'Fearmonger in Chief' Beck goes militia, warns of impending 'New World Order'
Glenn Beck has apparently decided he doesn't care how big a public nutcase he is making himself into. Because, you know, the black helicopters are coming!!!!!! And he's just the guy to get the warning out.
Back when he started his Fox show in January, I wondered how long it would take Beck to become an outright Patriot conspiracy-monger -- especially because he dabbled in it early on, and it's been building ever since. I knew we had to be getting close when Beck's buddy Chuck Norris went full-bore militia earlier this week.
So the answer is: about ten and a half months. Because yesterday on his show, he just threw the chips all in and went for your classic militia black-helicopter conspiracy theory:
Beck: On the scale of insane things, I want to show what we skipped past. Ready? Look at this. Put it up here. We're in a recession now. People argue over whether we're even in a recession! We're in a deep recession. I think we're on the edge of a depression because of what we're doing.
OK, so, we have skipped a deep recession and skipped depression -- even the Great Depression -- we went right to the collapse of the dollar. Then he went right to global currency. One world government! And a New World Order! [Slaps] Like that!
That certainly is an interesting "scale of insane things," isn't it? Especially considering how insane you have to be to believe we've actually progressed beyond "recession." Insane, indeed.
Anyway, Beck then brings on the capital-investment adviser who sent Beck completely around the bend with his snippet on CNBC speculating that the ultimate solution to the economy would be "global government": Damon Vickers of Nine Points Capital Partners. Vickers is a longtime nutcase who in fact was coming fresh off the Alex Jones show earlier this week, expounding on this same theory. (Fun note: A year ago, Vickers predicted Microsoft was "going nowhere but down." That was when its stock price was at 13. Now it's above 30.)
There's a reason the ADL officially dubbed Beck our national "Fearmonger in Chief" this week. And there's a reason militias are springing up like mushrooms everywhere.
And the reason is that Glenn Beck has a national TV network show on which he is not only permitted but encouraged to promote complete wingnuttery whose sole purpose is to make Americans fearful, paranoid and angry.
I put together a compendium of Beck's finest fearmongering of just the past year on Fox, inspired largely by the instances cited by the ADL -- with a few of our own favorite moments thrown in for good measure.

Hate to tell you this chummmm....
ppp...
It was pappa boosh who came up with the term New World Order,
Son of a Nazi traitor.
Diabolus est Deus Inversus
Was interesting as well.
Pappa had no idea whatsoever what the phrase was supposed to mean and when pressed made that laughingly obvious.
I suspect the speech writer(Frum?)had no idea either--it just sounded good.

I think Noonan wrote it.
1. Don't by a house unless you can pay cash. (However, you can borrow for wars without thinking).
2. Read the plans, Einstein. And check out the savings even the least progressive plans offer. also note that the more progressive the plan (ie. the more a plan approaches single payer) the greater the savings.
3. "Listen to the people"? What people? After an extremely well financed and well advertised nationwide campaign for his 9/12 gathering, Beck couldn't even get enough people to fill a small football stadium.
4. Wow! Clean up corruption. How radical and innovative. Even a broken watch is right twice a day.
5. Dems already working on auditing the fed; conservatives did nothing.
6. So, would this be Beck's last season?
7. Broken watch; second time.
8. Ah, the conservative idiocy. Beck isn't talking about your taxes; he's talking about his taxes. Why anyone would be against taxing the Wall Street swindle machine is beyond me.
9 Do those principles include separation of church and state?
Corruption favors the wealthy.
New World Order is here... it's been on the rise way before papa bush. but now with the collapsing economy and imperial positioning, it's no longer a conspiracy theory. and glenn beck is a punk who's job is to keep the country divided while gradually getting the people used to the fact that global government is real. there are millions of documentaries, articles, and books on the subject... and isn't it strange how frequent the term "new world order" is used on mainstream media lately? they're programming us to accept it!!!
So which faction do you think is responsible for the election of Obama, Rothschild or Rockefeller?
I agree, it is already here. As much as I loathe Glen Beck he's (intentionally,in my mind) off by just a little.
The corpratocracy and big money IS the new world order. They control the economy of the world. And whoever controls the money controls the world. Money=Power.
John Perkins(confessions of an economic hitman) give great insight as to how it works. The politicians are just employees of these people. They pass the bills the corps. write and provide them with government(our) money. These companies instead of doing it at the lowest cost possible, charge as much as possible. Lie, cheat and steal, cost overruns and on and on. No patriots here.
It's not about political leanings. Both sides are involved. It's about money, pure and simple. It is all they care about. The fact that Beck protects the people that are really doing the damage and redirects to a strawman is what makes him so loathsome.
The only way to fix it is unconcentrate the wealth and break up the too big to fail. Glenn will never tell you these things.
grandpa.
It would be interesting to research the leaders of today's GOP to find out how many of them have Nazi sympathizers, KKK members, Birchers & McCarthyites in their family trees.
Maybe instead of being frightened of ACORN, we should be worrying about how far these acorns fell from the family tree? Hmmm?
Joe Wilson, John Boehner, Mitt Romney, Mitch McConnell, Orrin Hatch, etc.
I bet there's a treasure trove of violent anti-semitism, pro-Nazi, racist hatred dripping off the branches of those trees.
Just sayin'

