Jesse Ventura has been going on TV a lot lately because he's promoting his new book, but he's been littering the airwaves with the carcasses of dead conservative talking points when it comes to the topic of torture and George Bush.

Elisabeth Hasslebeck had had the misfortune of trying to tackle Ventura earlier on The View, and had been exposed for the moron she is, especially on torture. So Ventura was on "Hannity" last night and much the same kind of complete and utter smackdown proceeded.

Best of all, get this: Sean Hannity thinks America is better off after George Bush instead of before. I'm serious. I'll do a Conservative/Pelosi impression on him and say that he's either a very sick man mentally a complete liar, a hairpiece hag or all three.

Hannity also did his teleprompter bit on Obama. Here's just a few of Hannity's insane ramblings (buckle up, it's a rough ride). Sean tried his best to get Jesse to bite on the "Bush inherited a rescession" bit -- which, um, didn't go very well...

Ventura: You're telling me that the United States was better off after George Bush or before him?

Hannity: After.

Ventura: Oh, my God. How can you make that statement?

Hannity: I just did..and I'll tell you why...

Ventura: It's ridiculous...This country was far better off (No.) before George Bush then it is after George Bush.

Hannity then read off his usual list of Islamofascist horrors confronting America and he asks Ventura what he would do.

Hannity: ...and we have radicals that think God is going to reward them with virgins in Heaven Jesse, how do we stop em? Tell me, what do you do?

Ventura: You pay attention to memos on August sixth that tell you exactly what Bin Laden is going to do. Instead we hear Condoleezza Rice going, "I didn't know what they were going to do." And the memos says Bin Laden set to hijack planes and ram them into buildings and your buddy George Bush, he was on vacation in Crawford at the time. Do you know he took over 900 days off for vacation?

Hannity: The President's never off....Do you know that, Let me give you an example...

Ventura: This one was on his watch because the biggest attack happened on his watch.

Hannity went into the deficit and Ventura told him Bush left it:

Hannity: This is Obama's deficit...

Ventura: To fix George Bush's mess.

To debate a bully you have to be a bully, unfortunately, and Ventura rolls over him like a rag doll.

Yes

It is that simple for Hannity. That's why he is on TV to keep up the big political lie. It's "US" VS "Them".

And I really wish people would stop talking about how much, whoever, added to the deficiet. THERE IS NO DEFICIECT and THERE IS NO DEBT. If we create money out of thin air, then how can we ever possibly be in debt. Where did the trillions of dollars come from for the bailouts. It came out of no where. People need to sit and think realisticlly where these super large sums of money come from. If it seems to much to be real, common sense dictates that it is not real.

The Last Word's picture

Of course there's a deficit and debt.

Think of it this way -- you charge a pair of jeans at the store. You don't have any cash, but you take the jeans home. You have now created an obligation to pay in the future. That obligation needs to be fulfilled.

The only difference with the government is that the government, theoretically, can eliminate the obligation, i.e., the government tells debt holders to pound sand, or the government can simply print more money to cover the debt. In regard to the first difference, eliminating the obligation would result in a financial calamity because the only thing that keeps our economy stable is the our government's perceived ability to make good on its debt. Nobody is going to buy American treasury bills if they think they're going to be dishonored. In regard to the second difference, printing more money to cover a large debt would result in diminishing the value of cash and rampant inflation, and also diminish the market for U.S. debt because the projected return on the investment might be correspondingly diminished.

The "super large sums of money" you reference do, in fact, come from somewhere -- we're obligating future generations to pay for our largesse.

Disturbed Havok's picture

But you forgot 1 other option - raise taxes. Sorry, but the multi-home, multi-car class in this country that got us into this mess needs to start paying their fair share again. You can't tell me they deserve to make 100 times more than workers unless they do 100 times the work or their work is 100 times more valuable.

Why is it that when they screw up a company, the people at the bottom get punished? Then, those people get punished again because these pricks don't want to pay taxes to give government aid to the "lazy people" they just laid off?

As for us telling another country we won't pay back a debt, the value of the dollar would plummet on the world currency market. We MIGHT stay above the Mexican Peso, but I doubt it. This is why Obama HAS to get rid of the Bush tax gifts for the wealthy and close every last loop hole that's being exploited by these unpatriotic individuals and companies (and if you're avoiding paying taxes, but expect to get the full benefits of protection from the US government, you're unpatriotic in my book). There is only so much wealth to be owned and the top 5% own something like 80% or more of the total wealth in this country. They have to pay for this debt through higher taxes.

You ignore the fact that we have to make regular debt payments, or that fake (depreciated) money stops coming in. The income taxes alone go to pay for the debt interest. What could we be doing with that money if we were not paying it to the international banksters?

You also ignore the fact that we are completely at the mercy of other countries now, mostly China, to buy our Treasury Bills. According to you, we could just print up fake money and buy those bonds ourselves. In perpetuity.

I suggest you go take a macro economics course. You have been fed only half the picture.

It was Chris Carter who decided to end the show after nine seasons. The 9th season started in November 2001 after the WTC 1 & 2 were destroyed. Fox wanted to keep the show on the air.

Chris sensed a complete turn after 9/11. Also as good a job as Robert Patrick and Annebeth Gish had done, Gillian Anderson's contract was also done and she did not want to go beyond 9 years.

