On Sunday's Fox News Media Buzz, host Howard Kurtz attacked the New York Times for not writing up an article on Elon Musk's "Twitter files", but then blew right past Trump's attack on the US Constitution, as if it were no big deal.
Kurtz did a segment on the Elon Musk/Hunter Biden laptop/Twitter story and then, at the end of the segment, commented on Trump's Truth Social post; ended the segment. That left Republican Jim Geraghty flabbergasted for why this wasn't an important topic of discussion.
Closing out the segment, Geraghty said he believes there's a lot more on the laptop than dick pics, and Ameshia Cross countered by saying there's a lot more hanging at Mar-A-Lago right now than on that laptop.
Kurtz then came in to wrap up the segment but suddenly changed directions.
"Donald Trump said this on Truth Social, 'do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,' Kurtz read.
"Got a lot of media criticism on that," he said. "You can make up your own mind."
Jim Geraghty threw his hands up in the air like WTF? Why are you not talking about this?
Terminating the US Constitution only warranted a passing mention and a "you can make up your own mind" comment from the host, and no discussion from the panel.
This is what Fox News does. Anything truly controversial that Trump says or does, they either ignore it, or give it seconds of coverage.
Kurtz got the memo.