Raging Rudolph a whole new meaning
Every time Beck makes one of these crazy utterances, I keep hearing John Cleese's voice say, "You're a fucking loony. That's what you are."
Why anyone besides the severely mentally challenged take Beck seriously is beyond me.
My guess is that Beck doesn't believe most of his nonsense, but it sells, and he's now rich and famous as a result, so he's going to continue to say crazy things because actual crazy people spend money on his shtick.
I'm more curious how people like this sleep at night, knowing that they're tipping the crazies over the edge, but disclaiming responsibility.
... you're a sociopath, you don't give a fuck.
of several actors who talk about having to be very careful not to get too immersed in a role, particularly as an insane character, for fear they would not be able to entirely come back.

He's the kind of guy that is normally perched on a soapbox in the park foaming at the mouth and ranting about various conspiracies to the pigeons. He's the kind of dangerous agitator who if detained in the street by cops would wind up in the can,but instead enjoys an enormous audience and paycheck.Go figure.

See, that's the whole point.
If Jung is right and 30% of the population is functionally insane, then it would make financial sense to cultivate to that demographic. So what if they're fucking loonies? They spend, they vote, and they are loyal to the loonies who agree with them and make them feel as if their insanity is valid - that has to be worth investing in to someone like Rupert Murdoch or Roger Ailes.
The Republican Party, instead of turning away from the insane, has learned that there is money to be made off of them - the only price they pay for their craveness is that they always have to run the risk of not being in control of the asylum.
Right now, the inmates are very close to taking over - and, unfortunately for the GOP, there is no Reagan to keep them in line. Boehner sure as hell isn't up to it. Neither is Cantor, Steele, or McConnell. Rush is in over his head now, because he can't outdo Beck at his own game.
None of the current crops of hopefuls can appease their loony masses, and none of the freaks that do appeal to them, like Palin, Bachmann, Wilson, etc., could govern their way out of a paper bag.
That's why they're starting to groom Prescott Bush. He's their 'not completely white, Great White Hope'. By 2012, I predict he'll look like the Future to the GOP. By 2016, he'll look like a sane alternative.
... if the New World Order / One World Government / Anti-Christ has come, how is it, exactly, that you are still on the air?
Bill O'Reilly has sent out his elite defense force, "FOX SECURITY," to keep Glenn Beck's porcine hide intact.

Glenn Beck, the populist conservative host of one of Fox News Channels highest-rated programs, will be in the Midlands Thursday signing his book, "Arguing with Idiots," and others. Beck will be at the Books-A-Million at the Village at Sandhill Columbia S.C.
A "YOU LIE" theme among the protest? Sorry I can't make it, I have my own fertile breeding grounds of idiocy, bigotry, and violence here in Kentucky to settle with.
You just need a good photobomb.
(For those unfamiliar with the concept, that's slipping into a protest, holding up a sign that makes fun of the protest topic or the protesters, and getting photographed while those same protesters are either oblivious or cheering with you, because they haven't looked at your sign.)
...carrying a sign that has Glenn Beck's name in a bold, loud font next to smaller writing about a specific crime that occurred in 1990?

