George Bush said Palin was ill prepared: 'Is she the Governor of Guam?'

(Photo via an old Joe Scarborough post: Scarborough: "Is Bush An 'Idiot'?" )
In a post I did last week I was asking the whereabouts of George Bush. We now have a Bush sighting, and it's not about him defending Dick Cheney's lust for torture.
CQ has some excerpts from a new "inside the Bush White House" book coming out shortly, and what we find is Dubya was not much of a fan of Sarah Palin.
Bush also is quoted as saying Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was "being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for" after McCain announced her as his vice presidential running mate.
“I’m trying to remember if I’ve met her before. I’m sure I must have.” His eyes twinkled, then he asked, “What is she, the governor of Guam?”
Everyone in the room seemed to look at him in horror, their mouths agape. When Ed told him that conservatives were greeting the choice enthusiastically, he replied, “Look, I’m a team player, I’m on board.” He thought about it for a minute. “She’s interesting,” he said again. “You know, just wait a few days until the bloom is off the rose.” Then he made a very smart assessment.
“This woman is being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for,” he said. “She hasn’t spent one day on the national level. Neither has her family. Let’s wait and see how she looks five days out.” It was a rare dose of reality in a White House that liked to believe every decision was great, every Republican was a genius, and McCain was the hope of the world because, well, because he chose to be a member of our party.
When he says he's a team player all that meant was he didn't want to offend the wingnut base and their love affair with an unqualified VP choice. It's no surprise that he bangs McCain, but what will his loyal followers say after they read him attacking the teabagger Queen?

when I say I don't care what that man has to say.
ever again.
The upper 1% drive the Republicans and the Democrats.
The Republicans have nothing to be embarrassed about in regards to this.
The Democrats do.

facetious Alice but I must ask; the upper 1% of what?

blew my mind:

It says so much about the true state of the republic that W became president. Don't stop reading before you get to the part about Jeb Bush and Poppy's friends in Medellin.
Speaking as someone who spent many years in the intelligence community..that story is a crock of shit.
LOL at the governor of Guam. I heard she was the governor of Guam but decided to quite there too.
cogent and prescient. Who-da thunk?
Not that it changes anyone's assessment of GWB as TWP..E! but it is interesting that he apparently saw through the bullshit that was McCain-Palin.
George has always stunk as an executive but he was and is a reasonably astute politician. It didn't take all that much insight to see that the empress was bare-assed naked. George may have served a lot of koolaid to others but it doesn't mean he was a heavy imbiber himself.

It was like looking into a mirror for him.
:....what will his loyal followers say after they read him attacking the teabagger Queen?"
Multiple choice:
a-deny he said it or was deliberately misquoted
b-blame the librul media
c-send anonymous death threats to the author of the book
d-all of the above
I think I'm turning Japanese, I think I'm turning Japanese, I really think so.....

Oh damn, that would be good. I am a devoted fan of MST and have been for so many years. If they are still on tv, we don't get them here.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
So funny I get dizzy.
Where did you friend find them? I want that!
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
:)
Thank you. I used to plan my Saturday mornings around watching those guys and laughing my ass off. No matter how many times you see the same ones again, you always hear something you missed before.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
So funny I get dizzy.
If anyone should know what being unprepared for a job in the white house is all about, it would be bush.
This whole post made me laugh. Even as dumb as bush is, even he knew she was a loser. She was not the governor of Guam, she was the queen of Grim.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
I reject that last statement. hehe
w00t!
Ouch! I'm sorry! I couldn't see your "my name is" sticker from here. I shall watch my tongue in the future.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
from Guam.
“Why would anyone with a functioning brain believe this guy?”

...you can just imagine what he had to say about her.
Listen, he'd disparage any woman put into her position, I have no doubt. But it's fun to know she's reading about what a nitwit he considers her anyway.
This shit is truly priceless.
Seriously, W being right about something like this? What, is that the four horsemen saddling up and are those trumpets I hear?
RE MST-- my ex and I used to watch it and he took to calling me Babywoman after one episode, because he said like the woman they were commenting on, I had a body of a woman and the voice of a baby. Grr!
What loyal followers? Everyone's all "Who is this George W. Bush person you speak of? Never heard of him. He's certainly no conservative, I know that much ..."
I have to say Bush could be funny sometimes, although it was difficult to know whether he was actually trying to be funny.
However, not really presidential material, so there may be hope for Palin yet. Palin needs to work on her funny though.
..at all the people he got killed and all the people he tortured or all the savings lost by people who could afford it the least or the victims of hurricane Katrina.
There was nothing funny about w! Sorry about the snarkiness!

A couple of quips won't erase the disaster that was the past eight years. He has blood stains that will NEVER wash off.
George Bush said Palin was ill prepared
This that an SNL News banner?
Vote GOP and move forward to the 18th Century.
..well, you know.

Pffttt. As if he cared a damn about anything "his loyal followers" had to say about him either.
(h/t to Abbywood for the loan of the Pffttt.)

