FOX News reprints GOP talking points as FOX Facts again
By John Amato Thursday Apr 02, 2009 8:00amFOX has already been busted doing the old copy and paste routine of GOP talking points and using them as their own news which they apologized for. Do they think people will not notice it again? They have so far gone over the line because of ratings that Howard Kurtz will be forced to scold them again.
KURTZ: Come on. You shouldn't be apologizing for that, even if we were to buy that it was a coincidence that you happened to make the same mistake on the date of the article. You should be apologizing for using partisan propaganda from the GOP without telling your viewers where it came from. Talk about missing the point.
During the April 1 edition of Fox News' Happening Now, while co-host Jon Scott interviewed Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Fox News aired "FOXfact[s]" purporting to describe facts about the House Republican budget. However, all of the seven on-screen "FOXfact[s]" were nearly identical to portions of an op-ed Ryan published in that day's Wall Street Journal. For example, using nearly identical language, Fox News and Ryan's op-ed both characterized President Obama's cap-and-trade proposal as a "scheme." Ryan wrote, "We do these things by rejecting the president's cap-and-trade scheme"; the "FOXfact" stated that the "GOP budget rejects the president's cap-and-trade scheme."...read on.
They also apologized for dishonestly splicing tape on VP Joe Biden also.
Has anyone caught them dishonestly doing anything to the Republican Party, evah?

without Fox.
After all, the world got along fine before FOX.
The average American I.Q. would jump up 10 points
Everybody on earth knows Faux Noise viewers don't have an IQ.
and they're bringing the rest of us down.
we really are. It's like, it was an honest mistake. It won't happen again we promise!
Most people realize that Fox News is nothing but the GOP Channel. As the GOP's popularity drops, so does Fox News' ratings.
As an aside, that's also why the Fox Business Channel is such an abysmal failure. Everyone knows Fox offers political spin, not *facts*. That's fine with their audience so long you're just talking about war, torture, etc.. They prefer actual facts when it concerns their precious bank accounts.
Fox News Channel extended its winning streak, beating CNN and MSNBC combined in total viewers for the quarter, its third highest rated primetime quarter in network history.
thanks for an update on the National Idiot Index.
For that to be true the Reslugs obviously cheated again.
How much money did Murdoch just lose with that network again?
it is time to face the sad truth: the majority of faux news viewers know that faux news is just a flaccid member of the GOP media empire. and they don't care. they simply don't give 2 shits.
When a Repuke does something illegal or doesn’t tow the party line they put a “D” behind their name. This is what makes them fair and balanced. Can you see it? Huh? Can you?
Is the fact that Yesterday was April Fool's Day merely a coincidence?
Cause this definitely makes them look foolish.
So? Fox is the infomercial channel for the GOP, what do you expect? The only misleading word in the text is "News" after "Fox".
... to make me think there needs to be 'truth in newscasting' regulations, just as we have truth in advertising.
That won't stop FOX from telling literal truths and telling lies by omission, but I think it's a necessary step in deprogramming the audience. Education and redirecting the focus to objective presentation and critical evaluation of the facts is not enough - the peddlers of crap need to be taken off the air.
Totally agree this has to stop.
i agree but we must remember some don't want the truth and/or the best explaination. once you depend on deception it's a challenge for many to break away. it's a culture club. some people rely on deception to rationalize their culture club and theire negative/hate/disagreements with people that aren't like them. i feel many don't see how astute the obama people are at TRYing to change this division.
the republicans are the masters of linguistic deception. that's what their demographic wants hate, over the top drama. they're looking for anything to hate those that aren't like them.i can't take anything on fox seriously. it's bad theatre.
in their technique.
The only thing you can take seriously coming from the Fox Network, are The Simpsons.
Please don't feed the trolls!
Otherwise it's just constant babbling.
Stop insulting brooks and Beck.
:)
it's gratifying.
2004 story
2005 story
maybe these folks just found a new place to work and hang their hats. Fox's writing has gotten better with them...!
for the banks and corporations. They follow the money.
one must also point out that the MSNBC website has become nothing more than an Obama lovefest, with almost all stories containing Dem talking points as facts. Not really much difference there. Heck, one "journalist" on MSNBC is comparing Obama to some kind of superhero. Should read the comments on that one! LMAO!
anymore.
What a combo.
Come on, John. You know that video came from Media Matters. What do they know? They're nothing but an evil, vile, mouthpiece for the left wing smear machine. They're hate merchants.
Fox Noose makes mistakes about Republicans all the time. Don't you remember David Vitter (D)and Mark Foley (D)?

that's the name of the game.
That's what GOPers do and are good at.
They brilliantly bamboozle their base as well.
I mean we're going to hell one way or the other!
most of us are looking for less "bamboozle"........wanting NO "bamboozle" is a dream of purity.
:(
Quadrupling the rate of government deficit spending (6% of GDP -- a new record at the time) was a key Reagan policy that stimulated the economy in the 80's -- so why now do the Republicans claim that government spending does not create jobs?
Is there any Republican or Conservative out there that can make an honest argument and case for their philosophy? I'm not being sarcastic. I truly long to find a conservative advocate who can articulate, in the face of evidence, what it is that they stand for on government economic policy and what the rational basis for that philosophy is.
We're lookin' out for ya dude

hosts to me
cheer up!
Faux noise is an great April Fools joke everyday. Total fantasy and lies to their MORON listeners.
you'll see eventually.
> ...dishonestly doing anything to the Republican Party, evah?
Do "chyrons labeling embarrassing Republicans as "Democrats" count? :)
'Fox Fact' is an oxymoron like 'Victoria's Secret'.

I thought "Fox Facts" was just a euphemism for "putrid pile of steaming horseshit".
A republican president asked them to "borrow and spend" their way to prosperity just a few months ago and many went along. They went along in lock-step to "borrow and spend" their way along in a war of choice as well.... As well as every other thing for the past 8 years.
This is why congressional republicans are despised. They can't stop lying.
... it'd be laugh-out-laud ridiculous.
Actually, it's both. And that's sobering.
Since he's always trying to convert me...
I sent him this link in return :-)