Let's see how far to the right they go before they fall off of the edge of this flat world.
You guys should head over to Comedy Central and check out last week's South Park. Hilarious parody of Glenn Beck...
...can you tell apart a Glenn Beck parody from Glenn Beck? Sure, one's a one-dimensional image of a spoiled fat child who's never been told no by any sort of authority figure, but the other's Eric Cartman.
It was on at McDonald's while I was grabbing a healthy meal...Beck was playing all the recent parodies, or at least snips of them. You could see he was waaayyy too proud of the fact that so many in the media were imitating him.
He was oblivious to the fact that they were mocking what he says as being completely insane.
is an emptyheaded boob.
it is one thing to criticize, but when a network take its criticism to this level, it is absolutely dangerous to the stability of this nation. Is this kind of fear-mongering illegal, akin to yelling fire in a crowded theater?

Has anybody noticed that the new series V could have been written by Beck, Norris, and Alex Jones? A glorious beautiful (illegal) alien arrives with the promise of free universal healthcare and a wonderful utopia, but the reality is they want to DESTROY USSSS!!!!!1
... the original miniseries was a piece of crap to begin with.
I had heard, however, that the remake was rather right-wing in its views.
an anti-fascist/corporate message. But the re-make has inverted the roles. Well, maybe not ironic... but when I was told they hinted the aliens were gonna use universal healthcare as their device to eat all of us. One has to wonder how unhinged the right has become in our country.

The remake is too obvious that Beck and Norris wrote the script, and use a pseudonym name for the credit. I am convince of this.
I think the original were subtle with the hints and didn't draw you away from the character, and story.
Is it me, but does it seems that the paranoia fearmongering mind suck at comedy and scifi? For having a huge imagination of whats happening to the world, they suck at making it interesting to listen and watch.

PLEASE stop focusing on these douches! Let's spend the same amount of energy promoting Bill Moyers, Thom Hartman, Amy Goodman, et. al instead of ampliphying people like Beck.
Or, focus on the policymakers who are on our side. If Dennis Kucinich received half the attention of progressives on the 'Net that Glenn Beck received, maybe that "unelectable" description the M$M tagged on him would go away.
Yeah, because ignoring them has been such an effective strategy.
nothing neuters wingnut's faster then laughing at them.
They feed on being "legitimized".
Which "ignoring" tactics do you suspect were least effective, the magazine covers or the 1.2 billion blog posts per day on his latest insanity?
I completely agree. WE elevated these loons to this status, then we bitch about everything they say. The right-wing will adore anything WE hate. Simple as that. No matter how fucking insane, if the left doesn't like it the right-wing will, if only out of what they see as principle. If we embrace something they will go out of their way to oppose it.
They remind me of my wife. We are currently seperated because of it. Funny since she's a converted Republican.
No, it was MURDOCH and his money who elevated them. WE had nothing to do with it.

to the euro during Bush's reign, where was Beck? NOT warning us of the potential NWO? Does that mean he's part of the conspiracy?
This is just (JUST, they say) corporate propaganda.
There is a new world order, it is same one brewing since the US became an Imperial Power at the beginning of the last century, meaning to say 1900.
It is US Trans National Corporations backed by the US military that is the great threat to world peace.
Since WWII it has been the greatest threat, the Soviet Union was a bit player. The magnitude of the threat from them was always overblown.
The great irony of course, if there WERE actually a co-ordinated one world government with genuine authority, it would reign in the US Imperialism.
No such thing is going to happen. At least until the US collapses, which IS coming.
Obama is a front man for the Imperialists. Which makes all of this especially ironic. And silly, if it weren't so deadly serious.
This is all about the Corporate Imperialists dividing and conquering the US working class.
They are succeeding brilliantly.

