How great is it that a week after she aborts her career in politics, Republicans are still debating whether she has a future on the national ticket?

One has to wonder with guys like Newt Gingrich still not giving up hope for Palin's future, whether NPR analyst Jennifer Pozner is right, that the public treatment, and Newt's tacit endorsement, of Sarah Palin is much more about her looks and sex-appeal than about her painfully obvious lack of qualifications:
Ironically, though Palin has railed against unfair treatment by the mainstream media, she has mostly been referring not to blatant sexism but to reporters who wouldn't show her "respect and deference." The last thing journalists owe any politician is deference.
In other Palin discussion among the GOP, Peggy Noonan created a major stir with this oped, opining that Palin wasn't qualified to run for high office and never will be. One good article out of a hundred, Peggy, but I still haven't forgiven you for your "GOP sex scandals can be traced back to Bill Clinton" wack-a-news bite. The only reason we even know who Sarah Palin is is because of John McCain's hail-mary choice of her as a running mate. Republican "leaders" supposedly hate John McCain, so their endorsing his gal Palin through one train wreck after another seems at odds with their McCain hatred.
I still think that was a decision by Karl Rove and McCain's handlers.

I kind of think Sarah likes knowing she has someone by the short hairs.

The Newster wants Palin to run in 2012 because he thinks it will give him a better chance. He realizes that the real family values Republican could never vote for him so they would go for Romney of the BIG family Mormons. So if Palin is in the race she will siphon off family values jokers from Romney and in Newt's mind the other "me first, screw the little people" Republicans will go for him because we all know that Newt is the Me-ist of the me first Republicans. He has been kissing their ass for the past few months to show them that he can out Republican any Republican running except the Family Values crowd.

Don't be complacent just because Palin is uninformed, haphazard, and infantile. Those are the same qualities we saw in GWB before the 2000 election, and he nearly got voted into office! It happened before and it can certainly happen again. Remember, the GOP is not looking for President who will lead the country, they are looking for someone with unwavering loyalty to their "values". They and their voting base do not think the same way that most of us do.
Having said that, I think it would be comical to see her get swept away in another electoral tsunami. As long as I don't ever have to hear her screechy voice again.

Did you catch the bit about her almost-son-in-law telling what he heard her say? "Gee, we sure could use that money" offered for continuous speaking engagements (thus the resignation.) And in retaliation, Sarah's spokesperson didn't call him wrong, but snarkily suggested that his acting lessons were paying off.

Like Gov. Perry's nutzoid choice for heading education in Texas, the woman who believes that public education is unconstitutional and should be destroyed. But what would she replace it with? Nothing. Perry and Palin like to talk seccession. What would they replace the government with? If they have an idea, they've never said it.
SC Gov Sanford was so distraught over not being able to stop the stimulus money from coming to the citizens of his state that he had to go to Argentina to get laid. But he never said what he would have done to help the citizens of his state if he didn't get the stimulus money to extend unemployment benefits.
He had nothing else to offer. None of them do. They love to talk about tearing down and stopping the Fed, but they have nothing to offer in it's place.
And, oddly enough, they all seem to have done nothing much professionally that doesn't involve feeding at the public trough they say they hate.

If you are a member of the GOP but so weak in your beliefs that you have no choice but to do what your opponent does, even if you believe it to be morally wrong; then you are not a leader, you are a follower, and a corrupted follower at that.
Every Right-winger from Noonan to Rush wants to blame Obama and Clinton for their own bad behavior. Ok, I accept that rationale. And now that they admit their elected officials inability to lead without imitating those they say they oppose, they should get the hell out of Congress or any other leadership position - because they are admittedly incapable of leading, only following, and not even following their own people.

overall i don't believe palin has a chance in hell at winning the oval office. palin is getting positioned to be used to rally evangelicals and extreme right(tea baggers) demographics. palin is very appealing to both of these demographics. they are black and white thinkers that believe that government is the problem. palin's following will be convinced to vote for ROMney.
