New Documentary: Where in the world is Osama bin Laden?
By SilentPatriot Friday Apr 04, 2008 4:00pm
Nicole showed some of this some weeks ago as it was going through the film festival circuit, but it's opening wide this weekend. Morgan Spurlock, the genius who brought you "Super Size Me," now brings us "Where in the World is Osama bin Laden?", a side-splitting quest to hunt down the world's number one most-wanted man.

I'd say he prob shows up for work daily at the CIA, but under different names.
i know where bin laden's at. he's in the land of honah lee, kicking it with the easter bunny.
either that or he's still hiding out in denny hastert's cavernous belly button...
Where is the son-of-a-bitch? Wasn't Bush supposed to find him and bring him to justice? Oh Yeah, I remember when Bush said he wasn't really looking for him. Bin Laden is still out there. Talk about an injustice!
I know, he shaved and is working at my local 7-11...I swear!
theres no such thing as the boogie man
P.D. @ 3:
What does it matter? He was cheered fighting those evil red Soviets, then blamed for EVERY act of terrorism ever committed against the United States. Just a tad convenient. The man, the myth and the legend are as much to blame for acts of terror, as the US government itself. A bit hypocritical to heap scorn and seek revenge on someone supposedly responsible for killing few in comparison to democratic world leaders.
He's probably lying in a freezer in the basement of the White House, to be pulled out a week before election day.
"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him."
- G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
"I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"
- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI
"...Secondly, he is not escaping us. This is a guy, who, three months ago, was in control of a county [sic]. Now he's maybe in control of a cave. He's on the run. Listen, a while ago I said to the American people, our objective is more than bin Laden. But one of the things for certain is we're going to get him running and keep him running, and bring him to justice. And that's what's happening. He's on the run, if he's running at all. So we don't know whether he's in cave with the door shut, or a cave with the door open -- we just don't know...."
- Bush, in remarks in a Press Availablity with the Press Travel Pool,
The Prairie Chapel Ranch, Crawford TX, 12/28/01, as reported on
official White House site
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
- G.W. Bush, 3/13/02
"I am truly not that concerned about him."
- G.W. Bush, repsonding to a question about bin Laden's whereabouts,
3/13/02 (The New American, 4/8/02)
I saw this earlier in the week and it's massively disappointing. It's glib, insulting, and basically the big lesson is "Hey, not EVERYONE is the Middle East hates us." Very little on our foreign policy. Very little on Bin Laden's history. And not a single interview with a U.S. intelligence official, discussion WHY Bin Laden is still at large.
Oh, but we get a nice segment of Spurlock learning self-defense techniques he'll never use Hahahahaha-fuckthisfilm.
P.D. @ 3:
you're getting warmer. got a little online research to do, though.
things indeed are not as they may have once seemed.
gosh, i can't wait until c&l has an all-out open 9/11 thread... *sigh*
Terrorists Found!
Bin Laden is either in Bush's Texas ranch, the white house basement, or hanging with Cheney.
Here's a picture of where he was...

you're missing the point of the film, bubba. It's point was not to "find" bin ladan. That is a job for intelligence officers and CIA operatives. The point of the documentary is to show how little the bush pissant has done to bring him to justice now that he's not so needed as an international boogie man.
He's not in Iraq.
Sallah:
But boosh knows it.

regarding the bin laden tale, i'd say america's beginning to wake up from a long slumber, not unlike the famous groundhog did back in february.
will america be afraid of her own shadow, and go back to sleep?
New Documentary: Where in the world is Osama bin Laden?
Same place Waldo is
I have heard many hear say 'we have the goverment we deserve.'
While this may in fact be true - Isn't that a good arguement for other countries to stock pile weapons of mass distruction so that they can defend themselves against our stupidity?
Levi @ 20:
Levi, that's a hoax. A prank. Staged. Faked.
bullfrog @ 21:
More like the tale of RIP VAN WINCKLE...
We have a history of sleep that predates WALDO
Well he's clearly not living in a cave, he needs kidney dialysis for a starters, and i doubt very much he's lived in an afghan cave for 7 years through all those harsh winters, he's probably in pakistan living in semi luxury.
sure is side-splitting to do a Borat-style "I meet funny people, ask idiotic questions and dress oddly" rather than describe any of the geopolitical background. But hey, maybe he'll surprise me. The next Fahrenheit 9/11 would be OK.
Andy K Jong Il @ 24:
You'd like to think that I am sure. But stupid is as stupid does.
andy @ 26:
He got a freakin TRANSPLAT a long time ago.
Bush sent him a get well card and a billion bucks.
Has anyone outher seen Stop-Loss yet? I haven't- wondering if it's any good.
ConcernedCanuck @ 1:
Yeah didn't Rush Limbaugh say he went by the name Valerie Plame once?
Sorry, that's just tasteless. - and all though I am going to see the movie I can't help but feel I would find the idea funnier if so many of our soldieres hadn't died on the bullshit hunt for this asshole.
He's running against Hillary Clinton! Anyhoo, this movie has potential as long as it has a point at the end.
Where in the world is Osama Bin Laden?

