We all watched as Cochise County election supervisors finally had to submit to a court order and share their election tallies with the state, albeit three days after the deadline. But Cliff Schecter's video here, made while the fight was going on and the two right-wing Cochise County supervisors hadn't yet acceded to the court, is right on target.
In this case, their refusal would have delivered a House seat and State Superintendent's seat to the Democrats in Arizona. But a second Arizona county (Mohave) initially refused, and one in Pennsylvania (Luzerne) also had to be sued by Democratic election lawyer Marc Elias to get them to share their results.
When does this simply become...secession?
Don't think this is not a canary in the coal mine. Whenever a Republican opens a door like this, the rest of the party comes along later to kick down the whole wall. It was once unthinkable that Republicans would vote against the Violence Against Women Act, or the Voting Rights Act reauthorization, or aid to areas hit by natural disasters. But a few refused at first, which then became some and went on to become many or most.
