This came after Blunt had tried to insert a provision aiding Phillip Morris into the 2003 Homeland Security Bill. In the days following, the Washington Post wrote that Blunt had “a close personal relationship with a (woman) lobbyist for the firm.” Of course, his office denied the rumor.
