Ordinary SEIU members talk back to O'Reilly after vicious attack
By David Neiwert Friday Mar 06, 2009 1:00pmWhen guys like Bill O'Reilly -- guys with massive public megaphones -- unleash their venom on groups they hate (particularly liberal groups) they always want you to forget that they're in fact talking about mostly ordinary people who are every bit the "real American" Bill O'Reilly pretends to be.
So when O'Reilly let loose on the SEIU the other day -- calling them a "radical left" outfit bent on conspiring with George Soros to destroy capitalism -- he wasn't just attacking some big faceless union, he was describing its 12 million members that way too.
Today, some of those members released a video urging Bill O'Reilly to come spend a day in their shoes, and he might gain an appreciation for what it is the union actually does for them.
Not that O'Reilly would ever deign to respond. When you're a big giant "battleship," no one notices when you're chickens--t.

'Cause when you've finished, you're a mile away - and you've still got the shoes.
Good video and good post.
These are the people he'd like to see stripped of everything. Well, the rest of us would like to see O'Reilly stripped of everything except what these average people have.
As the person who has labeled himself a socialist correctly noted, it is hardly radical or wrong to have a 40 hour work week or sick leave [and child labor laws and a decent and safe work environment and a single payer health care system]. One has to wonder who is more deluded, Bill O'Reilly for believing that he is a "man of the people" or those who are masochistic enough to tune into his program.
These people are much to nice to Billo. He is not misinformed. He doesn't need to have this stuff explained to him. He understands what his job is and doesn't really give a flying F$#K about the members of the SEIU. He is a corporate shill, paid handsomely to tow the corporate line. He is a spokesman for management. Your not going to enlighten Bill O'Reilly to the problems of the average worker. He gets paid to voice everything through the looking glass of his corporate, rich, elite masters.
Thank goodness they took the time to actually respond to OReilly and really call him out.
Granted, IF he deigns to respond, it will probably be just to call them even bigger nutjobs, etc...
But maybe some of the SEIU members who actually follow him will see it and fall away...
Since BillO is on TV, isn't he part of a television union? And Unions wouldn't have been necessary if people treated people like people, but that's not the case.
I hope more and more Americans step up their level of political action until we win this thing. Enough of the rich and their paid for media running the show. Let's stand up to them and up for ourselves.
to Billo and directed their video at his viewers. Working people talking to fellow residents, and leaving out the propagandists. Stuff like this should be all over youtube, et al.
According to a Washington Post article, O'Reilly's contract has him pulling down $10 million a year for his ridiculous temper tantrums. According to the US Census, the median US wage in 2007 was $50,740. Why on earth would anyone believe for even a moment that he knows anything about regular people? Hooray for these working folks for highlighting the hypocrisy.
All the people that hate Faux should tell the sponsors that they will never buy their products again untill this shit is off the air.
I love the idea, but we're talking about a right wing idealog (is that the word?) who will never get it, even if he walks in their shoes, because he is so wrapped up in his own bullshit world that he will never see things for what they truely are. - Kind of sad when you think about it.
and that goes to anyone who brings up soros as some rabid anti american anything
im tired of it
and hey...loofa boy
this time, we wont go quietly....get it
you fuck
Bill,
Go ahead. Walk a mile in their shoe's. Then pay for the disinfenctant. And hope he doesn't sexually harass someone on the way...
O'Reilly couldn't have a show on any TV or radio network that wasn't affiliated with FUX. Uh, FOX. No one would hire this idiot except FOX. To do anything. I wouldn't let him be a washroom attendant in a hotel. I'd be afraid for my client's. He might want to loofah The Donald, or something.
Of course, BIll makes Glen Beck look like Einstein and Mother Theresa. But, that's another tail... I mean, tale......
From a 41 year member of the Railway Clerks Union (TCU), I applaud the SEIU for standing up to Bully O'Rielly.
Look for the Union label, Billo. We ain't down and out yet.
Seriously good move, SEIU. Fantastic clip... another great example of how out of touch BillO is.