Actually the cart is before the horse.
If there WERE a one world government with genuine authority, it would be because it had ALREADY reigned in US Imperialism.
Here is what I see, the US will go bankrupt, the Chinese are in ascendancy but the entire industrial world will be in sharp contraction from peak oil.
The Chinese and the Indians got to the party when the party was almost over.
The US does have an enormous nuclear stockpile and the Imperialists could flame us all out.

You can knock the guy all you want, but when someone is right they're right. The segment was about unsustainability, referring to our debt and our American way of life. Do the math yourselves... can we sustain this level of debt growth? Can we sustain our level of consumption?

And yes, we're well beyond a normal "recession". 10.2% unemployment? The U-6 is over 17%. Sounds like all is well again doesn't it? Please... don't make this crisis into a political sideshow, we're doomed as a country because of what our policies have become. Not political policies, economic policies. Enjoy the low interest rates while you can, because they're gonna have to go back up sometime.
But my favorite [emphasis added]:

I'm talking about home loans, car loans, etc. Credit card rates are very high because of various reasons, including default rates over 10%, and changes by the fed and by congress about credit card rules. Congress has been trying to put a cap on card rates, but it's been met with some strong resistance.

What day is it today?
Probably not the day Glenn Beck takes on corporate corruption.
Corruption favors the wealthy.
and about 8 years too late.
Eight years ago a dollar bought a lot more than it does today. A 2001 dollar is worth about 83 cents today. Thanks Federal Reserve! Thanks Bush!
LOL
Didn't see any of these guys whining about stagnating wages for thirty years or deficits under Reagan, Bush 1 or Bush 2.
In fact, if I'm not mistaken they crapped themselves when Bush 1 raised taxes to fix the fiscal problem (a small part of what helped Clinton balance the books). Such ingratitude even after Bush Sr. was so kind and started a fun little war for them.
Whatever happen to the bold and proud conservative who could brashly pronounce, "Reagan proved deficits don't matter!!!" and not feel like a moron? Oh, that's right, now they listen to Glenn Beck and don't feel like a moron.
Hopefully humanity will one day learn to be humane.
There are times when I find myself agreeing with Beck on themes. The problem is, Beck sees everything in a very anti-liberal way and blames everything on those evil liberals out to kill his grandma.
The reality is that the most liberal people in America and the most conservative have a lot in common: They don't trust the Fed, they don't like empirical war, they don't like sending jobs over-seas, they don't like the Fascism (Remember Naomi Kline said it about Bush and it was true then, just as it's still true in Obama's policies toward corporations), and so much more.
I mean, there's a bipartisan bill right now with Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich and Bernie Sanders all big pushers of it (One being held up by a Democrat by the way).
MY problem with Beck and his listeners - many of whom I've talked at length with this about - is that they are after the wrong enemy. It's not your fellow citizens, it's the unquestioning devotion to big business embraced the "mainstream" in politics, media including Beck.
Hopefully humanity will one day learn to be humane.
There is a grain of truth in Beck's rants.
The Corporate Capitalist Model benefits ONLY those who are well connected.
THEY have hollowed out the American economy.
THEY have thrown workers under the bus.
And that's a point I think most of us at C&L can agree on.
BUT Beck goes WAY OVER THE TOP in calling for insurrection, opposing Health Care Reform, demonizing Obama, etc etc.
When will government of the people, by the politicians, for the corporations perish from this Earth?
Not soon enough!
Beck is definitely a hypocritical nutjob. I'd rather watch a steaming bowl of horse crap that watch his show. But even the crazy people are right once in a while, and this is an occasion like that. I've been reading this site pretty regularly since 2005, and we used to complain about the conservative whackjobs attacking the messenger rather than the message, and that's exactly what many on this site are doing today. Normally I let this stuff go by without a thought because it's political and I don't really care much for political discussions, but when it comes to an economic/monetary message, something the directly impacts our very future as a nation, I had to register and at least put in my two cents.
... proven that our consumer lifestyle is going to lead to a new world order in which you, I, and every last American will be toiling for the globalstate.
now that they have put the plug back in?
“Why would anyone with a functioning brain believe this guy?”
Some guy with an eating disorder
You have to understand exponents to understand why our nation is doomed to failure. Forget about Beck and his NWO talk... just concentrate on the math. The rate of debt growth that we have as a nation is not sustainable... what happens when we can't borrow the money we need to sustain that growth? What happens when we can't borrow money from other nations anymore to finance our debt? And what happens when nations lose confidence in getting the money back that they have already borrowed from us? Remember, we can print as many dollars as we want, but we can't print value or purchasing power. When you see the collapse of our dollar you will see the collapse of our country. When the US is not the global player that it is now, what do you have? What would you call that?
I'm not going to try to explain it all in fine detail on a message board. I suggest you read up more on this topic and come to your own conclusions though.
... arguing Glenn Beck as your primary source, and you suggest we do some reading?
Have you ever tried a source that, um, studied the issue? Or at least someone who went to college and studied something?
