Free Sarah Palin: Campbell Brown goes off on McCain for hiding Palin from the press

When Campbell Brown started off this segment about Palin and sexism, I expected it to be another screed about how "mean" the press is for asking questions about her litany of lies. Instead, Campbell excoriates the McCain campaign for treating Palin as a "delicate flower that will wilt at any moment," arguing that it's sexist to treat her any differently than her male counterparts. Consider this her first "Special Comment."
"Bear with me for a short rant on another subject, because frankly I have had and I know a lot of other women out there are with me on this. I have had enough of the sexist treatment of Sarah Palin. It has to end. She was here in New York City today meeting with world leaders at the UN. And what did the McCain campaign do? They tried to ban reporters from covering those meetings. And they did ban reporters from asking her any questions. Tonight, I call on the McCain campaign to stop treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment. This woman is from Alaska, for crying out loud. She is strong; she is tough; she is competent. And you claim she is ready to be one heartbeat away from the presidency. If that is the case, then end this chauvinistic treatment of her now. Allow her to show her stuff. Allow her to face down those pesky reporters just like Barack Obama did today. Just like John McCain did today. Just like Joe Biden has done on numerous occasions. Let her have a real news conference with real questions. By treating Sarah Palin different from the other candidates in this race, you are not showing her the respect she deserves. Free Sarah Palin. Free her from the chauvinistic chain you are binding her with. Sexism in this campaign must come to an end. Sarah Palin has just as much a right to be a real candidate in this race as the men do. So let her act like one."
UPDATE: (Nicole) It's still happening. Palin gets questions, looks at McCain and demurs

Idiot! Release agent of capitalist oppressors of the vorkers! Make her answer question.
If not done now, vill not be done vhen need to be. Vill be bad.
Ve vill bury the GOP if dis happen.
When is the media going to get it that she can't answer their questions cause she doesn't have the stuff? I mean i know we should be pleased that they are being a little less obvious with their favoritism, but dammit I'm tired of clapping for nothing when they can't tell the damned truth. Bunch of boogerheads!
Even Afghan Prez Karzai Echoes this Sentiment!
http://satiricalpolitical.com/?p=3418
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally a woman has the balls to say what shoul dhave been said weeks ago.....
The McCain people aren't idiots. They know Palin is a boil on the ass of humanity and they know she's too damn loudmouthed not to destroy the whole campaign were she to actually get in front of a actual journalist for more than 3 minutes. They have to keep her under lock and key.
Her only redeeming feature is that she's a hot piece of ass with ass backwards values.
well the rethuglicans seem to like to keep their VP's questionless and barefoot.
Campbell must know it's not a case of chauvinism but rather a matter of political self-preservation on the part of the campaign. Specious argument notwithstanding, I think it's extraordinary that this editorial was permitted to be broadcast. It's like some wacky reverse psychology goading LOL.
What in the world would Palin have to say to a real world leader?
"So, there Mr. Prime Minister of France, do ya like to hunt peasants or did that go out with jousting?"
"Can I call ya Frenchy? I know a trucker from Barrow named Frenchy, I don't know why cause he looks more like a Jew!"
"Seen any witches?"
"Well OK, we'll be seein' ya!"
Palin says country could face another Depression without bailout
Sarah Palin conceded in an interview that America could find itself in another Great Depression without a bailout of Wall Streeet.
"Unfortunately, that is the road that America may find itself on," Palin told CBS's Katie Couric in an interview to air tonight on the Evening News when asked if inaction on the financial crisis could trigger another economic collapse.
"Not necessarily this as it's been proposed has to pass or we're gonna find ourselves in another Great Depression. But there has got to be action taken, bipartisan effort-- Congress not pointing fingers at this point at-- at one another but-- finding the solution to this-- taking action, and being serious about the reforms on Wall Street that are needed."
___________________
Can someone explain what she's saying?
Perhaps the McCain camp knows more than we do....
McCain holding the Press back from Sarah has absolutely nothing to do about sexism. Sarah is a dumb shit about U.S. foreign policy.
It is embarrassing that John McCain actually allowed her to meet with world leaders presenting herself as a representative of Americans. Pathetic and embarrassing.
But more than that John McCains pick is dangerous
No suprise they're keeping her under wraps. Every time I hear her speak she proves to me beyond a shadow of a doubt she doesn't belong within 100 miles of the WH, at least not in an official capacity. The thought of this person becoming our next president if McGrandpa tips over is scarry beyond belief.
