First of all, I don’t care whether Kirk or anyone else wears makeup or not. But it seems a little - um, odd that a guy would admit to wearing make up just before a rant about the evils of other men doing so.

Here’s Kirk admitting he wears makeup “only when I’m on television”:

KIRK: First of all, let me say that I do wear makeup, only when I'm on television, so I wanna make sure I make that very clear. I don't wear makeup otherwise, if I wasn't gonna be in front of bright lights. I actually don't have any on today. But if I go on cable TV in those bright lights, you do need a little bit of powder.

Kirk didn’t mention any credentials on the subject but he seems to think his own sporadic makeup use makes him an expert on that subject as well as masculinity and femininity, in general.

KIRK: What I would tell your daughter and one day what I will tell mine is, what kind of man do you want to marry? And if you wish to marry a man that wears makeup and acts feminine, then I think that probably needs some loving adjustment and confrontation.

God made the masculine and the feminine. They are meant for one another. And there's a whole deeper discussion about makeup and about why women wear makeup. And there's some people that are very strict in Christian circles that say you shouldn't wear makeup at all. I completely disagree with that. I think there's actually been some very thoughtful Christian biblical commentary on that, but just more broadly than that, let's just say this, that if you have a dude that is wearing makeup, they need to be confronted and say, “That's wrong. Why don't you just work on maybe getting your testosterone levels up a little bit."

By the way, that is a very interesting segue. The American testosterone levels have decreased tremendously over the last 20 or 30 years.

Oh, and while we're on the subject, Charlie, if you have any extra powder, you might want to dab a little on your 5 o'clock shadow next time. Just saying.
