When it comes to underrated and simply just unknown soul classics that the world needs to hear, Lee Moses will always be at the top of the list for me.

Born in Atlanta in 1941, Lee made a name for himself musically around the local area before moving to New York City in the mid 60's. Once in NYC he took a gig as a studio musician to pay the bills along with releasing a handful of singles under his own name.

In 1971 he released his only full length album, Time and Place . Though the record didn't sell that well at the time of it's release it's now considered a classic of the era and for good reason. Just listen to the yearning in this song to hear why.

Lee returned to Atlanta in the mid 70's and died there in 1997. He continued to play gigs but never released another record.

What are you listening to tonight?