You would have to be pretty stupid to take this at its face value. Clearly Ms Brown is not defending Palin but setting her up as she, a woman, can do. There is no evidence of sexism in McCain's treatment of Palin. He is just afraid to let folks see her.
This is a pretty cool move by Brown..
"Should I have answered that?"
"No, you witless c*nt." (creepy smile)
Won’t the MSM be shocked when they discover there is no there there.
Asking questions is sexist and disrespectful and it will not be tolerated. ROFL
Campbell Brown is a sexist.
John J @ 9:
Wow! She's the "error" apparent to Wanton Boy in the garbled obfuscation/gibberish department ...
Uh.. you know the word 'complicity'? Palin is grateful for the protection from the press. Even she with her super ego knows that she does not have the qualifications to answer questions on national or international events or to be the VP of the USA. McCain should be removed from the Republican ticket for this massive blunder.
John J @ 9:
It's a grab-bag of catchphrases.
I am not sure sexism has anything to do with it. They know she is an empty vessel (vassal?) and that it will take about 5 minutes of questioning to reveal that she's only capable of delivering of mean-spirited speeches put together for her by a team of writers.
Slight correction SilentP. I believe she said "confident" not competent. I could be wrong. My hearing isn't what it used to be. I think Palin's competence has yet to be tested by any questions.
alert c&L bloggers. Bernanke and Paulson are up. Are you thinking about doing a thread for comments?
http://www.c-span.org/Watch/C-SPAN3_rm.aspx
Maybe her voice is changing.
McSame is starting to regret having celebrated 'Take your Daughter to Work' Day.
Schadenfreude.. BillO gets hacked.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26870105/
The repugs are very good at this. they've been hiding Bush for 7.8 years.
An oblique kudo for Palin by Campbell Brown, a republican hack. You almost feel sorry for Palin they way Brown put's it, as if Palin is an innocent victim. Personally, it think Browns angle is caca!
it's certainly not "sexist treatment." it's called "don't put her in front of reporters 'cuz she doesn't know what she's talking about."
mccain would have kept a male VP as stupid as her from the media, too.
I wonder if the questions for the Vice Presidential debates will be published so her speech writers can answer all those questiond for her too. Or will she wear a wire like Shrub?
They are preparing. They are going to steal our money and then... well, just read it.

This is not about "freeing" Sarah Palin. She's running for the highest office in the land. Hiding her insults the intelligence of every American. If she can't handle the job interview, she doesn't deserve the job. Period.
The tacical reason for her to stay away from nasty questions is to avoid mistakes and avoid proving what a foolish choice she was.
However...
Consider for a moment why she's there. Is it possible that a reason why she's "demurring" to McCain and staying largely silent is to appeal to ultra-conservatives (and their wads of cash) whose view of women has never gotten too far from "barefoot and pregnant" and deferential to men?
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/
It is beginning to look as if Ms Brown has been peeking over at Rachel Maddow and getting the notion that it is just fine to be an intelligent, clever and outspoken woman in her position. She has been standing tall the past few weeks and it is refreshing. Makes that midget Blitzer look like that shreaking mindless troll he has always been.
Gotta wonder how the Rethugs are spinning the shielding...
Folks, of course it's not sexism. Brown was just being cute.
Personally, I wish she went with more righteous anger than cuteness, but hey.
Whatever. The press has rendered itself irrelevant over the past decade or so. The McCain campaign is just laughing at them, because they know that no matter what the press says, the press no longer matters. It's the media's own fault that McCain can behave this way.
Brown doesn't know her place, McCain should delay the Friday debate and spend some time schooling her on how to be a woman.
Maybe Palin is being punished for saying " the Palin McCain Administration". She's grounded for not showing her elder any respect by trying to steal the presidency from him. That ungrateful little bitch. Doh.
Just heard on tv that McCain is suspending his campaign for now to go to DC and work on the bailout issue. McCain is saying that Obama should do the same thing.
fastfeat @ 35:
They're doing what they always do. They're blaming the liberal media. They're saying that they're above the bad spin the liberal media will put on Palin's good and pure message.
chicano2nd @ 28:
Are the people on this site immune to both satire and irony? She nailed the McCain campaign in a very effective way by attributing Palin's seclusion to sexism. So what's the McCain answer to the charge of sexism going to be: It's not sexism keeping that's keeping Palin under wraps, it's ignorance.
