Sarah Paln's health mystery...solved. There is, however, no mystery in why she was selected by McCain and accepted as qualified by millions. The question now is how much longer any semi-conscious human will accept Republicans as the the guardians of 'traditional values'

Is a blorg a borg that blogs?
Here's an interesting nugget: Though Utah and Alabama voted for McCain in pretty much equal numbers (about 60/40 for both), in Alabama only 10% of whites voted for Obama whereas in Utah 31% did.
There's a lot of pressure on Obama to solve every problem handed to him. Picking a new treasury secretary may be important but I'm NOT sure it would be a good idea this early.Sometimes I feel like the
BUSH administration is trying to apply a band-aid just to get to January 20,2009. They don't seem to want to be further branded as 'socialist' and/or 'bailout' administration. I think it's VERY smart for Obama to have
limited involvement right now. If any of this 'bailout' doesn't work the REPUBLICANs will try to blame Obama. I believe Obama will have an opportunity to get the healthcare issues started. the argument is going to be, why can't we get help to get a larger PAYING pool universal healthcare plan when we can bailout
wall street?
It appears that not only have the poor states just voted against their best interests, but also voted their states into irrelevance. Lucky for them Obama won without their bigoted votes and will help put some money back in their pockets.
The Honorable White Cree-yist-yin men of Alabama will take the money that they save from President Obama's tax cuts and donate it all to charity, probably...

Reading the terrible history of Republican presidents I was wondering why instead of the god like status that the Republicans have given to Ronald Reagan they used Dwight Eisenhower as their model wouldn't the United States be 1000 times a better place. During my life time I didn't think there could ever be a worse President than Nixon and then came Reagan. I knew that we had learned our lesson and there would never be a worse President than Reagan and then George W Bush proved me wrong. I know we cannot have a worse President than Bush so PLEASE, PLEASE don't make be wrong again, PLEASE.
I was thinking about it this morning. But I wish the republicans would get rid of the hot-button social issues abortion/gays/religion. If the republicans have an image other than Thurston Howell III, it's more Eisenhower like, who admittedly was before my time.
I picture a mid-western shop owner. He's keeps a regular schedule, of solid predictable habits, a bit skeptical, not likely to go off the deep end in any directions.
I have no idea why Ike isn't honored more often. He warned against the military-industrial complex and was a very honorable man.
Instead they deify Reagan. He was awful, but people think of how genial he was. People, he killed killed the air traffic controllers union! He didn't lift a finger to stop the death of the US steel industry! Thousands and thousands lost their jobs while he did his voodoo economics.
its very hard to manage the affairs vof the whitehouse when your playing 18 holes of golf, ike was not a hands on president as such he did very little harm to this country!
I viewed a story on CNBC about a waste management company in L.A. that is replacing diesel engine garbage trucks for natural gas trucks. The investment is initially expensive but in the long run it's a much smaller carbon footprint and the natural is more cost effective. I think most of us here know that this drop
in gasoline prices has a better chance than NOT to be short lived. I say let GM go bankrupt so they can restructure. Then the government can have a smaller role to assist them to retool to manufacture electric
cars and natural gas trucks.
Is the guvmint gonna let them go bankrupt?
Pelosi is pushing HARD for a automaker bailout...
I worked for a Waste Management company in Australia. It had started to introduce natural gas powered trucks just before I left. I can tell you that it's not as fuel efficient as diesel, hence the mileage isn't as good, but when it costs a third of what diesel does, that tends to pale somewhat
So Sarah Palin was knocked up and had to get married. THAT's exactly why I thought she wouldn't release her medical records, not that Trip was not hers -- young girls like her daughter don't usually have babies with Down Syndrome. I thought Track must have been conceived out of wedlock.
So, like mother, like daughter.
I know this happens a lot, and though it's never the best of all possible worlds, the disturbing thing about it is Sarah Palin's opposition to birth control for women and teenagers. She knows herself that abstinence does not work.
What a hypocrite.
Palin is one of those who say "Do as I say not as I do." Hypocrite is the correct words for her and others like her.
Bigotry is not a problem only in the South, but wow, those stats are scary. Meanwhile, management of the bailout has been abysmal.
