In a move designed to keep a tight rein on what the American voting public hears from and knows about their candidates for President in the 2016 election Republicans voted to strictly limit the number of sanctioned debates and control the format and which network televises them.  Any candidate who participates in a non sanctioned event will be barred from participation in any further sanctioned debates.