OMG - McCain is asking that the Friday debate be postponed.
WUSS!
Get a new post up STAT!!!!
you hide what you don't want people to see. palin is
NOT prepared...does NOT have the appropriate national/federal experience to be commander in chief.
if mccain is unable to serve after jan/09 palin would
step in as commander in chief....this is of great concern.
this was poor judgement by john mccainIII. obviously
mccain would rather win an election than provide
the appropriate leadership.
happy @ 38:
No, Palin is being punished for being Palin -- the necessary, final piece of McCain's soul he had to sell in order to have a shot at the White House. If they allow her to answer questions, she'll do so, and then the world will see what a lunatic she is.
We should expect that we don't hear from her up until the debate, at which time she will have her script down. From there we won't hear from her until a week before the election where she will make a brief scripted announcement. No questions will be asked of her. The interview with Mr. Gibson gave her an opportunity to regurgitate information without expounding (she did show that she is good at avoiding the question), and well we all know that she had no good practice taking serious questions with Hannity. The public will be left with MSM coverage of her, which if it's very little, could be a bad thing for dems.
pissed off patricia @ 39:
What a wimp ass! Mccain has apparently not been voting on these issues for a long time, too busy campaigning. He can help the situation by debating the problem. THis is just cover for him - he's running scared. He wants to grandstand for political reasons in the senate chamber instead of in open debate. obama better not let him off the hook.
When Palin and McCain are together she upstages McCain. If they took questions, probably all the questions would be for her. I don't think McCain likes her and I doubt he likes her getting all the attention. By keeping her away from public scrutiny, he's only hurting her. People just assume that there is something to hide.
dBa @ 37:
whatever!
WOW. You'd almost think that Campbell is, you know, like a REAL journalist instead of just another repuglican shill.
Great snark, Campbell.
Bag O'Hammers @ 33:
I don't think so. I think it's that the McCain campaign folks got caught with their pants down over the hasty and unexpected choice of Palin as a running-mate. Made worse by progressive revelations of scandals and gaffes.. they're probably on full-time Palin damage control as it is already.
Add to that McCain's own record of bad attitudes towards the press.. and I guess this is pretty much what you'd expect.
The problem (for them) though, is that no one ever won an election by not being seen. And no one ever won sympathy from the press by complaining about them.
Peter G @ 41:
One does get the feeling that some posters would condemn Jonathon Swift for exploiting the poor to make his point. Poe's Law strikes in many ways.
mccain asking to delay debate....due to 'bailout'
whadaya bet she gets the questions a week before the debate.
What a embarrassment.. Insult #1, Picking her. Insult #2, Picking her to get the "Woman" vote. Caribou Barbie is an idiot at best, and egotistical beyond belief.
rick street @ 47:
I agree! He better do the debate or he will look like a total weasel. I would like to know the last time he showed up on the Senate floor to vote.
My feeling is Dolly Parton might make a pretty good V.P. Do the republicans have any wiggle room on this?
Yellow Elephant Safari @ 50:
Almost, but the press suddenly feels burned by the atmosphere it has helped create.
Oh sure, first the debate, then they will try to cancel the election if congress won't budge on the bailout. I say let them. Obama shouldn't take over if the assholes empty our bank. Let all this be on their heads.
49 constituent Says: dBa @ 37:
Brown doesn’t know her place, McCain should delay the Friday debate and spend some time schooling her on how to be a woman.
whatever!
=====================================
Are you considering the fact that McCain is not schooled up enough to debate?
Dhalgren @ 42:
Just say NO to Rethug tactics!
Obama should say--"Lack of planning on your part doesnt constitute an emergency on my part!"
Peter G@41
Are you not immune to satire and irony. What do you know about Campbell Brown that makes her spill satirical and ironic that does't seem to come out in the little video screen. I want to laugh, believe me. I am in a muffled chuckle right now but could use a hearty outburst.
short video. listen to Palin answer a energy question.
you tell me if this sounds like the 'leading energy expert
of the united states' which is what mccain claimed of
palin.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvUsdmqGYV8&eurl=http://thinkprogress.org/
As far as I'm concerned, the GOP is deathly afraid of putting Sarah Palin out there. I think they know that everytime she opens her mouth she draws in more disrespect. And the MSM brouhaha last night demonstrated that if they allowed full disclosure of this woman they'd find themselves even more the laughing stock of not the country, but internationally.
