Donald Trump Turns Birther Heat Up On Ted Cruz

Is Orly Taitz editing her Obama legal briefs for Ted Cruz? Better ask Trump, because he's showing himself to be a birther who doesn't let partisanship get in the way.

In a telephone interview with MyFoxNY.com, Trump got right down to business, saying "you're supposed to be born in this country."

"He's got a hurdle that nobody else seems to have at this moment. It's a hurdle and somebody could certainly look at it very seriously. He was born in Canada."

Just a minor correction here while the popcorn is popping. Trump's claim that "you're supposed to be born in this country" isn't exactly what the constitution says. What it says is that the president must be a "natural-born citizen," which includes children of American citizens born in other countries. Like John McCain, for example. Or Mitt Romney.

But let's not give them too many facts to interfere with the revered Republican ritual of eating their own, right?