3 P.D. Says: Where is the son-of-a-bitch? Wasn’t Bush supposed to find him and bring him to justice?
No, what Bush said is he would smoke him out...so Dubya showed up at the secret cave, knocked on the door (if it was closed) and went in to smoke some crack (or whatever it is Dubya likes to smoke) with his buddy Binny!

L.A. Confidential @ 37:

Levi @ 28:
Dude, dude, dude....
The first "shot" clearly "hits" below the guy holding the target, kicking up dirt, and the "narratator" asks if the Afghan hit the target.
After the target-holder is hit, the "narrator" says, "Oh shit," then you hear guys laughing.
This is probably an April Fools Day type of thing, made pretty professionally by Armed Forces TV (I can't quite make out the identifier on the vid), using squibs(and two squibs are pretty cheap). It's just gallows humor by and for the troops. Get a grip.
L.A. Confidential @ 37:
I thought that was Osama Bush Cheney
If you look at the top 10 wanted list of the FBI you'll see that Osama is NOT wanted for 9/11. They say that they have no evidence that he was responsible for it. The supposed confession video is an obvious fake that the goverment has trotted out to make him the boogie man. The goverment has alot to explain about 9/11 and of course the "liberal" media isn't asking for any answers. They trot out every new Bin Laden video and tell us to be afraid, be very afraid. It's all crap. If the world was so full of terrorists just itching to strike in the name of Allah, where are they? All we ever hear about is how the security forces have stopped another attempted attack. Like the Florida 7 or the group that was going to go shoot up that army base. Don't forget the group that was planning on blowing up airplanes over the Atlantic. They'd have to sit there in their seats shaking bottles to make the explosives. Gee, would anyone have thought that was just a little peculiar? In other words, the great mass of terrorists that the whole world is so damn scared of is mostly a product of the imaginations of the Bush gang.
I'm not saying that there aren't people out there who'd like to do harm to the United States, there's probably millions of them, after all the damage that U.S. foreign policy has wreaked across the globe. It's just that all the examples of terrorist activity that we've been shown are so amateur as to be slap-stick comedies.

good try, but no laughs from here
I think they got him in this one Levi.

He's in Crawford Texas. Cheney is gonna flush him out of the brush and shoot him in the face two days before the next election. Saved from turrurists by the gun-toten, god-fearin' republican party. Get all thum NRA votes and NASCAR too! Election in the bag.
Shooter: Here run out there and hold this target over hour head and I'll sight in my gun.
Target Holder: OK but hurry up this thing is heavy.
Shooter: Here run out there and hold this target over your head and I’ll sight in my gun.
Target Holder:OK but on the ride home you sit in the middle.