Sarah doesn't need to be freed, per se. She just needs to be rendered useless where she doesn't have any impact, locally, nationally and internationally.
chris [not the troll] @ 43:
I just heard that on the news. All I can say is that McCain is a coward. He had to pull out in order to get the upper hand again.
I have seen some clips of her in town hall meetings and honestly, the woman cannot bring her ideas across. It's almost like a computer malfunctioning and just spouting out nonsense.
this is bullshit! she's just begging for the opportunityto praise plain's 'courage' and 'momness'. the media just wants something to lap up and call electability.
New strategy: Palin speak to no one so we can tell them what you think.
McCain suspend your campaign like a patriot and we'll tell the public what you meant to say without even having to misspeak! Saves time!
I say keep it up! Keep hiding her. I like that McCain is back to implosion mode.
McCain is an Old Jerk Off and he will always be an Old Jerk Off.
Indeed. Let's see this "stuff" Sarah Palin has.
pissed off patricia @ 56:
http://projects.washingtonpost.com/congress/110/senate/vote-missers/
Amalink @ 2:
Precisely. It's not necessarily her sex that's making Davis keep her away from the press. McCain and Davis are employing her sex appeal as much as they can get away with. The reason that she won't hold a press conference is because she can't. Her incompetence, unpreparedness, and wingnuttiness make an interactive event too much of a risk. She's been repeating the same talking points and lies for the past four weeks, even the ones that have been thoroughly debunked.
And this comment by Brown smacks of a dogwhistle -- at least that's how the conservative base will hear it. Translation: the Media is going to be harder on her because she's a woman, therefore McCain has to keep her away from the mean, chauvinist reporters.
I'm sorry, but I don't think Campbell Brown is helping. At the very least, it's a perception of sexism without much proof, especially when there are plenty of other reasons to keep Palin in a bubble.
yeh! let the dope speak!
John J @ 9:
Permit me to translate Republican to English for you. "It's no time for finger pointing" means "it's unpatriotic to expose us"
Sarcasm people, sarcasm.
Does anyone really think McCain wants to delay the debate to 'deal with teh economy? Of course not...
And if anyone thinks McCain didn't mutter "that bitch" after learning of Brown's rant, you're kidding yourselves.
Just put the two together and have some fun.
Love it! It really is true! If they thought Palin knew her butt from a hole in the ground, they'd let her out of her chains and let her be known.
This was a sweet ploy from Brown. The NeoCons have owned the word "sexism" since Palin's debut, but now Brown's reclaimed it. HAHAHAHAHA

'sexism' was/is just a shield they developed to protect
palin....we see it....but certain dumbographics don't.
it's nothing but nonsense. this was carly f. position
telling us we shouldn't ask any questions of palin.
to me they are winning this battle with 40 days to go
and palin hasn't held a info. news questionaire...i want
random questioning.
palin could be exposed easily. rove said the dems.
should get back to challenging mccain. i don't totally
agree....palin is mccain. they are a team.
Sorry for the dupe...
Is palin a shrinking violet or a shrieking violet?
Ms. Brown did not say "competent". She said "confident". Big difference. Maybe you should edit the blog.
Maybe John Labruzzo could pay Palin a thousand bucks to step aside, so McCain can select a competent person for his running mate.
as of right now, this debate delay was a good move by
the mccain campaign. obama will have to agree.
mccain is looking bad right now. obama could have
really knocked him down ,in front of the public amongst
this financial crisis.
Ummm, Campbell...I know your heart is in the right place and everything, but face the facts...
Sarah Palin is just like that little Chinese girl who was trotted out to lip synch their national anthem during the Olympic opening ceremonies. She's there just for looks; the campaign knows she can't sing for shit, and there's no way they want reporters looking behind the Wizard of Oz's curtain.
You want to be insulted about something, be insulted that Palin's entire nomination is itself a chauvinist act. The campaign thought that a hot pair of legs and a hell bent for the Reckoning was a substitute for actual qualifications. Voters of both genders everywhere should be insulted that we're expected to consider her a credible candidate.
All the "catchy", hot, phrases have been ALREADY used repeatedly to the hilt, and beyond. People are starting to want "real" answers, and they have NONE. Just more doom and gloom, and war.