No who does that remind you of?
are we seeing a pattern here?
and can any of them spell "potato"? That's what I want to know!
;)
..repudiation of w's presidency and that romney was favored by w and his crime family. But, what if mccain was set up to lose? After all, the republican'ts were rapidly falling from favor since the '06 elections, the election of another repub was unlikely no matter who ran for the gop or who the Democratic opponet would be. I don't care much for conspiracy theory and I don't believe there's one here, just perhaps a strategic decision to give up four years and bash the next guy (which we are now seeing). That's why I think mccain got the nomination in the first place and then add palin to the mix and well, the rest is now history. sorry gop, no rewriting history allowed!
Mickey: "It was an epiphany. Do you know what an epipany is?"
Keoni: "NOT NOW MICKEY!"
During the campaign, McCain's efforts seemed so half-hearted, I sometimes wondered if he and GOP were purposefully trying to lose. Leave all the messes and blame for the messes to the Democrats to clean up and be tagged with, respectively.
.

. . . and suddenly - just before he leaves - the Chimpster suffers a stroke of rationality?
Sad really, the 75 IQ guy making fun of the 60 IQ girl.
Pretty fu*king bad when even the chimp could see that she was a loser and the guy running for president couldn't. Doesn't say a whole hell of a lot about McCain's judgement does it? I bet McCain threw a pissy fit when he heard about this.
Say what you mean. Mean what you say. But don't say it mean.
McCain wasn't really up to speed when he stated that the economy was sound. But how would he know? He was too busy fact finding as a Senator and running for election to be interested in anything so trivial as the economy. At least by choosing Palin his judgement remained consistant.
Bush hating on Sarah Palin is actually a form of validation for them, that she was not part of the "old boys club" and rather her success is "grass roots".
Why, I am sure he is doing what he does best. He is down on the ranch clearing brush. I am sure someone advised him that he would appear more Reganonic if he was photographed doing this rather than getting his clock cleaned by a pretzel.
clear the brush for him, and HE has gone back to being drunk on his ass 24/7.
Pot meet Kettle!
If anyone was prepared to recognize ill-prepared George was the man.
Hasa Diga Eebowai
Bush should know if someone is "ill prepared." This is idiot was a puppet for Rove and Cheney for eight years.
The statement is suspiciously uncharacteristically coherent, as other statements attributed to Bush by insiders. I've never bought the line that he could be smart behind closed doors.
I don't see why anyone should care. God knows what Bill Clinton said about Al Gore and his campaign during the 2000 election. I wasn't interested in Bill Clinton's opinion on Al Gore then, or now, and - even disregarding animosity for the man - I don't care about Bush's opinion on Palin, either.
At one time, I thought it was amusing and even helpful to keep Palin in the news. I thought that she was so stupid, the press and the people would catch on. Not any more. She drove the debate on health care for weeks with "death panels." The media loves her. She takes up oxygen when there are important issues, and serious people, who deserve the spotlight.
So why are Bush and Palin on your front page?
When he learned that a group of people might be in harm's way he acted swiftly and compassionately to bring them to safety. And I am sure the Bin Ladin family will be eternally grateful.
Since it takes one to know one.
Most of the Republicans I know and many I've seen on teevee won't even admit voting for Bush. They want to distance themselves from this man and they can't. That's the problem with the Repubs now. They are pissed that their guy(GWB) screwed up everything he touched and they want to make damn sure Obama is cast in the same light.
That George W. Bush is a genius, albeit criminally bent.
Bush and his handlers accomplished everything they set out to do over an 8 year crime spree. Steal two elections, rob the treasury, give billions away to wealthy base, cause chaos in the Middle East to control oil and gas, spy on Americans, wreck the military, enrich defense contractors, enforce tyranny at home, pack the SCOTUS with right wing lunatics, instill Christianity into all walks of secular life, trash the Constitution, enhance Executive power, incite Republican radicalism while demeaning weak knee Democrats etc, etc etc...
From this perspective George W. Bush, Richard B. Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Karl Rove are Wonder Kids.
Frank Zappa - Make A Jazz Noise Here
I want to know what John McCain and his daughter Meghan really think of Sarah Palin. John McCain still says that she was a good pick for VP; Meghan says she won't talk about it.
John McCain is lying, and I think Meghan is just keeping quiet to respect her father.
to ensure her future with the RNC
“This woman is being put into a position she is not even remotely prepared for,” he said.
That's rich coming from him.
She was prepared to spend four years in a undisclosed location.
“Why would anyone with a functioning brain believe this guy?”
Some guy with an eating disorder
..she'd have quit after 17 months.
Mickey: "It was an epiphany. Do you know what an epipany is?"

Don't think too hard about that statement. Your head will explode. I had to leave my computer and get some air after reading that.
NOBODY 2012
in the script, right after that Herbert Hoover walks up to her and says "You're completely unqualified to deal with the economy, you know." . Then Hitler walks up and says she's full of shit on humane treatment of prisoners.......