Scrapiron @ 52:
Poor old Scrapiron, doesn’t know what a false flag operation is and thinks everything is always what it seems!
So what do you do with these injured dogs you pick up on the interstate?
[Deleted-Sitemonitor]
Were you ever alone with these dogs scrpiron?
bin Laden is playing drums in the same place that Elvis and Jim Morrison are singing.
On my former car (a '91 Geo Metro) I had a bumper sticker that said "I saw Elvis" (and I did - he was at a gas station in Cleveland, Texas)
When will we see the humorous "I saw Usama" stickers?
Thats all you got scrapie. OK to summarize.
You pick up injured dogs at accident scenes, grab the dog and leave, you have your way with an injured animal for who knows how long then you drop it off.
Scrapiron @ 50:
I'll bet you're a hit with the ladies, Clyde.
Scrapiron @ 55:
"scrapiron" would make a great g.i. joe handle.
why don't you sign up for iraq, scrapiron? there you can play real-life g.i. joe, 24-7.
maybe your specialty could be rummaging through iraqi junkyards to find scrap iron to armor the vehicles, since your chimp-in-chief refuses to do so?
i say, feed the troll 'til he 'splodes!!
This movie shows as much taste and sensitivity as Bush playing a gag for the press dinner... pretending he's looking for WMDs. I don't see ANY humor or irony or anything else.
what i BELIEVE is that the "fix" was in to protect Bin Laden a long time ago. The Bush crime family and the Bin Ladens have been in bed together for a long time. W, in the White House, is just protecting one of his own... you know, one of his daddy's extended business "family" members. Simple as that.
morgan spurlock sucks.
you wanna talk "documentaries"? spurlock doesn't make documentaries. he makes reality television......
you’re missing the point of the film, bubba. It’s point was not to “find” bin ladan. That is a job for intelligence officers and CIA operatives. The point of the documentary is to show how little the bush pissant has done to bring him to justice now that he’s not so needed as an international boogie man.
frankly, i don't find bush's inability to bring bin laden to justice humorous.
Ther are only two reactions possible to Devine Truths. Ridicule is one of them.
Maybe this ex Prime Minister might know where he was and what happened to him.
Very matter of fact statement and interviewer doesnt bat an eyelid to what he hears.
Osama Bin Laden - 911 Anniversary 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUiNiB2yVCQ&feature=related :-)
Where in the World is Osama bin Laden? Playing "Go Fish" with Dick Cheney via the internets.
This trailer actually makes the film look competent. I saw it at Sundance and it was horrible, horrible, horrible. The funny moments come across as painfully awkward. And he LITERALLY looks for Osama by asking people in an Egyptian mall, "Hey, uh, you know where Osama is?"
A wasted opportunity to expose one of the Bush Administration's biggest screw ups.
I know it sounds harsh, but Spurlock makes this film into a buddy travel movie. And he doesn't feel like my buddy.
ConcernedCanuck @ 6:
What an incredibly absurd thing to say. WHAT DOES IT MATTER? I suspect that most people who read your entire post just glossed over this bit:
Even IF what you say were true, that US and other govt's are guilty of murder and terrorism in the name of the state, your statement sounds like you are saying that there is no point in persuing and prosecuting those who break the law and commit murder BECAUSE the gov't is also breaking the law and committing murder.
How bout we agree that we need to go after BOTH kinds of psycho killers - Osama AND the psychos who are holding the US hostage in a global game of chicken.
The fact that you oppose the law breaking and murder committed by the US gov't of Bush and Cheney, should not mean that you will allow a local hoodlum to steal your car if you can prevent it by locking the doors, or stand by and watch a man beat a woman in public.
So you see, it is as much our duty to advocate the full prosecution of a mass murderer like bin Laden - just like we all agree we should keep Charlie Manson and his ghouls locked up away in prison until they are no longer capable of harming others.
How can you say that Osama does not deserve at least the same punishment as Manson?
Can't...................stop.....................laughing.............................(urk!)
The documentary is something I recommend everyone see, but at it's heart, it has nothing at all to do with Osama Bin Laden, that's just something that exist for marketers to get excited about. You can read my review here, from Sundance this year: http://thedailyapocalypse.blogspot.com/2008/01/new-travelog-sundance-08....
Where in the world is Osama bin Laden: He's dead. That's where he is.
Winkly @ 51:
Hilarious. Goss seems strangely confused and amused when Bush talks about capturing Bin Ladin. "Really mr President? Bin Ladin? Yeah right sure whatever. You say what you have to say and Ill just try my best not to laugh.."
There is a great article about ali ayu al libi or something like that who is being floated as the "next" bin Laden. He "escaped" from a CIA prison (I'm not making this up! it's in the NYT) in Pakistan.
Now. this means that Osama is dead and the CIA is setting up another poster boy dude to "lead" the jihad against the infidels.
lies lies lies yeah, the'll come to get you!
Matt @ 9:
Oh, yes, and the same to you, mattress. bushieboy needs bin laden rubbed in his face every second of each and every day that cretin walks the face of this earth...........IMHO. Have a crappy day, asshat.
MFLUDER @ 70:
In time, it will sink in. Has there been anyone more glib about spetember 11th., than the bushco?? It serves a valuable purpose in exposing just how pathetic bush's bullshit about tracking bin laden to the ends of the earth, or what ever. Remember, bushieboy said we should just all go shopping............so why not head to a mall over there??
I've also heard this movie is pretty weak sauce, unfortunately; a great title that deserved a better movie. I want to make my own mind up but the word out of Sundance has been mixed-to-dismal.
i know! i saw him in that book...um...1984...only he was called "emmanuel goldstein" there!
He is hiding in a closet with the door ajar.
He is in Mecca, where nobody can either catch him or kill him.
McCain the Liar @ 8:
President, and wannabe King & Emperor of the Universe, knows by 2002 that Bin Laden is dead. Benazir Bhutto confirms on BBC interview that Bin Laden was murdered by Sheik Omar. She ends up dead a month later.
Bin Laden is the bogeyman of The New American Elite. Wake up, America. Before you find yourself in a Hitler-esque quasi-religonist feudal society. Oh, wait, you are almost there. And I am an American.
The fact that the guy is going around asking people in mall's "hey do you know where Osama is?" is damn insulting to me. Like, hey, you're a Muslim, you MUST know where he is right?
Dave,
Man, I wish a whole lot more people in this country had the sense that you have. I think it is slowly starting to turn, but I'm afraid it's going to be too little, too late.