"Privatization!!" "Deregulation!!" "DRILL BABY DRILL!! DRILL BABY DRILL!!" "Bomb, bomb, bomb,...bomb, bomb Iran!"
In just the few bush terms, we've seen disaster after disaster. People loosing everything. Too many dying. Oil prices skyrocket almost overnight. Financial elitests claim overnight (literally) it's all totally F***** U*!
These elitests know we've HAD ENOUGH, and are making a last ditch attempt to overthrow our system of government. They made the masses of it's "people" poor, now they are doing the EXACT SAME THING to our system of government. Just like oil, they made an all out assault on "democracy" and the American way.
These "elitests" are law breaking criminals of the worst kind, and have PROVEN IT. They have HIJACKED capitalism to the dark side, and shown what deregulation and immunity can do. They have transferred ALL our savings and hopes, into their sheer, repeated, record profits. It MUST end NOW.
Free Sarah Palin: Campbell Brown goes off on McCain for hiding Palin from the press
Allow (sarah)to show her stuff.
Free Sarah Palin. Free her from the chauvinistic chain you are binding her
_____________________________________________________________________
Is it just me or is all this talk about exhibitionism and bondage a turn-on?
re: "UPDATE: (Nicole) It’s still happening. Palin gets questions, looks at McCain and demurs..."
that's what's going to happen after she becomes president...
"Palin gets questions, looks at Rove, and demurs."
How is it a good move to show the world you're incapable of multi-tasking on a Friday night?
Obama needs to go in for the kill, and if he can't find himself to do it, then he's no stronger than McCain.
The extreme right wing evangelicals know Palin. They want her on top. But they don't want to scare the folks on the margins into not voting for her, so they keep her away from press and public scrutiny. She's the new "Dubya" but even worse I fear.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/naomi-wolf/the-battle-plan-ii-sarah_b_128393.html
constituent @ 83:
McCain needs to take regular time outs on account of his advanced age, bad temper and issues with his health.
Really, I think that Obama should just let McCain's camp know that he can and will multitask on many issues in his capacity as senator while still going forth campaigning in this election.
See ya there, Grandpa!
I love when these bimbo newsreaders suddenly try to act all journalisty.
I think it was Sam Harris who said that in the case of Palin, it's arrogance meeting ignorance.
"In what respect, Charlie?"
Maybe it hasn't occurred to Ms. Brown that perhaps Sarah Palin isn't taking questions because she actually ISN'T tough, ISN'T smart, and ISN'T ready to lead. Isn't it possible that it's not a sexist act to bar media access to her, but a practical one, lest Americans realize what a batsh!t moron she is?
JM @ 89:
From what I understand, that's not an acceptable evangelical sexual position.
Maher had it wrong in his New Rules segment on Levi. Bristol Palin's fiancee isn't the number one political prisoner in the U.S. It's Sara herself. Let that person go. She deserves, once again, to roam the wilds of Alaska, meditatively munching her mooseburgers and testing the political winds to see what she believes this week. Boooorn Freeeee...As free as the wind blows....To be honest though, we probably should put a tracking device on her.
PaulJ @ 93:
Exactly!
I am not a young man, but never in my lifetime have I seen anything as reminiscent of Hoover's Great Depression as America today--banks failing and hundreds of thousands of Americans losing their homes. For the first time in my lifetime, people are worried about whether the money they have in the bank is safe.
This nation cannot afford four more years of Republican rule. And there's one big reason.
Forget personalities, inexperience. racism, sexism, and war hero talk. It's the ideas that the candidates and the parties cherish that really matter.
The same ideas that produced the Hoover Depression are alive and well in today's Republican party--no taxes for the rich, subsidies for big corporations, no government regulation by the federal government, and the supremacy of states rights.
Change the name from Hoover to McCain to Palin on the economy, and the answers they give are interchangeable.
I’ve shortened my comments here because I know I’m blogging, but if you want to see more on this subject, go to a great website I found with the url www.howtotalkback.
I personally heard Rush Limbaugh say that it was his goal to undo everything that FDR did.
Now it's no secret that nobody has more influence over Republican thought than Rush. And it's no secret what Rush believes: government is bad and federal regulation is a plague.
But I wonder if Rush realizes that the FDIC--a program of the federal government put in place by FDR--is the main thing right now that's keeping America from an economic collapse.
One of my friends asked me why I wasn't voting Republican. "Don't you want to keep more of your money?"