Or would you rather work with ill fitting analogies between a national government's budget and an individual's household budget?
Some of us prefer the educated approach. Others prefer Glenn Beck so they don't have to think and can just go with their gut.
Corruption favors the wealthy.
No, Beck is not my primary source for anything except for wingnuttery. See this post:
http://crooksandliars.com/comment/permalink/1...
My confusion stems from your apparent ability to analyze our knowledge base, find it deficient, and recommend we read some more to meet your standards - all in less than an hour. Arrogant, to say the least. But I like arrogance, so that's not my main problem.
My problem is the "common sense" analogy to the household budget which is fraught with incongruities (as would be obvious to those having read Roubini, Peter Schiff, Karl Denninger, Meredith Whitney, Jim Rogers, Eric Janszen, Janet Tavakoli and others" or any significant group of economists).
A further problem is this phony sense of urgency you share with Beck. Why now? In a period of economic contraction? Why is it important to cut spending by the only entity with significant capacity to increase desperately needed? We've been through this before. Cutting government spending during a contraction is a recipe for further contraction. So, why now?
Also, when promulgating this faux fear of the deficit, why don't you advocate (or even mention) obvious solutions (e.g. tax the living hell out of the super-rich or dramatically cut defense spending)?
Either solves the deficit problem; but that was really only an excuse to cover a dislike of social spending.
Corruption favors the wealthy.
A comparison to a household budget is something simple enough that even the lay person can understand. Is it the perfect analogy? No, but it's simple enough for people to get the idea. That same analogy has been used by most of the people listed above, which is probably where Beck stole it from.
Urgency? Well, let's see. Our national debt has doubled in about seven years. If it doubles again in seven years, and then again in seven years, we've got a $48 trillion debt in the year 2023. I've been shouting about this problem since 2001 when after Sept. 11th Bush told us to "go out and spend!". I agree that cutting government spending will lead to further contraction, but I and many others are arguing that that is the solution to the problem. More contraction! I fully expect to lose my government job within the next few years because of spending cuts, and I'm okay with that. The tax incomes are going down, so where is the capacity for increases? We are borrowing an PRINTING the money that we are spending. We as a nation cannot survive by going deeper and deeper into debt, and we sure as hell can't survive by printing the money we need.
We can increase taxes AND cut the defense budget to zero and it won't fix our budget. Read what David Walker has written about our fiscal situation.
... at a "level even the layperson can understand":
If "[w]e can increase taxes AND cut the defense budget to zero and it won't fix our budget."
Therefore, if I completely eliminate 40% of my annual expenditures and increase my income sevenfold I'll not have improved my financial situation?
Golly. This new math is hard.
Corruption favors the wealthy.
You're going to increase your income (tax receipts) by SEVEN fold? Good luck with that... Why would anyone want to pay out most or all of their income in taxes? That'll go over well each November when it comes time to elect our "leadership."
You still don't seem to get it, and I am obviously not the right person to explain this to you. Watch the movie I.O.U.S.A. if you can, or if you don't have time to watch the whole thing, watch this 32 minute "short version" of it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_TjBNjc9Bo
That just scratches the surface.
You're "concern" over the deficit is nothing more than a cover for conservative ideological idiocy.
"Why would anyone want to pay out most or all of their income in taxes?"
The obvious answer from your stated "concern" would be: to pay down the deficit. You're doing a pretty good Chicken Little about how horrible a thing the deficit is, yet that "concern" instantly vanishes with the prospect of wealthy people paying any taxes that they may not "want" to pay.
But, as I said, that "concern" appears to be only a cover. Too bad there isn't some way of describing some one who fakes such "concern."
Corruption favors the wealthy.
political hack I see. You don't seem to understand the magnitude of the situation, and you are more than willing to throw around political lines to try to discredit me. THIS IS NOT POLITICAL. Tax the rich to 94% of their income like we did in 1945, I don't care. I'm not rich, so that won't affect me. But it's not going to fix the problems we're facing as a nation. Good luck to you sir, but I'm not going to waste my time on you.
You are absolutely right to be concerned.
My expectation is that the US is going to collapse. But not exactly from the reasons that Beck describes.
He is a tool of the Corporate Imperialists, his purpose is to divide and conquer which he does.
His hokum about radical Marxism gives the story away immediately.
If he ever said that the yearly trillion dollar defense budge should be cut by 50%, or 75% or 90% which is what I propose and still have us ahead of our nearest competitor.
Because we are being bankrupted.
THEN I WOULD TAKE SERIOUS NOTICE OF HIM.
Or if he said the $14 trillion dollars we have bestowed on the Banksters must be returned and the crooks investigated and prosecuted.
Because now they are even more powerful and doing the same risky business and they will go bust again. When they do they will be back for more money.
We will be bankrupt.
THEN I WOULD REALLY BE IMPRESSED WITH GLENN BECK.
As it is, I am not impressed with him at all, he is part of the war on democracy and the war on the American working class.
What is so sad, is that nearly half of the working class seem to want to listen to what he has to say.
The corporate propaganda has worked brilliantly.

