Kevin McCarthy Once Again Says Quiet Part Out Loud
And once again, dumb Qevin admits out loud his failure to control the narrative. Sad!
Remember when Kevin McCarthy gave the game away (to Hannity!) that the Benghazi hearings were for bringing Hillary Clinton's poll numbers down? Oops, he did it again.
On Wednesday evening's Hannity, McCarthy gave up his con game once again, when he admitted that if more Republicans were on the Select Committee, the American people would believe it was a fair process.
As we know, both Jordan and Banks had objected to the certification of electoral vote directly after the attack on the US Capitol, and were linked to actions leading up to and during the insurrection at the US Capitol, so Pelosi balked at their inclusion. Jordan has refused to testify to the committee.
Fox News host Sean Hannity (intimating that the January 6 hearings are definitely having an impact?) cornered McCarthy on why he didn't replace Jordan and Banks.
"There have been questions asked, once they pulled Jim Jordan and Jim Banks, why didn’t you replace them with other people. In retrospect, should you have?” asked Hannity.
Trump has been critical of McCarthy for not replacing Jordan and Banks with other Republicans.
Trump said “In retrospect, I think it would have been very smart to put (Republicans on the committee) and again, I wasn’t involved in it from a standpoint, so I never looked at it too closely. But I think it would have been good if we had representation.
So it was only a matter of time before Hannity broached the issue with the California Congressman.
Rep. McCarthy responded, "No, not at all because nothing would be different."
That's true, because the testimony has been so powerful and damning.
"Think of this. It’s only the majority who has subpoena power. They would never allow Republicans into those meetings when they interview the individuals. All they would be is the American people would sit up there, and they would think this is a fair process,” he said.
McCarthy expressed his intentions about the Select Committee investigating the insurrection from the outset: delegitimize them in every way possible.
He never wanted an actual investigation to take place, so If he couldn't have Jim Jordan or Jim Banks on the committee to create havoc and chaos, then his next idea was to try and taint the investigation by not complying with Pelosi's request and submitting other Republicans.
Since Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger weren't fans of the insurrection, they are no longer considered "Republicans" by Fox News and MAGA cultists.
Fox News pundits have continually attacked the Committee for not having enough Republicans on the panel, but rarely do they mention it was precisely because of McCarthy's refusal to do so.
One thing Trump does understand is media optics, and he knows how horrible this important investigation into his culpability and guilt is making him look.
One that makes Watergate look like a picnic.