My answer? If Republicans continue to rule, and they follow the Hoover, McCain, Palin script, AND THE BANKS FAIL, neither she nor I will have any money to keep.
What we need is a President who sounds like FDR, not a Hoover sound-alike.
--Will C. Justice
Yes, Palin talk to CNN please so they can ask you soft questions and help you win the election. They are very good at enabling things for anything evil.
It's not chauvinism, it's the fear (rightfully placed) that she will say something mind-bogglingly stupid. ("I can see Russia!", anyone?)
HTH!
Go Campbell!! Personally, I don't think McCain has that much confidence in his running mate. After all, how do you get someone who's been isolated up in Alaska up to speed in a few short weeks. Anyone who is comfortable with this woman being a heart beat from the presidency is not thinking clearly.
Of course McCain forbid Palin to speak. McCain and the GOP knows the score. To quote Dr. Winston O Boogie, "Women should be obscene, and not heard".
The gals of America would be well advised to reflect that, as we gave you the vote, so can we take it away. Now take your shoes off, make dinner, and get back to the bedroom.
McCain has been running about like the proverbial headless chicken since the beginning of the Wall Street crisis, while Obama has shown resolve and aplomb in dealing with this situation. No wonder Obama has a 52% to 43% lead over McCain as of today. And now McCain wants to take a "time out", so both senators can get back to Washington to lend a hand with the bank bailout. Not to trivialize this, but this sounds so playground,...Little Johnny and Little Barry get into a fight after school, Johnny starts to lose and ends the fight by claiming that "Mommy told me to take out the garbage after school tonight", and then runs home.
But let me get back to the subject, Sarah Palin,... if Obama and McCain go back to Washington, Biden goes to too, after all he's also a senator. Out of the four candidates that leaves Palin, she's only a govenor, she has nothing better to do, why can't she carry on the campaign in McCain's steed. Isn't that what the VP does? Fill in for the president when the president is not available?
I knew this was going to come up: it's pure strategy on CNN. They're upset that they're not being given access to Sarah Palin, so now they're turning the "sexism" charge against them and basically forcing them to release her. It's a nice idea in principle, but CNN's only doing it because they can't live without the scoop.
PaulJ @ 93:
It has definitely occurred to her. I don't think Brown believes she's competent - she just believes she has the power to persuade the McCain camp to release her to the public. Brown is only trying to make sure CNN gets a piece of that pie, so she has to frame it that way as if to say "so prove me right".
Yeah Sarah Falin’ bearly finish college,
is a quick study????
Really is scary to think that a woman
that has never left the country could become president and she:
Brags that she has international experience because she can see Russia,
Who wants congress to lift the ban on shooting bears so she can hunt and shoot them from a helicopter,
opposes teaching sex education in the schools and who hasn’t paid enough attention to her knocked up 17 year old daughter,
who tried to force her local library to ban books,
is spending, who is spending ten minutes or so with a few
world leaders and will claim she has international experience
Attended five different small colleges to get her bachelor’s Degree
And like Bush the bimbo gets instruction from G#d
A woman with extremely shallow knowledge of domestic and international issues, that the Republicans have kept her isolated from any contact with the press.
May wind up becoming President and leader of this complicated world and leader of this country with all of it’s domestic problems? Give us a break!!!
cg @ 104:
Ohh, Biden musn't hold back on October 2nd. Nope, no way.
Sarah Palin has very common looks. Any number of American women look just like her when they simply change their hairstyle and put on a pair of glasses. This means Palin is nothing special and certainly not unique.
McShame is having her hidden from the
press because she is incompedent doesn't
know the issues and
not fit for the job of next in line to be president.
I/we sure do not want a "quick study' to be
vice president, a heart beat away from being president.
We want someone that has been accumulating
knowledge and experience over many years;
for example some like Joe Biden!
I think Campbell Brown said Palin was "confident" not "competent," -- Surely a more accurate characterization of Palin.
Campbell Brown? What is that, a soup?
Is Campbell Brown playing games with the McCain campaign or what ? It is not sexism , obviously they're hiding her because she is in way over her head , they don't want her to have to answer questions which would further expose her as the unqualified inept joke and radical right winger she would be as VP of the United States ! Not sexist at all , just fact . Better for the Repugs that neither McCain or Sarah the Moose hunter answer any questions or speak at all ! I agree Veronica 110 , she may be confident but no way is she competent .
