Per iCasualties, the total number of allied service members killed in Iraq is 4,734; in Afghanistan, 2,040, of whom 151 are Canadian. During this same period, Iraq Body Count lists 153 Iraqi civilians killed.



20-Yr Old Sailor Dies In Afghanistan - Petty Officer 3rd Class James M. Swink, 20, of Yucca Valley, Calif., died Aug. 27 while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Swink was a hospital corpsman assigned to 2nd Marine Division.

In looking down the list of U.S. military deaths in the Middle East, I've been struck many times by the preponderance of non-commissioned and commissioned officers over privates, marines, seamen, etc. Anyone know the statistics? Understand the reason?
Tristan came home today. Hundreds of people lined Rt 215 and Rt 15 from Cabot, through Walden and into Hardwick. He was in a motorcade of state and local police and fire departments and a veteran's motorcycle group that escorted him from the airport in Burlington all the way to Hardwick.
Vermont has lost the highest per-capita of any state. There are only 600,000 residents in the state.
Hardwick Community Television, the public access station will be running his senior year basketball games from 2007.
