Trump: 'McCain Was A War Hero Because He Was Captured. I Like People Who Weren't Captured'

The Donald continued his attacks on John McCain at this Saturday's Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa.

Anyone think he's going to get another phone call from Reince Priebus begging him to knock it off again after this one? Trump's at it again, attacking members of his own party: Trump attacks McCain: 'I like people who weren't captured':

Appearing on Saturday at the Family Leadership Summit in Ames, Iowa, the real estate mogul took his running feud with Arizona Sen. John McCain to a new level.

“He was a war hero because he was captured,” Trump said. “I like people who weren’t captured.”

The remark, which came after days of back-and-forth between McCain and Trump, was met with scattered boos.

Trump continued the feud he started on Twitter with McCain as well, where he called him a "dummy" and pointed out that McCain graduated last in his class at Annapolis.

Trump also went after moderator Frank Luntz for advising politicians that they needed to be "politically correct" and said the public was tired of the kind of mealy mouthed statements they've seen from the likes of Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton, both of whom said that Trump ought to tone it down. Trump's statements were met with rousing applause from the Iowa crowd.
