C&L's Sat Nite Theater: The Furies (1950)

No, really, it's a noir western. And it's good. (open thread)

Given the usual tropes of the American western -- black hats, white hats, wide-open spaces -- it seems like a strange place to mount a noirish Gothic melodrama, full of shadows and doom. But director Anthony Mann finds a way to make it work. Starring the amazing Barbara Stanwyck and Walter Huston in his last film performance.
