Brent Wilkes: Guilty on 13 counts!

San Diego:

A U.S. District Court jury has convicted Brent Wilkes on all 13 counts in his corruption trial. The Poway defense contractor had been accused by prosecutors of leveraging more than $600,000 in cash bribes and thousands more in gifts to ousted Rep. Randy Duke Cunningham in exchange for Cunningham's influence in securing more than $80 million in government contracts.

I can't wait to see all of the mofos rolled over into jail, because of this investigation and also the Abramoff case.

Shouldn't there be more of this at least beginning in the courts?

With luck, more of these no-bid contracts (and no performance contracts0 will come under fire for this.

How long will they drag out the appeals process?

So, when are they gonna get Ducan (cover) Hunter and his useless airplane? If the military doesn't want it, why the hell keep dumping public $ into the project? Occam's razor makes me think there's some funny business, altho, not so crude as Cunningscam's.
Might be a little bit of money in walling off Mexico too.
For you non-californians, San Diego county is not nearly as red as Kern county which is similar to Kansas, but SD does remind one of Oklahoma. How else could we have Reps. like Cunningham, Hunter, Issa, and Bilbray?

Wilkes won't roll over..but at least these guys are starting to fall like dominoes. YAY!

As a current resident of Kern county, I can attest its the reddest county in CA..San Diego runs a close second or third however..I am also a native San Diegan.

Good morning America ... much is being said on this side of the globe about corruption in US government. Not that other governments are not corrupt, but rather that this is a bad sign for the Peace of the world. When America lost it's bearings it through the rest of the world off balance.

That guiding light of Freedom and Democracy are looked at askance by many people in the pubs and restaurants in this part of the world. The situation in the US is being regarded as very fearful, and now with Pakistan erupting people the world over are worried because they feel the US has been terribly weakened by the present War in Iraq.

What are people there talking about in the bars and restaurants or hotel lobbies? I'd like to know if Americans in the States are taking this as serious as it is to the rest of the world.

I grew up in San Diego too, and now live in Kern. From neocon red to redneck red. I feel more comfortable in the redneck red, the scandals and corruption in San Diego Co. are harder for me to stomach.

I don't know about bars, restaurants or hotel lobbies, but I can assure you amongst my circle of friends that the current situation in Pakistan is causing some serious worries. The damned thing is that this entire scenario was predicted as a likely consequence if bush invaded Iraq.

bush has turned America's problems into a plague infecting the entire world.

Will Brent Wilkes turn evidence with prosecutors for good time and early parole?

Maybe this is a good time towaterboard Wilkes to find the ticking time corruption bomb about to steal from our Governnment at anymoment?

Just have to wonder if there isn't a pardon in Cheney's heartless chest that will slip into George's consciousness?

Duncan Hunter and Jerry Lewis to follow. BTW, what's that little weasel Ralph Reed doing lately? Slithering under rocks, I suppose.

I'm wondering how many other politicians he corrupted.

John Doolittle from up here in gold country must have taught several classes in rock slithering, but as you can see they are getting to him as well.

It kind of makes you wonder if the RePUGs actually thought that Cunninghams ass in a cell would quell this?

I smell a commutation of sentence coming... Let's see how many days this guy actually spends in Fed Hilton. My guess is, none.

And the problem is that Wilkes dont need to bring anything up to get the sentence cummuted and he would be better off to not say a thing because he know which side he has to impress that he is a good RePUG.

I get the feeling that from Bush on down, these guys are going to are just going to Dubai or Agentina or be protectected here in this country at great expense to us all.

Of course this means that they relinquish power.

Another right-winger goes down. Another un-American right-winger goes down. Another right-winger is caught without his pretty white sheets over his head. ;)
