Cowards: Newsmax Scrubs John Perry's "Military Coup" Article
We posted a story on Tuesday about John Perry's over-the-top article at Newsmax, in which he makes the totally baseless claim that a military coup to overthrow President Obama was a real possibility.
Some C&L readers noticed Wednesday morning that the link to the original Newsmax article went to the main page instead of the article and sure enough, it appears Newsmax scrubbed the article.

Did the powers that be at Newsmax realize that maybe, just maybe, they had finally crossed the line? I'm curious to know why such staunch defenders of the constitution decided to cut and run on this one. They can't put the genie back in the bottle. They published an article suggesting a military coup was a real possibility and now they've scrubbed it. Do they agree with Perry, or not? They need to explain publicly why the article was pulled.

"The article has been removed so there's nothing to be concerned about."

while perry's column is over-the-top inflammatory--not to mention idiotic, completely unrealistic, and borderline treasonous, my rush-to-obama's-defense mechanism has worn down to a nub. the pattern has been obama catering the right, while the left rushes to defend any insult/threat to obama.
until obama starts governing like he actually respects the left and wants the votes of progressives, i will leave it to the partisans and the secret service to defend his honor (the partisans) and his life (the secret service)
my objection and disgust with this lame ass Perry article had absolutely nothing to do with Obama himself. Only with the actual insanity of Perry and his article.
I don't particularly agree with Mr. Obama, however Mr. Perry's article transcended the personal insult since he was inciting what I consider an act of treason. Regardless of who is the holder of the office, anyone advocating for a military coup is not just acting against a specific person, that person is engaging on an attack against this country.
That is why we can't, and we shouldn't, let these vermin get away with this shit. This is not just anti-Obama, this is anti-American. And they should be exposed for the enemies of this country, and its people, that they are.

... is that "constitutional coup" to prevent a "Marxist" takeover has been used when mild reforms are proposed for economic recovery elsewhere. Think Honduras where a minor legal issue (which even a number of so-called "progressives" bought regarding a non-binding referendum on the November ballot)was used to justify military action against a president who had lost support among the elites for raising the minimum wage.