Beck is part of the problem .. not the solution.
Why?
Because he's part of the divide-and-conquer strategy that the Ruling Class has been using against Us Peasants since Time Immemorial.
If We The Peasants were to unite, the Ruling Class would crumble.
Oldest WarLord Trick in the Book: "Let's have a war. You get your peasants to fight my peasants. That way none of them will be fighting Us!"
When will government of the people, by the politicians, for the corporations perish from this Earth?
Not soon enough!
I am reading the Michael Zweig book The Working Class Majority
I can recommend it wholeheartedly.
He is with Bill Moyers here from 10/17/08
and David Brancaccio here from 10/22/04

Ethos,
Beck is the blind squirrel. And his solutions are all completely off the rails.
"Someday somebody related to some of these sufferers, these victims, these collaterally damaged souls, may try to kill you. And I have to tell you, I think you’ll have it coming." - Christopher Cooper
Look at the issues raised and come to your own conclusions. If you don't see a problem with our debt or our monetary policy, then I can't help you.
to me beck is just a corporate mouth piece. he's the guy that points north when need to go south. while the blind is being lead down the wrong path the capitalists are busy little bees investing in CHiNA. the wallstreet darling where there's much less personal freedom's and less equality...to get in the way. just what capitalism wants....basically a one rule government that can be expeditious, less threatening, loyal, predictable and easier to corrupt. i'm not saying for sure anything could be done but nevertheless nothing was done regarding the yuan not being a floating currency. consequently we have a unbalanced trade deficit. the capitalist love it.. CHINA makes stuff cheap/cheap stuff and sells it to us with money we borrowed from them. on are side of things we can't compete because of the subsidizng of the china exporters. NOW president obama is supporting the chinese government to get it's people to spend. how will their government do that by implementing SOCIAL programs. this will reduce the fear factor the chinese people have so they may spend. NO social programs... people will live in fear of the unknown and hold on tight$$. that means no consumerism. the chinese government knows this. this is a challenge for them but i'm sure the global capitalists will push for it while they dismantle social programs in other countries(u.s.). the first new social program will be universal health care. help me out if i'm off on this i'm still learning tyler or alicexchomsky please comment. you people know more about this than i do.
... have to do with the whole black helicopter/NWO thing?
Really, you sound like every other tin-foil hatter raving about the Anunaki and Bilderbergers and Rothschilds and Trilateral Commission and 2012 ...
Beck here (your link) talks about the supposed Cloward-Piven strategy.
He describes this as a radical Marxist theorem. He then uses the magic words redistribution of wealth as a proof.
This is pure hokum.
That is not to say that your concerns about the debt are not without substance or of importance.
I would not listen to Glenn Beck describe economics for long with hokum like Cloward-Pivan thrown in.
My previous comment says more here

