's only 17, he's been a soldier for a thousand years. . . On a serious note, the man who dropped the atom bomb on Hiroshima died.
I'm gonna get ya', get ya' ,get ya', get ya'. . . GWBush says we should be real scared of some Bin Laden dude. And he's a real happenin' dude cuz he's all about the bloggerz. But remember, he once read a book called "Bin Laden Determined to Strike In US," except, well, he can't read.
We have another new song for you today, all about Friday. And we have an extra credit quiz: Who in this band has more famous younger brothers, and what band are they in? As always, send any tips or song requests to steveaudio at earthlink dot net, with Blog Round Up as the title
Back tomorrow, for the last time, we'll blow the roof off the joint. Oh, and get here early, 'cause the manager forgot to order the extra case of Guinness. Slacker.

Clinton's Fundraiser Raises Questions
ADAM GOLDMAN and JIM KUHNHENN | November 1, 2007 08:25 PM EST |

or is the government going after hillary for political reasons?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW YORK — On the wall of Hsiao Yen Wang's apartment, a cramped, 17th-floor public housing unit on the city's Lower East Side, are photographs of her husband, David Guo, a cook who specializes in Fujian cuisine.
One photo stands out: Guo shaking Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's hand, a memento from a $1,000-a-person fundraiser for the New York senator held in New York's Chinatown last April.
Guiness?! Murphys Stout is way better than that pedestrian beer.
BTW- Hello to C&L from a long time lurker and first time responder.
Another casualty of the Bush Regime, the Everglades. Thanks to BushCo and their wars we no longer have Clinton's record budget surplus (I know, I know, 9/11 changed everything!!) to put out California wild fires in a timely fashion, to help rebuild New Orleans, to rebuild levees and restore bridges. Now another victim of Bush's long arm of death, destruction, cronism and budget busting, the rapidly dying Everglades. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/02/us/02everglades.html?pagewanted=1
The "pro-life" preznit is going to see how much he can kill off before he slithers out of office.
Ruthless People @ 3:
C'mon Ruthless dontcha know? There ain't no money 'cept fuh the presiDUNCE's wars!
The media really missed the rich irony in Bush suggesting that the Democrats not be influenced by far left organizations WHILE AT THE HERITAGE FOUNDATION! Some interesting commentary:

52% of Americans support military action against Iran? That's bogus War Party Propaganda. Now ask people if they, PERSONALLY, would be willing to fight in Iran. See what kind of numbers you get then.

Good roundup.. Now if we can preserve Net Neutrality we won't have to worry about the attacks on bloggers Bush keeps talking about. Find a good group that supports Net Neutrality and please post it, so we can all join it.
Don't forget Flash And The Pan
The POAC site was hacked like a mofo yesterderday...I blame BushCo!
Is it the White House or the Kremlin that's located in Washington DC???

Hi Nicole,
This comment doesn't relate to this post. It's an observation. I've noticed on several occasions that you've referenced Mr. William Kristol as "William "The Bloody" Kristol". Frankly it's been annoying me for quite some time now. It's my understanding that "Bloody" has traditionally refererred to actions undertaken by the person in question, denoting them as well 'bloodthirsty',or, associtated with personal letting of blood. That is the exact opposite of Mr. Kristol. The nearest that "man" has come to 'blood letting' is when he fainted during a routine blood test. He is no more bloody than I am - infact infintely less so. This is a "man" that advocates blood letting while in no way wants to actually be a part of it. I suggest you re name him "Willaim " The Kat" Kristol... because he's a pussy... a pussycat.... someone of such low self esteem should not be given such an "interactive" nomenclature when it is so ill deserved.
Thanks very much for the link! I wrote my senators late last night about Mukasey after I saw they were undecided (Talking Points Memo has a good tally sheet). The Heretik makes a good point, Swift and Drum are funny, and that PDB and Bush's response, "All right, you've covered your ass now," can't be brought up enough.
Fascist States of America @ 13:
14 more months of this miscreant being in power. God help us all!!!!!
easybeats rule. lots of covers of "friday on my mind" out there (check iTunes store), but none as powerful as the 1967 original.
Questions to right wingers: Are there any waterboarding techniques that you would disapprove being used on our soldiers? If so, what are they?
If not, that's ok. You have no objections about the enemy taking such actions against our troops.
keith @ 18:
They don't give a damn. They aren't going to be tortured because they aren't going to enlist. They are selfish, narcissistic, sociopaths.
Dr. Acula @ 16:
He don't give a shit about nothin if ain't helpin his fuckin war! We need to get him and the entire administration the fuck out of DC!!!
"Extra Credit Quiz" answer: Angus and Malcolm Young from AC/DC....
Denton @ 14:
Hehehe, I thought at first you were actually defending "the kat" lol!!! Nice!
a REAL leader: Dennis Kucinich~
"Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) announced he would move to force a vote next week on his resolution calling for the impeachment of Vice President Dick Cheney.
Kucinich said he plans to introduce a privileged resolution, which would have priority for a House floor vote, on Nov. 6. A vote on the measure would be required within two days.
Observers expect a motion to table Kucinich's resolution, which has 21 Democratic co-sponsors. It is almost certain that such a move to kill the resolution would be successful, but activists are urging members of Congress to support Kucinich's move."
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Kucinich_says_he_will_force_House_1102.html
time to get off the fence dems, Kucinich is the only candidate that is willing to put it all on the line to hold cheney accountable. if this resolution makes it to the floor for a vote, any dem that does NOT support impeachment is not worth their weight in barney shit. seriously. any dem that does not vote for impeachment of the cheney MUST be removed from office, shunned and ridiculed.
Theres this little known and loved company called the RIAA (collection of Lawyers for the big four record companies)
and they tend to sue people who share or download music off the internet, including children and dead people.
draconian threats of $250,000 per track and the people who share/download are worse than terrorists, and deserve to rot in hell etc, taking the bread out of poor starving pop stars mouths, cant afford a third mansion, or a forth limo etc etc
Then you have EMI, one of the big four record companys which make up the RIAA, plus the swarm of smaller ones than need to be members of, because its hard or impossible to get access to CD pressing plants if you are not RIAA affiliated.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMI
Well shock horror it seems that EMI are selling, downloading, pirating music they dont have the rights to...
Will they be sued by the RIAA in a court case and charged $250,000 per track to compensate for lose of revenue ?
http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/10/30/fripp-lays-music-...
It would be amusing to see the RIAA sue itself in court.