It isn't sexist chauvinism on McCain's part. He knows she's an idiot and a nutcase and everytime she opens her mouth his poll numbers drop. He's just trying to cover his ass from the consequences of a stupid and impulsive decision he made.
Sounds like Campbell Brown is using a rovian tactic against the rovian machine. I love it! Also, just spoke with a worker with the Obama campaign and so far Obama is going to debate. The word is that Obama is going to be at the debate on Friday, period!
Yeah, poor Palin is the victim here... Right Campbell Brown?
"LEAVE SARAH ALONE! Don't they know she's had a rough life? She's been a hockey mom, for crying out loud! And now they're attacking her with this Troopergate thing! LEAVER HER ALONE! They don't know what it's like to have your period and get acne right before your big debate!"
Where is that guy when you need him?
Campbell Brown is fantastic in this! I couldn't help but hear the little undertone of sarcasm in her "special comment". She knows they're hiding Palin because, god forbid the press ask her some real questions and get to see how truly incompetent she is with respect to the office she's running for. No, lets just say that all remotely tough questions are fuelled by sexism, that'll work! Brown knows what she's doing... She's taken the McCain "it's all sexism" stonewall around Palin, and dropped in right on their heads... Rove would be proud! :D
it's not fuckin sexist they're hiding her because she's a MORON and can't answer the hard questions. the mcshitstain campaign handlers are a bunch of sneaky bastards and EVERYONE knows it now. someone should tell them they just look stupid trying to FAKE their way through this campaign.
btw campbell brown is full of shit too she's married to the bush loyalist Daniel Senor so anyone who believes this stupid ass bitch is genuine is a fuckin retard
McCane's campaign is not being honest about their excuses as to why she won't face the media so Brown is being the same by calling him a sexist. She was being sarcastic.
What we now know about Sarah Palin: 99% fluff and hockey mom; 1% effective politician. She got away with it because it was Alaska, small and isolated.
Anyone that's been on this blog for 6 months is 10 times more prepared to answer questions on national and international affairs than she is.
She is so far over her head a disaster is forming: Hurricane Sarah.
Quick study? They would have more success stuffing quantum physics in the brain of a moose than getting her to learn the nuances of domestic policies.
The real situation in sports terms: she has been playing pee-wee football for a year and now she is sent out to play against the Dallas Cowboys.
WR @ 74:
We want Palin! We want Palin!
Free Sara Palin and send her ass back to Alaska.
Free Sarah Palin because she is a strong woman and deserves an equal chance?
They are hiding Sarah Palin because she's batshit nuts, believes in witches, thinks the Rapture is coming to Alaska, knows NOTHING about foreign policy and can't speak proper English. Not to mention she thinks women should be raped and then pay for it in cash. Fuck Sarah Palin.
I hope they "free" her so she can really stick her foot in it.
Can it Brown. You could care a less about how she is treated! You do not represent all women in any manner shape or form.
CNN and affiliates jumped on Gov Palin the minute she was announced and did nothing but talk trash about her vs vetting her as one would expect journalists to do.
I hope she continues to ignore you!
Campbell is forgetting how old McCain is. He treats women like they treated women before "women's lib." McCain is a dinosaur. He is perfectly prepared for 1962.
It's better to keep silent and be thought wise
Than to open the mouth and remove all doubt.
But silence also bespeaks ignorance.
I would like to know what other canidates, senators, presidents have ever allowed cameras in a meeting with world leaders. None. Obama didnt this summer. Why would Palin. this isnt sexism by Mccain, this is sexism by the media expexting Palin to allow it.
bravo! Stop hiding her away like a delicate little flower, and stop crying every time someone *gasp* dares to ask her a hard question or re-ask a question that she ignores and sidesteps because she is clueless. Let us all see her for what she really is: someone who is obviously not prepared for this!
It's like she's been grounded and has been sent to her room for not being ready for the public scrutiny. I can just see it: right now, she's sitting at her desk, feverishly googling the questions she couldn't answer in previous interviews, HA!
If she can't handle the pressure of being asked questions by reporters, then maybe she's not ready for the stresses of being VP and possible President?? Just a thought...
Children should be seen and not heard.
The "not ready for prime time player" served her purpose and gave the depressed Republican party something to cheer about.
She was and is a prop and pretending that Governor Palin is anything more than that an insutl.
