Daily Show: McCain's losing control of the monster he created
By SilentPatriot Saturday Oct 18, 2008 4:30pm
In an episode from earlier this week, after playing a disturbing montage of all the hateful things coming out of the McCain camp, Jon Stewart wonders how McCain can possibly regain control of the monster he's unleashed. Considering Michelle Bachmann's Nazi turn on Hardball yesterday, it looks like a snowballing issue.
""There's a little bit of a problem here: Any mad scientist will tell you there's a point where your excitement over the monster you've created coming to life damps down a little bit. It's usually around the time that monster starts breaking all the sh*t in your lab."
That about sums it up perfectly. You reap what you sow, Senator.
Reminds me of this picture.

You don't have to worry about Obama winning.
After all, Al Gore won.
John Kerry won.
Obama will never be sworn in as POTUS.
The Republicans will not step down. They will fudge and Dieboldize the election.
Shit; they'll declare martial law rather than leave themselves prey to the investigations that would be forthcoming.
It is going to get very ugly in a very short period of time.
Hey! How'd I get up here?!
I agree, Mick, this is getting downright nasty and the repubs are in desperation mode right now.
...is a very dangerous beastie that will resort to anything.
I am frightened.
when it comes to those in the extreme factions of our country we should be worried. when I speak of those extreme factions I refer to the Bush administration and yes they are capable of bad bad things.
It took them, what, three decades to gain the power they have now. They're not going to slink back into the muck they crawled out of that easily.
These creeps will do anything to stay in power.
They didn't go to all the trouble of putting a bunch of legislation, Presidentail Directives and signing statements in place just to walk away and leave all the dictator playin' fun for someone else!!!!
Dubya and crew are hiding so many crimes. We will never know the true extent of the evils committed by them.
I refuse to believe that because I believe in justice.
And I believe in the tooth fairy, but that doesn't mean she exists.
I don't think Paul Wellstone (his death came just 11 days before his potential re-election in a crucial race to maintain Democratic control of the Senate) or John Kennedy Jr., (a future 2004 presidential candidate?) were accidents.
What better way for these murderous thugs to test those electromagnetic pulse weapons?
conspiricy huh okay the Wellstone case i think is accidental but anything dealing with the Kennedys is up for a late night chat. Oh and Jr was most likely headed for an 2012 bid but damn the invisible godz we'll never know. I hope Obama gives RFK Jr a post in his whitehouse, he has a lot to offer the people as a whole.
i agree also. but i think that since mcfuckhead and ms noclueatall
have let the gopwingnuttia out of the bag, we may face a major racial action across the country on or shortly after the nov. 04 election.
the corporations, the fucking asshole
christianwhite bastards have taken thestraight-talkingbus over the cliff. in fact they helped push it over themselves.i am an egnostic. when did jesus preach hate and killing and lying and discrimination? like everything else in this 21st century, the christians have even fucked up god.
Well, they've been doing that for several centuries....#;}
Jesus never preached anything like that! As a Christian, I've resented for a long time this notion that I'm really neither a Christian nor a true "American" unless I vote for/support the Republican party. Like it or not, Jesus was a huge liberal and I'm proud to say that I am, too. What the right is telling me is that having compassion and empathy and trying to love my fellow man is unpatriotic. The ignorance and hypocracy makes me so very, very sad & angry.
Yeah, I believe that ALL the stops will be out. MCCain/Palin is a red herring in this fight. this fight is between Sen. Obama and the current Occupants of the White House. Too many secrets dwell whithin 1600 Penn. Ave to be allowed to see the light of day under an administration which will expose them to the nation and the world. That means the election gets 'cancelled' or 'someone gets removed from the scene'. Either scanario will guarantee the implosion of whatever flimsy grip of order this country may have had and bring about the 2nd Civil War. May the Gods help us all. Enuff people out in the ether are angry enough to literally justify treason in their own minds. One act of stupidity, and the country as we know it will collpase.
Live from New York it's . . . . .?

