Bill O'Reilly Attacks Obamacare Subsidies As Socialist Income Redistribution
Bill-O is still trying to convince his audience that "class warfare" is being waged on the rich.
Fox's Bill O'Reilly used the recent court rulings on the Affordable Care Act as an excuse to continue railing on about a few of his favorite topics during his Talking Points Memo this Wednesday evening. One, painting everyone on the left as a bunch of lazy moochers who just want "free stuff" from the government. Two, pretending that raising taxes on the wealthy will harm the economy. And last but not least, pretending that "Obamacare" has turned the United States into a socialist country.
Here's more from Fox's blog: O’Reilly: The ObamaCare Battle Is ‘Capitalism vs. Socialism’:
On tonight’s Talking Points Memo, Bill O’Reilly discussed our nation’s “entitlement culture” and the chaos surrounding ObamaCare in the wake of conflicting federal court rulings on health care insurance subsidies.
The reason there is such chaos surrounding ObamaCare is that our Congress people and senators didn’t even read it before they voted in 2010, according to “The Factor” host. “Even President Obama didn’t know what was in the bill.”
O’Reilly characterized ObamaCare as “a pure income redistribution play,” a hallmark of socialism.
“President Obama and the Democratic Party want to put as much money into the hands of the poor and less affluent as they can, and health care subsidies are a great way to do just that,” he explained.
As those funds for subsidies are taken from businesses and affluent Americans, O’Reilly said our country is now moving toward socialism and will suffer economically if the entitlement culture expands.
O’Reilly said too many Americans simply want free stuff, so they continue to elect pro-entitlement politicians.
“ObamaCare is about much more than providing medical assets to the poor,” he concluded. “It’s about capitalism vs. socialism.”
“But now, because the law is so nebulous, the Supreme Court will once again get the chance to weigh in, perhaps this time dooming the law forever.”