The X-Files was one of the best shows ever produced for TV. From 2 different crews, Vancouver BC and LA, to all the writers and producers, they all worked their butts off

The X-Files would make hay today after 8 years of Bushco fuckups. Watch the last episode which deals with torture from May 2002.

The decision not to act makes bush and cheney complicit in the crime, just as if you were in a car and your friend robbed a store came out and drove off with you in the car. You are guilty of robbery and what ever other crimes your friend commited regardless.

The decision NOT to act NOT to HONOR the theirs oaths are CRIMES, these are the REAL WAR CRIMMINALS, as their decisions are based on private and political agenda.

Their insistancew on secrecy, their violation of the US Constitution under the guise of protection, the lopoting of the National Treasury, the politicalization of the Justice Department, this wass a about the quite take over of the Greatest Country in the World and too defend these CRIMMINALS is absurd.

had nothing to do with the plotting of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Do you have a link to that evidence?

To debate a bully you have to be a bully...

Ventura wasn't a bully, and I don't think you have to be a bully to debate one. You just have to be as quick and firmly aggressive in responding as they are in making charges and innuendos. It's more a matter of energy than bullying.

I've wondered why Democrats so seldom express the emotional and factual truth in communicating with or about right-wing positions. Sometimes it sounds as if they're reading a dull term-paper when they respond to rightwing propaganda and lies. For instance, if Nancy Pelosi is telling the truth about not being told the Bush administration was already conducting waterboarding at those briefings, and she's accused of lying about it, why doesn't she ramp up her energy and anger level to respond to it? Instead, she sounds like somebody speaking at a garden club meeting. It doesn't impress me at all.

Of course you have to choose your battles, but Obama could certainly do the same thing about some issues. He has an admirable array of responses from direct to humorous that I've noticed he uses with ease, but there comes a time when a stronger response is needed.

That time is when you have to stop trying to either please your enemies or not offend them.

Aggressivenes is by definition bullying.

What I think you meant to say was assertiveness.

only if Hannity is assertive, not aggressive. It has to be strength meeting strength, you see.

PS Edit:

Is it perceived as bullying if the bully is met with equal chutzpah, or whatever?

it actually takes someone as menacing as jesse ventura to put the worm hannity in his place. i like ventura and whether he's pushing his book now or not, i like what he is saying. he's finally seen the light.

I'm suprised they allowed a veteran like Ventura on their network.

Hannity tried to cut the segment short, then it ran for an additional two minutes.

He always seems to "run out of time" when he's getting his flabby ass kicked.

Hannity is such a tool.
I was hoping that Jesse would have given him a pile driver.
Bush kept us safe hahahahha

NOTE TO JESSIE:
When you sit there and agree that Bush inherited the "effects" of 9/11...
... Doing so abjectly ignores that 9/11 happened ON HIS WATCH. Bush inherited nothing FROM 9/11, when he let 9/11 happen.

That's like saying a nine months AFTER your purchase of a new car, you wreck it and claim you inherited the effects of a wrecked automobile because now you have higher insurance premiums. Whereas the cause of the higher insurance premiums are the effect of the wreck you caused.

NOTE TO JESSIE:
When people complain about Clinton NT catching OBL and that Bush had to deal with catching OBL, one word: TORA BORA!
Followup statement: Bush admitted TWICE, he wasn't that interested in catching OBL!
Closing statement: OBL is still missing from Bush's list of accomplishments.

.

Starve the WAR Beast...
... Feed Americans.

Jesse did not agree that Bush inherited the effects of 9/11. What part of this statement did do you not understand?

Ventura: This one was on his watch because the biggest attack happened on his watch.

I wonder if Jesse will ever be invited onto Hannity' show again , he slam dunked this punk as bad as he did Hasslebeck ! LOL . I don't think Hannity is nuts , I think he is just a no class low lfe making big money , no conscience , no ethics , zero class , just another of Rupert's whores selling his soul like the rest of them. The pea brains who watch his show regularly are the ones who are nuts .

....if you haven't seen it. Jesse body slams Hasselbeck, then at the end gives my favorite quote of the year. "Give me a water board, Dick Cheney, and 5 minutes and I will have him confessing to the Tate murders."

I wish more of our reps would show a little testerone to these bullying ass-clowns like Hannity.

I may not agree with him on everything, but he'd be entertaining and more independent minded than most pundit hosts.

Good to see Jesse stand up for himself.

BUSH technically from my understanding did NOT inherit a recession according to the agency/people who make that call. it's also my understanding clinton wanted to get bin laden but the due to logistics for refueling aircraft the mission was called off. according to the now prime minister/president of pakistan who was the husband of bhutto. george BUSH senior was warned about bin laden in 1989. hannity wants to forget the recent BUSH presidency and establish a newer identity of the republican party by looking for fault towards obama. obama did NOT get ginned up and just start spending because he wanted to. he's spending because he's been left NO choice. gw BUSH did NOT even include the war(s) in his deficit numbers and they tried in my opinion to put off the start of this recession date.

Between his crushing Hasselbeck and now humiliating Hannity, it seems this country needs Jesse Ventura 24/7 to combat the propagandists Rethugs in a way no Democrat has the balls or credibility to do it.

ventura was right about one thing ,[the dumocrats were in all the criminal acts of the cheney administration] whats not to like? thier our criminals right or wrong eh?

I've just got to say this. I love Jesse Ventura. If there was a third party in America that was filled with people like him, the Republicans and Democrats would be in serious trouble.

like they say !you cant cheat an honest man!