Palin proves instant consumer gratification (addiction and desperation) is still thriving apparently.
Love them! But I miss having the volume control on the player window.
Just FYI...
Let me be the first: McCain reaps what he sows.
And I still don't like the new design...
Thanks, I was about to say that. Somebody doesn't know the difference between stitching with a needle and planting the germ of an idea in the soil. But, so. These people are still crooks and liars. Always.
What does it say about the USA when we have to rely on a comedy satire show for the balanced truth?
Hey FOX, you listening?
Fox is listening; O'Reilly is dispatching FOX SECURITY to your address at the moment.
I shoot back.
and this monster will only get worse. McCain has set up the U.S. for another McVeigh style attack and it will be one of McCain's own supporters that will likely do it.
And this is precisely why we DON'T need a McCain style leader. I am so glad that Obama and Biden are running a "gentleman's" campaign. We don't need hatemongering in a time of crisis. That's what happened in Former Yugoslavia -- a multi-ethnic country where a few hatemongers were able to tap into the deepest fears of people and mobilize them to violence.
I hope to god we don't go that route. Unfortunately it only takes a handful of home-grown terrorists to drive a country into war
nails it once again! Most excellent.
Tinklenberg picks up $450,000 in wake of Bachmann remarks
One reaps what one sows.
Sewing is for Home Ec.
It was...
one rips what one then sews?
They've always been there. He just made them think it was okay to rear their ugly heads and let the world see them.
Kinda like when Putin rears his ugly puss and winks at Ms Sarah over there in the good ol' USofA Alaska??!!!
Yeah, I think I saw John McCain discussing this strategy with Rick Davis earlier today.
The real monster here of course is not Palin its the republican party as a whole. They have participated in the hi-jacking of there party by wingnuts and right wing fervor. Palin is a pawn and yes dangerous if given the opportunity to lead, so lets not "get cocky" and make sure we get out the vote even here in Texas the red red state the battle rages on Obama 08
...there's hope! Rick Noriega is closing in on Cornyn.
I believe that the Republicans are actually going to "let" the Democrats win, believing that a real Great Depression is right around the corner (say, February?) and then they can all say i told you so.
Thank Goddess for the Law of Unintended Consequences!
The Republicans are a disgusting example of democracy and people around the world should know that. They really are repulsive and throwing up only makes them stronger.
Thankfully there are too many rational, thinking people in the USA to let them get back in the White House.
No need at all for the Republican religious nutjobs and family value pedophiles and bathroom jockeys to keep their jobs. Like when a group of them put up their hands when asked if the didn't believe in evolution. Yikes, how stupid can one be?? And they are in power? Wow.....
McCain has created a monster he can't control. It was brought to life be his propaganda minister, the gov. of Alaska.
McCain, Palin and the McCain campaign managers and strategists need to be held criminally liable for the consequences of what they have created and unleashed, including conspiracy, terrorism and crimes against humanity...as appropriate to acts that directly unfold from their conscious decisions and premeditated choices. They must be made suffer justice at the hands of competent authority for the crimes they incite and unleash. What they are introducing and inciting, the hate, the eliminationist mindset - with that mindset's inevitable crimes..all of it ..has no place in a humane and civilized society. Already, under the current laws, which these people helped champion, they are deeply guilty of conspiracy to commit domestic terrorism.....and, it is only in the initial stages of an old pattern that has but one inevitable outcome. If the law enforcement agencies are servants of the law - and therefore the People, instead of mere enforcers for totalitarian thugs, McCain and Company would by now be under a unbiquitous microscope at the moment; grand juries would be meeting, arrest warrants would be at the ready. Why is it that I hold no hope that this is going to happen? Because they aren't quackers, or peace activists or nuns? Yeah, that's why.
unbiquitous = ubiquitous. Sorry
On Raw Story there's a report of an attorney who has filed suit against exactly that. She says she won't pull it until both McCain and Palin apologize for their rabble-rousing hate-mongering (anybody wanna give long odds on that?)
What I really fear are the similarities of our current financial/political crisis and the world of 1929 to 1935. Hitler was able to rise to power using lies, crooks and fanatics while fooling the German people by blaming the Jewish people for Germanys economic issues.
According to Palin, McCain and Bachmann Liberals are responsible for the current financial crisis, Al-Quada and just about every other social ill we have today.
Just today McCain was quoted in a speach in North Carolina suggesting that Barrack and Pelosi will "Socialize" our government. If you add these soft-hate statements with the blatent lies of the robo-calls and the e-mail crap, I can easily see some hard right wing-nut deciding to act upon these venemous tactics. If you would like to see where some of this may be coming from, read the articles on Huff. Post and The Nation concerning the Alaska Independence Party that the Palins belonged to. Pay particular attention to the hard right groups that the AIP was allied with.
When the Nazis came for the

