....first!

bill o'really did what we in Texas say never to do,

To go to a gunbattle of wits armed with only a spork.

The comedy channel....really, this is the news you watch for important topics of the day? Everything taken out of context, enough said.

)O(

No that would be the BBC.

Like the average German tuning their radio there to find out how the World War II was really going.

My guess is you watch FAUX.

If you meant spark, he doesn't even have the flint.

that sound you all hear is o'reilly's pants getting unzipped and pulled down for his spanking. once again monsieur colbert comes to the rescue, a paul revere for these times indeed!

this is nothing new. i remember when Bill O attacked jamie lynn spears and her family and then he didnt say anything about palins daughter or family. jon stewart called him out on that. pretty funny.

The Netroots or whatever you call this conglomeration of kick ass bloggers should have really rallied around her and pressured the Governor to get the job done. I don't think anyone is really happy with Gillibrand. Besides it would have only been for two years or so and then the people of New York could elect whoever they wanted to. Darn it. Another opportunity missed. Next time.

Paterson is a moron!

Al Damato standing behind the guvnor.

Oh come on, he's the governor, he can take it.

There were a lot of New Yorkers who didn't want Kennedy in the post, not least of all because she wasn't qualified, has never had a real job, didn't vote in half of all elections since 1988, and essentially would bring nothing to the job but her name and fundraising ability (plus the thanks of the Kennedy mafia). Gillibrand may be too far to the right for most Dems, but at worst she'll be easy to knock off in the next primary.

If Barack Obama's staff invites Stephen Colbert to host the White House Press Correspondents dinner this year. Of course it would remind everyone of how kick ass Stephen Colbert's roasting of President Bush and staff was a few years ago. Damn that was good.

Plus Colbert would do a great job and in a friendly manner.

... and ALL of the dinner guests would be laughing this time.

of the Bush years, and would be if he'd only made that speech. He must clank when he walks.

I'm sorry but I can't imagine anyone wanting to have an affair with Caroline Kennedy. Aside from her lack of looks, she seems barely literate. I don't care how many books have been released with her name on the cover, that woman has never written a book. I'm not sure she's even read a book. Her mother worked at a publishing house, of course her daughter would "co-write" books. Come awwn.

It's not like there's a dearth of Upper East Side wives who are looking to screw around. Pinch could do better.

Does'nt say much about Harvard does it?

You're joking, right?

George W Bush went to Harvard.

Everyone knows what "legacy" means.

There's no way Harvard could turn down Caroline Kennedy even if she were a blithering idiot. Or maybe you've never heard of the Harvard Kennedy School.

If you don't know that the children of presidents get into Harvard or Yale if they want to go there, then you must think Dubya must have been some brillinant student who got in on his own merits.

caroline is attractive

barely literate? because they have one clip with her using uh too many times, which is more of a point to show one who is not comfortable with public speaking then illiteracy

go away

is showing!

Judging women purely on the basis of their looks. There are some average looking women with truly excellent {Edited,SM} and some very pretty women who can literally put one to sleep in bed. You need to cancel your substription to Playboy(or Playgirl) and try to get out more because you seem quite naive.

O'Reilly?

Like I give a crap!

Billo cant verify any thing he has ever said on his show. Its all just a bunch of crap his geriatric audience wants to hear. He is the king of bull, bullyism and intimidation.

Big fat hairy asses. All of 'em.

Hopefully off to the boneyard and extinction.

Mine too.

Following statements made to Politico yesterday telling Rush Limbaugh to "back off," Republican congressman Phil Gingrey now has his tail between his legs. In a groveling call to Limbaugh's conservative radio program this afternoon, Gingrey offered a humble apology and described Limbaugh as a "conservative giant" who plays an integral role in maintaining the ever-decreasing Republican base.

To my humble eyes she is a beautiful woman, attractive and alluring.

I'm just, like, not that eloquent, y'know? Supposedly she said "y'know" 168 times during a 30 minute interview...

Nothing against her though and Bill "Falafel" O'Reilly is as laughable as usual - I'm surprised there are still people who believe anything he says.

Caroline Kennedy is probably qualified enough; however, she should have worked on her public speaking more - she sounded like Shaggy from Scooby Doo! Zoinks! Like, wow man, y'know, here's, like, a transcript from her NYT interview. Enjoy!

Supposedly she said "y'know" 168 times during a 30 minute interview...

Not only that, but when she was asked when she decided she wanted to be senator, she replied with "Have you guys ever thought of writing for, like, a women's magazine?"

It's a prefectly legitimate question that would have been asked of a male or female candidate. Like, you know, someone with no prior experience in, like, politics who suddenly announced they'd like to have a senate seat. "Really? When did you decide on this?" It's a question anyone would be asked if in a job interview if they are switching careers, or taking a completely different career track than they'd been on before. "What made you decide you want this job and how and when did you make the decision to take your career in this direction?"

And she answers by trying to insinuate that it's a gratuitous, sexist question that has no business being asked? Sorry, wrong answer. And wrong attitude.

Face it, she had no qualifications and no real interest in the job. She couldn't even bother to prep for an interview. She couldn't even bother to vote for other Democrats who were running for office. I don't want someone like that as my senator, no matter how many hissy fits Maureen Dowd and Michael Bloomberg throw over it. I'm not crazy about Gillibrand and I hope Carolyn McCarthy challenges Gillibrand and wins. I don't think McCarthy will get many upstate votes though, considering she is anti-NRA. Upstaters wouldn't care that her anti-NRA stance is because her husband was murdered on a train with an assault weapon brandished by a nutjob. but Long Island and the city could giver hr enough votes to win.

I think the voters of NY should demand a change in the legislation about who fills an empty seat. It should be the voters, not the governor. Especially when the person who is acting governor was not voted in as governor. I don't even see the point of having a lieutenant governor who permanently takes the place of the person who was voted in. A lieutenant governor should temporarily take the job until a November election can be called for the governorship. Not necessarily in the same year the governor vacates his seat, but certainly by November the following year. Then voters can decide who their governor is and who their senator should be.

Kennedy woukd have lost to a Republican in 2010, because people would have been so outraged that she was handed a job just for the asking, without even having the decency to vote in national and state elections. Then we'd really be up that famous creek without a paddle, with one less Democrat in the senate. Neither Kennedy nor Patterson is worthy of the jobs they were holding or seeking.

After reading the title to this I would expect to learn the rumors that were being spread and what was false about them. On another link about Helen Thomas I would at least expect to learn what the question was that Helen Thomas asked. Never mind the rightwingyness of BO's reaction, or at least set that aside for a moment. At least then the haters could base their comments on something other than their already established complete and utter ..ahem...dislike.. for BO'. Sometimes journalists in general can be downright dopey, and people who threw their names onto a list for political appointment. I mean where does a person get off throwing their own name into this list? Rich people who have a legendary name, that's who. And that is one of the things wrong with our political system. Who cares what letter is next to a persons name, don't defend the political party, that just keeps the wrong people in power and keeps us little People arguing in circles.
