The Wall Street Journal reports that President Obama will be holding a press conference to “increase transparency and restore public trust” at 3 p.m. Eastern today. “The president is expected to disclose specifics,” according to the Journal.

The press conference comes after the president’s two recent stakeholder meetings about the National Security Agency’s controversial domestic surveillance program. He held one meeting with top tech executives, such as Apple’s Tim Cook, and another with civil liberties groups.

“This is one of a number of discussions the administration is having with experts and stakeholders in response to the president’s directive to have a national dialogue about how to best protect privacy in a digital era, including how to respect privacy while defending our national security,” one White House official told Politico of the meetings.