I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.
When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat. (Oh well, this one ends it for this gal)
When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
In a related matter, Mc Cain's and the RNC's legions of mutants, psychopaths, and social rejects take on ACORN:
www.commondreams.org/headline/2008/10/18-10
Their smear attack on this organization truly reeks of desperation and blatant hatred. Looks like the "country" Mc Cain wants to be first is Nazi Germany.
As always, lotsa fun(?) sharing my paranoia with all you folks.
I guess I'm not the only paranoid, eh?
And now it's off to the Saturday night gig - playing the pipes for a bunch of Irish stewed.
Later;)
Love me some Irish music; where might you be now?
I play in the Phoenix area of AZ with the Free Street Band which plays in support of antiwar and anti-McCain rallies as well as pubs; also guest with the Keltic Cowboys.
So THAT was the crazy lady they parodied on SNL on Thursday..
"I've read about him and he's....he's.....Megalon!"

I know I'm a couple of days late with this, but still funny:
How Low Can McCain Go?
Best with sound on.
the big question is, does he rake what he mows?

has really nailed some stuff this week. Brilliant show after show. John Oliver was on fire also. Colbert also! Just brilliant shows 4 times this week. Letterman's interview of McCain was the toughest I have heard in a while. So the 'comedians' are the new newsmen of our time. Amazing.
Funny comment, particularly considering Sarah Palin likes killing puppies (endangered wolf cubs)
Just saw an article on Yahoo news that said Palin gave as good as she got on SNL. In other words, she has neutralised Tina Fey. Damm why did they let her on? Didn't they know that was a GOP strategy to take down Fey. Tina was the best weapon we had, and now it is diluted because it appears like Palin doesn't care. We need our comedians they are the only ones to speak out. Unless,
'They came for the comedians and the last light went out.
Tina was hardly the best weapon. She's nothing more than a strong look-alike with some mediocre scripts. The McCain camp is the best weapon against the McCain camp. They are firebombing themselves with their pathetic campaign.
Roughly 50% of Fey's "scripts" were simply transcripts of ACTUAL remarks made by Palin, so it balances out.

"The McCain camp is the best weapon against the McCain camp."
If only Grampa would figure that out already.
They mocked her pretty good. She looked as stupid and out of her depth as always. Oh, sure, she's telegenic and can read a teleprompter, but she's still a lightweight. The damage from Couric cannot be undone. She's Bush/Quayle in a skirt, forever and always.
Just read a post that I think is spot on about how these people are beginning to act toward Obama and how they act towards Dems in general.
http://somestuffwrote.blogspot.com/2008/10/it...
and you will win the argument every time!
A friend told me that years ago during our university days. I didn't get the full meaning of it until the religious right came of age and flourished under the white anglo-saxon protestant male Republican version of Democracy under Bush/Cheney. Of course it was being fomented earlier by the likes of Falwell and his predeceasors.
The fanatics will start to show themselves openly now. It will be our jobs to reindoctrinate the minions and jail the perpetrators where there are clear criminal violations when we come to power.
Al Gore and the internets have introduced the concept of free thought into the equation. It has wild-card power potential for Democracy and it is already under assault by the control freaks among us.
And Obama has to be pushed into accepting national health care insurance without conditions.
I mean President Obama!
This is the how and why McCain will become the next President of the United States; by tapping into the primordial fears of Americans. Fear of black people and communism/socialism. Never underestimate the ignorance of an American as we always say up here in Canada.
Have fun with that.
lol... but I won't be laughing if he gets to the Whitehouse.
Here is a video clip of McCain schmoozing with the racist George Allen (remember the "macaca" comment to a reporter from India). This is another good reason to vote for Obama. The GOP is filled with racists:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N9zH85Anh70
Will McCain and Palin be held accountable if Obama is murdered?
Unfortunately, for them, they will be found accountable. If their followers dont decide to do them first.
I would like to see that idiot impeached. Talk about people associating with Obama, this woman wouldn't take her hands off Bush after his state of the union address. Who is she associating with? A guy who took us into an unnecessary and unprovoked war. She is associated with a party that is the most violent, acidic, right wing, polarizing, crazy, half cocked......
By the way, she does not represent me.
