Heroic Student Subdued Seattle Gunman With Pepper Spray, Wrestled Him To The Ground

A student building monitor disarmed the gunman, now identified as 26-year-old Aaron R. Ybarra, at Seattle Pacific University Thursday, subduing him with pepper spray which prevented him from reloading his weapon, according to police. The actions of Jon Meis helped to end an attack that left one student dead and three others injured.  One of the hero’s fellow students said that Meis, who was on duty as a hall monitor, sprayed the attacker in the face, grabbed him around the neck and then wrestled him to the ground.

Another student told KOMO News, ‘There were a lot of shells on the ground....