People should at least do their own research and learn about what's happening in this country. If you listen to just one person or perspective on a topic you're not getting the whole story. No one is perfect, ESPECIALLY Beck. But look at what people like Roubini, Peter Schiff, Karl Denninger, Meredith Whitney, Jim Rogers, Eric Janszen, Janet Tavakoli and others have been saying for years, and paint your own picture.
You must integrate economics, sociology, psychology, political science and ethics into a unified understanding of the way the world works.
Roubini - an economist but not a social thinker.
Peter Schiff - a member of the Capitalist class and Libertarian. From the standpoint of the working class, not to be trusted. A candidate for Senate in Connecticut
Karl Denninger - I read his site Seeking Alpha, from time to time. An ally of the capitalist class.
Meredith Whitney - an ally of the capitalist class although she may have some sympathy for the working class. How much is not known by me.
Jim Rogers - a Capitalist par excellence. From the standpoint of the working class, not to be trusted.
Eric Janszen - I have seen him on his various theories on bubbles but I don't know too much more. If he talked about the shadow banking system and the quadrillion dollar derivatives market I would be more impressed..
Janet Tavakoli - Chicago, Chemical Engineer turned expert on structured finance. Previously married to an Iranian during the '79 revolution which gives her a completely unique and informative perspective. Extremely well informed on the massive fraud of the shadow banking system and the problems with that going forward. She may have sympathy to the plight of the working class.
I listen to all of the people you mention, and many more.
But I see the world through the prism of the class struggle and the requisite of democracy.
The Capitalists hate democracy, because they are the 1% and they have no chance unless they divide and conquer.
That is what I watch for.

In the whole magnitude of his rants this is pretty petty - but did anyone notice his brilliant prophesy on the economy?
He stated that Obama was rigging the economy to go up and then slump after Christmas.
Yup, that's going to be his justification for how his predictions are correct. Because the economy went down after Christmas.
Seriously, I think he's using a different kind of magic 8-ball to come up with these prophecies.
Hopefully humanity will one day learn to be humane.
You do realize that if the Dept of Justice did a single thing that every single moderately paranoid right-wing individual would feel their worst fears had come true and all the fantasy freedom-fighter games they've been playing are for real now?
There are other ways to deal with Beck and his types than legal especially since it brings up pretty fuzzy First Amendment issues. Sadly, the real fix requires a community effort which will be difficult when everyone suspects each other of being traitors.
Hopefully humanity will one day learn to be humane.
I started to watch his show yesterday but he lost me somewhere between depression and recession.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I usually get lost in depression and regression when I see these shows to.
Hopefully humanity will one day learn to be humane.
He's nuttier than chipmunk shit. He and his audience of anti-intellectual, gullible, teabagging, functionally illiterate asswipes should be given an all expense paid trip to another planet before the giant space goat comes and consumes the world.
So, his audience is entirely republican?
plenty of useless libertarians in his audience too and I am sure some paranoid schizo centrist dems, and the non voting village idiot. But my description of his audience crosses all party lines.
then wouldn't we all suddenly wiped out by a virulent disease contracted from a dirty telephone?
At least we'd die happy I suppose.
Heck we can't get single payer insurance.... one world government hasn't got a chance...
