These all-too-rare moments are damned gratifying, aren't they?
In a swift affirmation of Arizona’s fast growing and powerful new political movement, Secretary of State Ken Bennett notified Gov. Jan Brewer that the once seemingly invincible architect of the state’s controversial SB 1070 “papers please” immigration law has officially been recalled. Bennett confirmed that the recall petitions delivered by the Citizens for a Better Arizona “exceeds the minimum signatures required by the Arizona Constitution.”
“Let’s make no mistake about it,” said Randy Parraz, co-founder of the Citizens for a Better Arizona. “Russell Pearce has been recalled.”
According to Bennett’s statement, Pearce has two options: Resign from office within five business days, or become a candidate in the recall election. Either way, Pearce becomes the first state senate president in recent memory to be recalled in the nation.
“No one expected this or picked up on this political earthquake,” said Parraz, one of the main organizers behind the extraordinary grassroots campaign, which electrified a bipartisan effort in Pearce’s Mesa district. Parraz credited a “dramatic shift” over the past six months due to Pearce’s often extremist leadership in state senate.
“We had people pouring into the office,” Parraz said, citing the role of Republicans, Democrats and Independents in the door-to-door canvassing initiative, “and they told us: Russell Pearce is too extreme for our district and state.”

RIGHT ON!!!
Lower the retirement age.
and with some hard and diligent work, it will continue
"Let our manner distinguish us from our enemies, as much as the cause we are engaged in"
From the NY Provisional Congress, June 20, 1775
Now that they have the list, people who signed the petition will probably be getting a visit from Arpaio any day now
It sounds like your joking but actually it's very possible :
Sheriff’s deputies and county Protective Service officers arrested two men and two women in the middle of the meeting when they stood and applauded a speaker who criticized Arpaio.
Joel Nelson, Jason Odhner, Monica Sanschafer and Kristy Theilen all were charged with suspicion of disorderly conduct and trespassing, said sheriff’s office spokesman Lt. Brian Lee.
Wow that happened quick. I guess the media was too busy reporting what ever bullshit was dribbling out of Sarah Palin's yap, instead of covering real news. Har Dee Har Har. Or maybe the media was out in the desert looking of disembodied heads. In three more days three Repubsquats get recalled in Wisconsin. Hopefully they won't mysteriously find hundreds of thousands of missing votes like last election with Chokey the Judge.
This is cooler than lemonade in the shade.

Russell Pearce,
Can we see your election documents? Hahahaahaahaaa!!!!
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
Don't worry -- If he does loose his day job.... He can sell the stock he bought in PRIVATE prisons....before the
"Arrest suspects, hold them in Private prisons, Fed's pay the bill instead of sending them OUT of the country" Immigration Bill
he was so het up about
Seriously. I've had enough of his Republican in sheep's clothing.
I'll admit I was one of the ones smitten with him during the run up. I wonder what the country would be like if I'd voted Hillary.
It was bad enough I'd have to work to 67 instead of 65. I'm 32 and I've already had 3 major surgeries to repair damage mostly from putting 6 years into the Navy. Now I will have no Medicare AND no SS?!?!
And the sick part is I have a pretty well paying job with 'full' benefits and a company matched 401K. And I still don't feel like I'll ever be able to retire comfortably.
You appear to be commenting on the wrong thread...this thread is about Russell Pearce and his recall in AZ.
Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.
This thread is about recalls. I asked about recalling the Pres. Ergo...vis-a-vis...concordantly....
You're still planning on that 401k being there when the time comes? Man, either you've got some big balls or you're just insane.
Humpty Dumpty was pushed.
Adi-fucking-os amigo!
Fitting that this is typically the same time frame that prisoners being held on out-of-county warrants must be picked up for arraignment (or released without charge)...
Thanks for jumping on this so quickly, Susie. For some reason, CNN hasn't mentioned this at all. Of course, covering the Royals on their SoCal soiree is soooo much more newsy.../

We aren't all idiots here in Arizona. But there are still plenty to go around.
SCHWHING !!!
As a result of the Gray Davis affair, I have mixed feelings about recalls. Davis had committed no malfeasance, done nothing illegal, yet California ended up with Shwarzenegger as governor. Elections should have consequences, and if the voters mess up, they should suck it up and live with their mistake until the next election. On the other hand... well, it's like the old Buffalo Springfield lyric, with recalls being like protest signs : "Mostly say hooray for our side".

Wonderfully gratifying. The pos can burn now.
Is it the 21st century yet?
...Texas can stop killing foreign nationals...
Oh wait, it's Texas.
Where you ain't no Cowboy unless you have blood on your hands.
What a nice surprise! Burn in polticial hell, Pearce!
Good news.
far left loon >.<
Now it's time to go after the criminals on the SCOTUS! Antonine Skevosa, Uncle Thomas, Lyin' John Thomas, Sammy "the Bork" Alito and anyone who ever voted with them.
