Juan Williams tries to be a Conservative and Bernie Goldberg has a plan on Affirmative Action: White Liberals, give up your jobs

Bill O'Reilly never has liberals fill in for him when he takes a vacation, so I was surprised to see Juan Williams in the anchor chair Wednesday night. And then I asked myself: Self, why am I surprised? Williams is BillO's chief apologist night in and night out and he would make a good little conservative talk show host in a pickle. And he did. Well, there were none of the Talking Points Memo segment that opens up The Factor every night because they probably didn't trust Juan to deliver them with the proper hateful spin, but he easily tried to do a BillO imitation the rest of the show.
It was quite hilarious listening to him stiffly yell about taxes being raised by the evil Obamanites. And then came Bernie Goldberg. They were both so appalled that CBS' Scott Pelley wouldn't invite any global warming deniers on his Global Warming special. Juan said: Not a single one. The horror, I say. And then Bernie went off on his new affirmative action plan.
Goldberg: I came up with a plan and it's a brilliant plan. Every white person in America who thinks that affirmative action is a good thing and it makes America a better place, voluntarily gives up his and her jobs immediately, right now on one and only one condition. That they be replaced by somebody who isn't white. That way, by tomorrow or the next day we'd have a lot more Blacks, a lot more Hispanics, a lot more other minorities in very important positions....
Juan: Bernie, hold on. Aren't you mocking the seriousness of this because to my mind look,....but the fact is doors have been closed, Bernie.
Listen, we have an ugly racial history...at least my plan is addressing liberal, white liberal hypocrisy because when I put this plan.(blah, blah, blah) White liberals don't want to pay a price. They only want to dole out their racial goodies.
Can Goldberg tell us the number of white liberals who have or have not got a job in part because of affirmative action? Of course not. Conservatives were the only people targeted. Oy.
Bernie, your stupidity knows no bounds. I won't waste any time writing about how offensive his statements are because there are so many other implications to the rest of his rant. You can do that in the comments. And Williams couldn't even muster much of a response to Bernie's nonsensical whim other than, doors have been closed...because he was waist deep in being a conservative commentator. Go, Juan, go!

I lived in Washington DC back in the 80s and Juan Williams wasn't such a smarmy sphincter. Back then he was kind of center semi-leftish. Now he's just a shill for Bill the Bloviator. Sigh...
I used to hear Juan Williams on NPR all the time, now when I hear him I think how could NPR let itself be co-opted by Fox?
Next thing you know every 100th caller in to BillO or Hannity will get Carl Castle's voice on their home answering machine ;)

Liberals like power, the status quo, feel good programs and working within the system. Liberals are killing this country. Pelosi, Clinton, Obama, Franks and Reid are Liberals.

Pelosi, Clinton, etc have all stated publicly that they are not "liberals" they are "progressives."

For me it goes something like this: Conservatives are on the right, Liberals are on the left, and progressives are centrist too chickenshit to take an actual stand.

NPR is a long way from the in depth, quality reporting of the 70's, 80's and even part of the 90's. They have been seriously coopted. Their reporting must be as closely scrutinized as any other MSM source for its veracity.
BTW, I think digging up some old NPR reporting and comparing it to the current reporting would be a great topic for Newstalgia. It would be a real eye opener, particularly for younger Americans to see just how much NPR has changed for the worse over the last 15-20 years.

"Taxation" is taking your money and property to give to undeserving homeless and Negro persons. "Affirmative action" is throwing you out of work so that your job can be given to an undeserving brown or black person. Isn't that what FOX tells their viewers it is?

As much as he castigates Liberals for trying to do something, at least they're acknowledging there's a problem. Notice he doesn't disagree that there is a disparity between the races. He just believes we should do nothing about it.

If you understand truthfully, why someone think(s) what they think, through honest rational discourse, then you can rationally come to an conclusion. This whole, agree to disagree thing... is not and can not, always be a cure. The world's history has proven this to be "True".
From a humanitarian standpoint, this particular issue, is predominately one of the crux's we face as a species. I hope justice prevails... for all. Misunderstanding can often lead to conflict.

Actually I agree with Bernie.
I'm willing to give up my job to a black person, but ONLY on the sole condition that Bernie leaves first. That would justify it all.
Unfortunately, listening to what Bernie says in this discussion, doesn't surprise me one bit.
My junior high school was 80% jewish. In fact, we had a Bernie Goldberg in our class.
Almost every single one of my friends from school had black maids. Even as a 13 year old, I was disgusted at how awful most of them treated the hired help, not to mention their overall attitudes toward them.
"Mean" and "condescending" would be the two words that I would choose to describe their attitudes.
Yet, these were the same people who were always complaining about how badly they were treated by others.
Guess I couldn't stand hypocricy even way back in junior high school.
