Rep. Randy Kuhl (R-NY): Democrats 'want the American people to suffer and to hurt'
By Nicole Belle Wednesday Oct 22, 2008 9:30amNow we get to see and hear "Shotgun" Randy Kuhl (R-Hair Club for Men) say on camera that he "firmly believes" that Democrats want the American People to suffer and to hurt." No, really. Here's the exact quote:
I firmly believe the Democratic majority wants the American public to suffer and to hurt so that they can make some political gains at election time, and I think that's wrong.
Excuse me, Randy? Did you really just say that? The tape doesn't lie, I guess.
I have just about enough of this crap from GOP dweebs nationwide, but this addition to their 2008 Hall of Shame is simply beyond the pale.
I understand that Randy is polling well behind progressive Eric Massa and that desperate times call for desperate measures and all, but this is ridiculous.
Another day, another McCarthyite. The hate and vitriol pouring through this election is bone chilling to me. I'm trying to understand how we can ever go back to being an United States of America.
Kuhl is polling behind his Democratic rival, Blue America candidate Eric Massa. (See the ad we ran in that district here) It will be a happy day to see a progressive not insane with hate representing the 29th District of NY.

then an apology. After the last 8 years America knows who really hates America. You damn sure don't care about the Constitution.
Universal health care, tax fairness, end the war in Iraq. Oh yeah, Democrats want the American people to suffer. These Repugs have no souls.
These Republican politicians are just shameless. They say these things because they have the delusion that most Americans agree with them. They are going to find out in two weeks just how wrong they are.
The rightwing has spent the last 20 years demonizing the left to such an extent that I don't really believe this country will ever be united in a way that will truly benefit all the people.
That's rich, comin from a rethugliCON.
Asshole!
It's funny that not only is Obama a socialist, but he also wants to raise taxes on the middle class. You can't be both, you know!
Also, Fox channel appears to be wall-to-wall with "radical"; Obama is a radical, all of his friends are radical, everything he's ever done is radical. Hannity had a special on the other night called "Obama: a History of Radicalism." Also.
It's sad how low the repugs go when things don't look good for them. Spoiled little babies. Also.
Whatever happened to "French?"
Kerry was French, wasn't he?
Why they're all SOCIALIST, doncha know?
Socialist Surrender Monkeys!
non-fat soy latte drinkin, arugula enjoyin LIBRULS!
I lost my copy of the "Republican Hating Points."
I just can't keep track.
It's the list that looks like a phone book.
:-P
Actually, Representative Kuhl, Democrats just want you to suffer and to hurt. We can understand your confusion, though.
what's up with this poll? says the race is all even wtf?
http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D93VM...
Caveat: Breitbart is a tool of Drudge. I've seen him utilize very misleading headlines and even edit wire stories, which is highly disinformational.
If you read the article you'll find:
The AP-GfK survey included interviews with a large sample of adults including 800 deemed likely to vote. Among all 1,101 adults interviewed, the survey showed Obama ahead 47 percent to 37 percent.
drudge needs to be stopped!...
I don't see why. He is not going to change the outcome.
I don't know about what that poll says. This listing of polls below does show a couple of them with very close results. The Ap poll does show it was taken 10/16 through 10/20, so it's not the most recent of all polls. And, you also need to be careful with how they actually take the poll. Gallup gives 3 types of polls....Registered voters, likely voters (standard), likely voters (expanded). Their poll today shows a 2 point closing of the gap for each of these.

