Dr. Zuhdi Jasser, Fox News' go to guy for when they need a fellow Muslim to denigrate President Obama for any attempts at fostering positive relations with American Muslims, went on Alan Colmes Radio Program to discuss Obama's Wednesday visit to a Baltimore mosque.
He insists that the president insulted most American Muslims with his visit, but the general consensus is much to the contrary of Jasser's assessment.
Thursday on “The Alan Colmes Show,”
Alan spoke with Founder and President of the American Islamic Forum Dr. Zudhi Jasser, who told Alan why he was “insulted” by the speech President Obama made at the Islamic Center of Baltimore Wednesday.
Dr. Jasser said that President Obama should not have chosen a mosque that was “non-compatible” with the message of tolerance President Obama was trying to convey. Alan countered that argument by saying that right-wing candidates have been known to campaign at churches and with other organizations what also have teaching some would consider “intolerant.”
Dr. Jasser and Alan debated whether the mosque President Obama spoke at leads to “the conveyor belt” to ISIS, whether President Obama should have appeared at a mosque that represents the reform movement instead, and if President Obama is ignoring the political aspect of Islam.
The activist and sometimes cardiologist is usually more concerned with not insulting Orthodox Judaism or Fundamentalist Christianity, which are as homophobic and against gender equality as traditional Islam, and he refuses to see the similarity. He believes that Obama is treating Muslims in America like 'children' because he's saying they are contributing members of society but not forcing them to change the religious dogma of the faith (gender equality) and not to spew anti-military, anti-Jewish hate. He expects all American Muslims to denounce the quest for Palestinian Statehood as he has. Jasser was tickled pink when Netanyahu was invited by Ex-Speaker Boehner to address Congress.
Jasser also wants President Obama and his Administration to say Radical Islam, instead of referring to it simply as radicalization. Those specific words, in that order, are absolutely essential to curing Islamic terrorist elements, as far as the cardiologist and head of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy is concerned.
Things got a bit spicier towards the end of the interview.
COLMES: Where could he have gone? Is there a mosque he could have gone to that you would have said, this is great, I'm so glad he's there?... (Jasser dodges the question) Can you name a mosque he could have gone to that you would have found appropriate?
JASSER: Actually, you know what, I don't want to do that. Because it's not fair to name a small mosque.
COLMES: Why not?
JASSER: They can do that themselves. We can help them to a reform movement....
Alan's guest insists that all the Muslims President Obama invites are part of the Islamist mindset that doesn't respect diversity the way Dr. Zuhdi Jasser sees it. He wants reformist Muslims, from the group HE recommends. Alan explains that the president doesn't tie the word Islam to people who pervert the faith. Dr. Jasser insists that he's not being selective enough and he's just not praising the right Muslims. Of course he isn't, he's the head Kenyan Muslim Usurper in Chief.
