The Daily Show's Jon Stewart treated his audience to a good portion of the craziness that was CPAC 2014, from "oops" Rick Perry to HuckaJesus, to McConnell and Ted Cruz. Stewart hit up Paul Ryan and his tall tale about the kid with the brown bag lunches, and did a great job of summing up just how cynical Ryan's speech along with his policies for those living below the poverty line really are.
Stewart also did his best to humiliate Mitch McConnell and his little stunt where he brought a rifle onto the stage there while pandering to the NRA.
The only thing that was missing from Stewart's takedown of the event was Caribou Barbie and her sour grapes, whether it was reading Green Eggs and Ham and getting the entire message wrong from that book, to pushing for nuclear war with Russia.
Jon Stewart Rounds Up ‘Crazy’ CPAC: ‘Take It Out and Jerk It for America!’:
Jon Stewart rounded up the best of “crazy” CPAC Monday night, which he described as “Burning Man for people who don’t do drugs and are afraid of fire.” He summed up the big, patriotic speeches with some genital-centered jokes, declaring, “Take it out and jerk it for America!”
Stewart mimicked Ted Cruz doing a Jay Leno joke, advising the senator, “Listen, Cruz, don’t quit your day job… Let me rephrase that. Quit your day job.” He took on Paul Ryan‘s anecdote about “free lunches” with the takeaway: “If you give a man a fish, don’t. Period. End of Bible.”