Just make sure everyone votes. I'll be a nervous wreck until Obama wins for sure!
Don't bother yourself with the Baghdad Bob sites. (Remember Baghdad Bob? Saddam's Propaganda Minister. He stood in the streets of Baghdad talking to the tv cameras and proudly proclaiming that the Americans would never take Baghdad. Meanwhile, American tanks were rolling past him in the background. We had already taken Baghdad while he was still proclaiming victory.)
Here: http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/, that will make you feel better.
Roger Wicker is pulling this same essential shit in the Mississippi senate race. Not quite as blatant, but the message is clear.
Good news is, it's not working.
Can C&L do a rogues gallery of these unfortunate GOP dweebs and their quotes to really show how these folk have really lost their marbles. Two weeks to go and you should rack up a mighty exhibit. I'm counting on a lot of self destruct before and after elections. A broken highway, so to speak.
Not enough bandwidth...
I think C&L should make enough bandwidth!
This would be mighty cool if they could do this. I'm sick of these bastards. I hope they all lose big time in their districts.
Yesterday MSNBC's resident tool, David Gregory, was discussing what McCan could do to save his campaign. Gues what Republican expert he had on to talk it over with. No, not Pfotenwhatever, not Pat Buchanan, Not any of the lobbyists he calls campaign staff.
No, Gregory used a real expert on saving self-imploding racist campaigns. He had on Virginia's ex-Congressman, George "Macaca" Allen.
Gregory is a tool.
How about a deck of cards with every one of the Republican Haters Club featured. I say we make Ann Coulter the Queen of Spades and Palin can be the Joker.
anti-American assholes like Kuhl. Give whatever you can to Eric Massa.
I've got news for you not-so-Kuhl, we progressive Americans want to repair this country and grow the middle class. It's you arrogant prick Republicans who want to keep this a country club society.
Seems to me the deregulation spearheaded by the Repugs are to blame for this mess.
Capitolism has to be regulated in order for it to work for everyone. When it isn't we get a banana republic.
We, as a nation can take the road that leads us out of this nightmare the Republicans have dealt us, and we have a great chance of that happening with the election of Obama, or we can take the road of bigotry, fear, hate and dispair of the last 8 years if McCain gets to the White House.
I don't know if we can become a United States again. Not for a long time, I'm thinking. The cup of human kindness has been poisoned.
Rush Limbaugh's talking point exactly. He says it every day. I'll be happy to see the day when Rush shuts the f&*k up and everyone who parrots his ignorant talking points.
Randy, you don't understand...
Americans want you to feel hurt and miserable for wreaking your neo con havoc upon the country. Cry me a river. Here's your tissue.
You're giving that sonofabitch a TISSUE?
that Kuhl eats kitten sushi for breakfast. Then again we all have our moments of doubtful rationality do we not.
After 8 years of hurt and suffering from RePug political gain,He's hypocritical pondscum. I want to puke.
Google "Kuhl spousal abuse"
Drat, he found us out. Our plan began eight years ago with some help from the Supreme Court to get george bush into office. We knew he would fu*k up everything, start two wars and that was just the way we wanted it to go so that eight years later we could elect a Democrat.
Republicans want to make sure you suffer and hurt.
These comments are galvanizing the Democrats. They are, as we speak, standing in line for two hours in Florida to cast their votes.
And we will keep on standing in line down here so that we get to cast our vote, possibly the most important one of our lives.
mail-in-vote is on it's way.
I've been out with my friends drinking and talking, now .... Coming home to see this is just tooo pathetic.
The feelings and hopes Worldwide is that Obama will win his Race, and that many new D's will be in the Halls of Congress.
I can't wait for the flood of tears that ensues. There will be so much salty water poured out of the fanatical Right Wing that it may endanger the water supplies of America.
THE WORLD WILL REJOICE.
Let the salty waters flow!
Stay safe, Bob.
than in the US of A, I keep hearing such hateful stuff pouring out of the mouths of the those who suffer from the NEOCON Delusions.
Hi, Bob. :)
No, it is safe here. The right is all talk, for the most part. Cowards, really.
This guy is an idiot.
Are Democrats not Americans? Maybe we're masochists who want to hurt ourselves.
Yes, that is the mantra that is blowing up in their faces.
...trying to get them employment and housing here in Chicago and trust me, some of these guys are fearless and tough....with nothing to lose. When I listen to clowns like this punk Kuhl, Hannity, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, etc. I know I'm listening to a pussy who has never had to or would know how to stand up for themselves out of their element.
Polls show the race tighttening amongsst likely voters. The unlikely voters are the ones they plan to disenfranchise, intimidate and make the process impossible to complete their vote.

