Have I finalized my list of the best records of 2015 yet? I keep hoping to but the end of the year and the start of this one have been a bit more distracted by outside forces than some year's in the past.

On Monday I mentioned that Shawn David McMillen's On The Clock With JJ and Mitch was definitely one of those album that was going to be on my list.

Another one I know for sure that is going to be on it is Phylum Phyloid by the Phylums. Recorded on reel-to-reel eight track in under 24 hours, this Wisconsin band finds the thread of jangle that runs through bands like Creedence Clearwater Revival and the early parts of R.E.M.'s career and use it to wrap around rural psychedelia, cow punk scruff and post Gen X cynicism.

What are you listening to tonight?