The AMERICAN leadership is struggling to realize that without a STRONG FOUNDATION the house or cards will not stand.
The ECONOMIC architects is in denial that the problem is in the foundation rather than the roof.
Without fixing the problem at the foundation (at the level of the working people) any high-rise in the wall street will crumble. The taller the building the harder they fall. Those that occupy the top floor are well aware that the problem is not the ceiling or the walls that keeps them shielded from the economic storm. The problem is the neglect of the deteriorating foundation.
The Architects need not look farther where the problem lies. It is below their feet. The incompetence and the out of touch of the CEO is merely building more WALLS rather than recognizing that the floor is cracking.
The AMERICAN people and the unemployed will survive. They have already hit bottom. It is those at the top who have caught themselves unprepared for the fall because they were too busy being GREEDY that will FALL the HARDEST and will survive the LEAST.
Only then will the Godliness learn what HUMILITY truely IS.
"I'm trying to understand how we can ever go back to being an United States of America."
We can't! The armageddon will begin when the KKK with Al Qaeda underpinnings has Obama assassinated. The opportunity to destroy the USA from within with one bullet is a temptation that would be too good to pass up.
It will be the Republicans who will hurt Americans for political gains by the hate they have created. Hate that will create terrorism from within.
I tried to find an email for this jerk but unfortunately, the only one I found won't work unless you're from his district.
However, on his Kuhl for Congress web site, he has a "Letters to the Editor" section where he gives links to newspapers in his district.
After I run a few errands, I plan on finding a few newspapers to send a letter to about this crock of crap congressman.
http://www.kuhlforcongress.com/toeditor/
If you look up a zip code in his district you can get an email through.
I thought of that, but it looks like you also need an address (the yellow boxes....which I assume are mandatory). I'll look further into this later...got to run.
I firmly believe
the Bush administration started a war in Iraq
to make poltical gains for the republican party.
They should be on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
introducing legislation to help Americans, rather than making up rabble rousing bullshit.
So she's a Democrat?

Sign me up for the party!

Unfortunately a lot of the 29th is hate based- demonization of liberals and outsiders is very big here
Dems want Americans to "suffer and hurt" Rep. Kuhl? How would you describe the way Americans are struggling right now?
*
Mash for brains. Well - as the one representative said in "Religilous" - "you don't need to pass an IQ test to get into the Senate."
*
I want to say unbelievable, but I believe he said that. Being from his district, I am counting the days that he gets voted out. Massa nearly beat him 2 years ago, but I believe that this very conservative area is beginning to see that the Bushie Policies just are not working.
Randy Kuhl is a longtime Republican thug that has represented this area in the State Senate for over 20 years. He took over the Rep spot when the respected Amo Houghton retired in 2004. Yes, Randy aimed a shotgun at his wife, and some years ago the local TV stations had a field day of video of him in the Corning Police station, arrested for drunk driving, ranting "You can't arrest me! I'm Randy Kuhl! I'll have your jobs!"
Unfortunately, while the polls here show Massa ahead, I'll believe it when I see it. This is a part of NY that is strongly Republican; in 2006 in Steuben County, home of Corning Inc., while Hillary Clinton and Eliot Spitzer won the state with something like 75% of the vote, both lost Steuben County by wide margins. So, while good progressives want Randy gone, I'll believe it when I see it.
I'm a lifelong liberal Democrat. I'm voting for Obama.
With that out of the way, I want to say that this sound bite is not completely fair. I disagree with the guy, and he spoke poorly, but I believe he was taken out of context, and that's not OK whether it's done by us or by the other guys.
He wasn't just saying that "democrats want people to suffer". If you listen to the next line, it's clear that he's talking about the election, and that he's trying to say that if people are not doing well, that they're more likely to vote for a change, and that will favor Democratic candidates this year.
Please, there's enough *real* stuff out there. We don't need to reach like this.
Election day (Diebold and voter fraud aside) might just turn out to be a referendum on whether, or not, "the American people" truly are stupid, or if that's just a popular rumour.
I am sorry to say that he is my representative. I am waiting for the day when he can be voted out. He has voted for Bush policies every single time and lied about them when they became unpopular.
His opponent Eric Massa has a good support, but interestingly our newspaper Democrat and Chronicle (of Rochester, NY) endorsed Kuhl, for no better reason than that he is now experienced and maturing. I found that explanation to be ridiculous!
I am also proud to say that my daughter who is in London, has already sent in her absentee ballot and voted for Obama and Massa.
This has the important context

ChurchLady would be very proud.
